  • The phase transition between amorphous and crystalline states in chalcogenide semiconductor films can controlled by electric pulses or pulsed laser beam; hence some chalcogenide semiconductor films can be applied to electrically write/erase nonvolatile memory devices, where the low conductive amorphous state and the high conductive crystalline state are assigned to binary states. GeSbTe(GST), AsSbTe(AST), SeSbTe(SST) used to phase change materials by appling electrical pulses. Thickness of ternary chalcogenide thin films have about 100nm. Upper and lower electrode were made of Al. It is compared with I-V characteristics after impress the variable pulses.

  • A conventional epoxy-microsilica composite (EMC) and an epoxy-microsilica-nanosilicate composite (EMNC) were prepared in order to apply them to mold-type transformers, current transformers (CT) and potential transformers (PT). Nanosilicate was exfoliated in a epoxy resin using our electric field dispersion process and AC insulation breakdown strength at $30{\sim}150^{\circ}C$, glass transition temperature and viscoelasticity were studied. AC insulation breakdown strength of EMNC was higher than that of EMC and that value of EMNC was far higher at high temperature. Glass transition temperature and viscoelasticity property of EMNC was higher than those of EMC at high temperature. These results was due to the even dispersion of nanosilicates among the nanosilicas, which could be observed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). That is, the nanosilicates interrupt the electron transfer and restrict the mobility of the epoxy chains.

  • We study and describe-from the point of view of the interactions of the adsorbed particles-three types of the adsorption isotherms, namely, Langmuir type adsorption isotherms, phase transition type adsorption isotherms, and adsorption limited type adsorption isotherms, which are observed by experiments. By introducing and using a one dimensional statistical occupancy model, we derived analytical adsorption isotherms for the no force, the attractive force, and the repulsive force exerted on the other adsorbed particles. Our derived adsorption isotherms qualitatively pretty well agree with the experimental results of the adsorption isotherms. To specify each adsorption type, Langmuir type adsorption is a phenomenon that occurs with no forces between the adsorbed particles, phase transition type adsorption is a phenomenon that occurs with the strong attractive forces between the adsorbed particles, and adsorption limited type adsorption is a phenomenon that occurs with the repulsive forces between the adsorbed particles. The theoretical analysis-only using fundamental thermodynamics and occupancy statistics though-qualitatively quite well explains the experimental results.

  • The new concept of the Bonding and Antibonding Regions in the transition density space is developed from the Integral Hellmann-Feynman Theorem and the positive definiteness of the transition density. The unility of this concept is fully demonstrated for H2 system. It is expected that the nature of the electronic perturbation energy due to the change of nuclear configuration can be successfully understood by using this concept. Properties of the transition density is briefly discussed.

  • In this paper, we designed a cylindrical type light source having an electromagnetic principle of inductively coupled plasma, and measured its electrical-optical properties. Using the transformer principle, an electrically equivalent circuit cylindrical type light source was analyzed. According to the parameters of electromagnetic induction, which were diameter of coil with cpO.3$\~$ 1.2mm, number of turns with 4$\~$ 12 turns, distance with 40$\~$ l20mm and RF power with 10$\~$ 150W, the electrical .md optical properties were measured. When the diameter of the coil was cp0.3mm, number of turns was 8 and distance was 40mm, and the maximum brightness of 29,730 cd/m$^{2}$ was shown with RF power l50W. The relationship between electromagnetic induction and plasma discharges was demonstrated using the mode transition from E-mode to H-mode

  • This paper introduces a new soft switched AC-DC boost converter with power factor correction (PFC). In the introduced converter, all devices are turned on and off under soft switching (SS). The main switch is turned on under zero voltage transition (ZVT) and turned off under zero current transition (ZCT). The main diode is turned on under zero voltage switching (ZVS) and turned off under zero current switching (ZCS). Meanwhile, there is not any current or voltage stress on the main devices. Besides, the auxiliary switch is turned on under ZCS and turned off under ZVS. The detailed theoretical analysis of the converter is presented, and also theoretical analysis is verified by a prototype with 100 kHz and 500 W. Also, the proposed converter has 99.8% power factor and 97.5% total efficiency at soft switching operation.

  • Recently, considerable progress and many breakthroughs have been achieved in the growth of two-dimensional materials, especially transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), which attract significant attention owing to their unique properties originating from their atomically thin layered structure. Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) has shown great promise to fabricate large-scale and high-quality TMDC films with exceptional electronic and optical properties. However, the scalable growth of high-quality TMDCs by CVD is yet to meet industrial criteria. Therefore, growth mechanisms should be unveiled for a deeper understanding and further improvement of growth methods are required. This review summarizes the recent progress in the growth methods of TMDCs through CVD and other modified approaches to gain insights into the growth of large-scale and high-quality TMDCs.

  • The influence of the order-disorder structural transition on the magnetic and mageto-optical, and transport properties of Fe-Al and Co-Al alloy films has been investigated. The disordered states in the alloy films were prepared by vapor quenching deposition on glass substrates cooled by liquid nitrogen. The experimental study of the magento-optical properties of the ordered and disordered Fe-Al and Co-Al alloy films has been carried out in 1.05-5.0 eV energy range at room temperature. The transport properties have been measured in 2-300K temperature range with and without magnetic field of 0.5T. The influence of the order-disorder structural transition on the magnetic and magneto-optical properties was discussed by using the effective medium approximation and the structural defect approach. That on the temperature dependence of the resistivity was analyzed in a framework of the partial localization of the electronic states and the variable range hopping conductivity.

  • In this study, the magnetocaloric effect and transition temperature of bulk metallic glass, an amorphous material, were predicted through machine learning based on the composition features. From the Python module 'Matminer', 174 compositional features were obtained, and prediction performance was compared while reducing the composition features to prevent overfitting. After optimization using RandomForest, an ensemble model, changes in prediction performance were analyzed according to the number of compositional features. The R2 score was used as a performance metric in the regression prediction, and the best prediction performance was found using only 90 features predicting transition temperature, and 20 features predicting magnetocaloric effects. The most important feature when predicting magnetocaloric effects was the 'Fe' compositional ratio. The feature importance method provided by 'scikit-learn' was applied to sort compositional features. The feature importance method was found to be appropriate by comparing the prediction performance of the Fe-contained dataset with the full dataset.

  • In this paper we characterized and designed the waveguide antipodal finline transition at 57-65GHz frequency band in V-band for 5G mobile communication systems. Especially, we proposed the design method of spline taper for finline tapers by means of increasing curvature from linear taper. We could perform optimization more effectively by excluding improper regions for optimal performance from optimization using the method. Return losses and insertion losses of antipodal finline transitions were mainly affected by the taper shape of the finline. The resonances in the structure of the finline transition were the strongest enemies who deteriorate the performance of the transition. And we alleviated the resonances using semicircle shaped patch. The designed antipodal finline transition showed good performance as it showed less than -24.2dB of return loss and -0.24dB of insertion loss in the band(57-65GHz) which we suppose to use.
