Operation limits analysis of PW206C turboshaft engine In manual mode (PW206C 터보축 엔진의 수동운용범위 분석)

  • The power control system of Smart UAV is similar to the propeller pitch governing concept of turboprop aircraft. The pilot inputs the engine power directly and the pitch governor controls the propeller pitch to maintain the propeller RPM. The manual back-up system of PW206C engine is used for the engine power control of Smart UAV. Engine performance estimation program is used to predict the control range of power lever arm(PLA) angle according to the variation of flight altitude and speed. These data provide a guide for the engine control in manual mode operation.

  • EPG (Electronic Program Guide), which was born with the development of digital broadcasting technology, is becoming a successful data service in the environment that a digital broadcasting station operates more than one hundred channels. In the circumstance, the request for the development or renewal of EPG frequently occurs and so the developers are looking for ways to improve the efficiency of the EPG development. This paper addresses the need of the developers by devising an EPG feature model based on FODA and the test-cases for each feature of the model. Utilizing the EPG feature model and the test-cases, the EPG development process, especially the phases of requirement analysing and test-case designing can be improved.

  • TV businesses that have brought a competitive structure in terms of price, definition, product design for a long time now are bringing User eXperience (UX) into relief as DTVs come to support broadcast information-related services such as various broadcast channels and Electronic Program Guide(EPG), etc., and playing of multimedia contents like music/videos, etc. This study worked on an evaluation by developing a UI to control easily the various and complex broadcast contents or multimedia contents provided by DTVs. The UI Design for new DTVs was developed based on Function, Flow and Form in the concept of Single ABC (Access, Browser and Control), and the usability test of the developed UI concept along with the UIs of the major DTV products, was done for Channel Managers and the multimedia browsers for 32 users of DTVs in the U.K./U.S., respectively. As a result of the usability test, the new concept of Channel Manager was evaluated high both in the U.K./U.S, while the multimedia browser was evaluated low in the U.S., relatively.

  • 국내 디지털 방송 방식이 결정되고 본격적인 디지털 방송 서비스가 시행되면서, 전자프로그램가이드 (EPG: electronic program guide), 주식 및 일기예보등의 문자 방송이 활성화 되고 있다. 특히, 지상파 디지털 방송, 위성 방송, 및 최근 대두되고 있는 DMB (Digital Media Broadcasting) 지상파/위성 방송 등에서 기존의 단순 방송 서비스외에 양방향을 위한 새로운 서비스 개발을 확대하면서 문자방송의 역할은 점점 넓어지고 있다. 본 논문은 한글 데이터의 압축 방법에 관한 것으로, 디지털 방송의 문자 방송 서비스에서 사용되는 문자들을 효율적으로 압축하는 방법을 제안한다. 특히, 현재 서비스 되고 있는 방송의 문자 정보를 분석하고 한글의 특성과 글자간의 상관관계를 고려한 2 차 한글 허프만 부호 설계 기법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 디지털 방송에서 점점 늘어나는 문자 방송의 문자를 효율적으로 압축함으로써 제한된 대역폭을 최대한 활용할 수 있는 방법을 제공한다.

  • Hyrdogenated amorphous silicon thin film transistors are used as a pixel switching device of TFT-LCDs and very active research works on a-Si:H TFTs are in progress. Further development of the technology based on a-Si:H TFTs depends on the increased understanding of the device physics and the ability to accurately simulate the characteristics of them. A two-dimensional device simulator based on the realistic and flexible physical models can guide the device designs and their optimizations. A non-uniform finite-difference TFT Simulation Program, TFT2DS has been developed to solve the electronic transport equations for a-Si:H TFTs. In TFT2DS, many of the simplifying assumptions are removed. The developed simulator was used to calculate the transfer and output characteristics of a-Si:H TFTs. The measured data were compared with the simulated ones for verifying the validity of TFT2DS. Also the transient behaviors of a-Si:H TFTs were calculated even if the values of the related parameters are not accurately specified.

  • 본 논문에서는 MPEG-4 LASeR (Lightweight Application Scene Representation) 장면기술을 활용하여 효과적인 EPG(Electronic Program Guide) 서비스를 제공하는 방안을 제안한다. EPG는 텔레비전 방송 프로그램의 편성표를 텔레비전 화면상에 표시하는 것으로, 텔레비전을 시청하는 사람은 이 편성표를 통해 원하는 프로그램을 선택하거나 시간, 제목, 채널, 장르 등을 기준으로 원하는 프로그램을 검색할 수 있는 서비스를 말한다. 국제 표준 규격인 MPEG-4에는 장면의 동적인 업데이트를 위해 다양한 명령을 포함한 장면 서술정보를 제공 할 수 있는 LASeR 기술을 제공하고 있다. 특히, LASeR 표준은 구조화된 정보의 표현 및 수정 방법을 제공하기 위한 방법으로 PMSI (Presentation Method & Structured Information)를 제정하였으며, 해당 기술은 장면 서술정보에서 구조화된 정보의 일부분을 참조하여 장면에 효과적으로 표현하는 것을 가능하게 해 준다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG-4 LASeR PMSI를 기존의 텍스트 중심의 단순 EPG에 적용하여 텍스트 뿐만이 아닌 이미지 비디오 등의 멀티미디어 데이터를 활용하여 보다 동적으로 EPG 서비스를 제공하는 방법에 대하여 제안한다.

