A method is presented to alter the geometry of the conventional linearly shaped wire antenna for increasing its bandwidth. The synthesis is two-demensionally symmetric and is based on the minimization of frequency-dependence of the boresight far-field electric field intensity. The current distribution on the wire is calculated by Galerkin method using pulse functions. The shaping limitation for wide-band characteristics is still found because of standing waves due to reflected waves from antenna ends. The limitation overcome by a distribution of resistive loads near ends of wire. The antenna loaded resistively has flat characteristics satisfying a power gain of $6.5\pm1.1$dBi and VSWR of at most 2 over 10:1 bandwidth. The results are verified by comparing with similar results for the conventional linear V-dipole.

We have been designed and fabricated a bi-directional ultrasonic linear motor using piezoelectric ceramics. With the finite element method, we design and verify validity of the structure, and determine its optimal structure, size of design variables, material and boundary conditions for proper generation of the ultrasonic waves. Based on the design, a prototype of the ultrasonic linear motor has been fabricated and characterized, which thereby proves practical applicability of this new motor.

Ferrite plating enables were grown by ferrite by plating method in solution at low temperature(<10$0^{\circ}C$). This faciltates the fabrication of new ferrite thin film devices using non- heat-resistant materials(plastic, GaAs ect) as substrates. Combining the ferrite plating with sonochemistry, application of power ultrasonic waves to stimulate chemical reactions, the crystallinity and qualities of films were improved. Modifying the reactions cell and plating conditions further improved the film quality.

Surface acoustic wave(SAW) oscillator offers many attractive features for application to vapor sensors. The perturbation of SAW velocity by the hexafluoropropence plasma polymer thin film has been studied for relative humidity sensing. adsorption of moisture produces rapid aid changes in the properties of the film, resulting in a change in the velocity of surface acoustic waves and, hence, in the frequency of one SAW oscillator. The device used in our experiments have 55 MHZ SAW oscillator fabricated on a LiNbO substrate.

The standing waves of the fourth bending mode of vibration and first longitudinal mode of vibrator were utilized to construct a ultrasonic linear motor. The geometrical dimensions of the vibrator were determined by Euler-Bernoulli theoty. FEM(finite element method) employed to calculate the vibration mode of the metal-piezoceramic composite thin plate vibrator. ANSYS was used to design positions of the projections and calculate displacement of vibrator.

In this paper, a synthesis method for the desired scattering pattern is presented when illuminating by TE-polarized and TM-polarized plane waves to arbitrary dielectric material. It is considered that the one-dimensional dielectric media are inhomogeneously distributed with continuously varying dielectric constants. Accordingly the desired patterns and the corresponding source distributions are inversely transformed by the proposed algorithm which are based on the one-dimensional inverse scattering problem. Some bandstop spatial filter are illustrated for applications.

The cis-hex-3-ene-1,5-diynyl-bridged diiron compound 3, [(η$^{5}$ - $C_{5}$ M $e_{5}$ ) Fe(dppe)]$_2$($\mu$-C≡C-CH=CH-C≡C), have been prepared and characterized by cyclic voltammetry(CV), and electronic spectroscopy (UV-VIS and near-IR, NMR). From the results, compound 3 show two well resolved, single-electron, reversible oxidation waves by CV, and comproportionation constant(Kc) calculated from the CV data for compound 3. The Mixed-valence (MV) radical cation 3$^{+}$ show strong absorptions in the near IR, 1586 nm, and this band is more readily assigned as MV $\pi$-$\pi$ band of delocalized complex (Robin-Day Mixed-valence Class III), and the $H_{ab}$ , effective coupling parameter are most consistent with electronic delocalization.

Based on the Zigbee-based wireless sensor network, I suggest the way to reduce errors between the short distance, improving the accuracy of the presumed distance by revising the deviation of RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication) values is to estimate the distance using only the RF signal power without the additional hardware. In general, the graph measured by RSSI values shows the proximity values which are ideally reduced in proportion to the distance under the free outdoor space in which LOS(Line-Of-Sight) is guaranteed. However, if the result of the received RSSI values are each substituted to the formula, it can produce a larger margin of error and less accurate measurement since it is based upon the premise that this free space is not affected by reflected waves or obstacles caused by the ground and electronic jamming engendered by the environment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to reduce the margin of errors between the distances and to measure the proximity values with the ideal type of graph by suggesting the way to revise the received RSSI values in the light of these reflected waves or obstacles and the electronic jamming. In conclusion, this study proves that errors are reduced by comparing the proposed deviation correction method to the revised RSSI value.

In this paper, an analysis method for indoor optical wireless channel properties based on photon model is presented for characterization of communication environment. In contrast to radio waves, optical waves have very short wave-lengths and very high frequencies, so that material properties become important. Channel models including diffuse reflections and absorption effects due to material surface textures make conventional electromagnetic wave analysis methods based on ray tracing consume enormous time. To overcome these problems, an analysis method using photon model is presented that approximates light intensity by a density of photons. The photon model ensures that simulation time is within a predictable limit.

This study analyzed the change of electrical characteristics of a photocoupler when a narrow-band electromagnetic wave was combined with the photocoupler. A magnetron (3 kW, 2.45 GHz) was used as the narrow-band electromagnetic source. The EUT was Photocoupler (6N139) and the input signal was divided into two types: a square pulse and the second signal is 0 V. The malfunction of the photocoupler was confirmed by monitoring the variation in the output voltage of the photocoupler. As a result of the experiment, changes in the malfunctioning was observed as the electric field was increased. There are three types of malfunction modes: delay, output voltage off, and fluctuation. Bit errors were analyzed to verify the electrical characteristics of the photocoupler by narrow-band electromagnetic waves. The result of this study can be used as basic data for the effect analysis of photocoupler protection and impact analysis of high-power electromagnetic waves.