  • The power control system of Smart UAV is similar to the propeller pitch governing concept of turboprop aircraft. The pilot adjusts the engine power directly and the pitch governor controls the propeller pitch to maintain the propeller rotational speed. The electronic engine controller(EEC) of PW206C engine developed for helicopter is not fit for the power control concept of Smart UAV, and therefore the manual back-up system of PW206C engine is used for the engine power control of Smart UAV. Engine performance estimation program is used to predict the control range of power lever angle(PLA) according to the variation of engine output shaft speed, flight altitude and flight speed. These data provide a guide for the PLA control in manual mode operation.

  • 디지털 방송의 시작과 함께, TV화면에서 채널이나 프로그램을 직접 검색할 수 있는 EPG(Electronic Program Guide)라는 새로운 방송 서비스가 제공되고 있다. 그러나 아직까지는 시청자 입장을 고려한 EPG의 User Interface에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. TV는 특정 계층이 아닌 모든 사람이 시청하는 매체이의로 시청자에게 프로그램을 쉽게 찾게 하기 위해서는 단순하고 직관적인 User Interface가 필요하다. 이러한 User Interface를 설계하기 위해서는 많은 채널에서 방송되고 있는 프로그램을 체계적으로 구분학 수 있는 정보구조와 정보구조들을 유연하게 연결시킬 수 있는 Navigation의 설계가 필요하다. 일반적으로 프로그램을 구분하는 방법으로 장르, 시간, 등급, 프로그램의 내용 등과 같은 속성을 이용한다. 하지만 이러한 속성들은 체계적으로 구조화되어 있지 않다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 EPG는 프로그램이 가지는 속성들을 체계적으로 정리해 구조화하고, 이렇게 구조화된 속성들을 시청자들이 쉽게 선택해 원하는 프로그램을 찾을 수 있는 유연한 Navigation을 설계함으로써 기존의 EPG보다 쉽고 빠르게 프로그램을 검색 학 수 있는 User Interface를 제안하고자 한다.

  • Wire, wireless digital broadcasting has sharply expanded with the birth of high definition TV since 2010, the use of duplex contents as well as simplex contents has rapidly increased. Currently, our satellite communications system adopted DVB by European digital broadcasting standardization organization as a standard of domestic data broadcasting, the method how to use selective contents has been studied variously according to the development of IPTV. Digital broadcasting utilizes the method using Transport Stream Packet(TSP) by the way of multiplexing of information in order to send multimedia information such as video, audio and data of MPEG-2, this streams include detail information on TV guide and program as well as video and audio information. In order to understand these data broadcasting system, this study realized TS analyzer that divides transport stream (TS) by packet in Linux environment, analyzes and prints by function, it can help the understanding of TS, the enhancement of stream parsing ability.

Structure Optimization of a Slot-Die Head with a Hydrophobic Micro-Patterns for Stripe Coatings (소수성 마이크로 패턴을 갖는 Stripe 코팅용 슬롯 다이 헤드 구조 최적화)

  • In the presence of $\mu-tip$ for narrow stripe coating, there appears lateral capillary flow along the hydrophilic head lip because the $\mu-tip$ has some resistance to flow. It was known to be suppressed by increasing the contact angle of the head lip. In this paper, we have demonstrated by computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations that it can also be suppressed by the formation of micro-patterns on the shim and meniscus guide embedded into the slot-die head. To optimize the micro-patterned structure, we have performed simulations by varying the groove width, depth, and clearance. In the absence of micro-patterns, it is shown by experiment and simulation that the solution spreads to a distance of $1,300{\mu}m$ from the ${\mu}-tip$. In the presence of micro-patterns with the groove width and clearance of $50{\mu}m$, the distance the solution spreads is reduced to $260{\mu}m$. However, no further suppression in the capillary flow is observed with micro-patterns with the groove width of $40{\mu}m$ or less. It is also observed that the capillary flow is not affected by the groove depth if it is larger than $10{\mu}m$. We have shown that the distance the solution spreads can be reduced further to $204{\mu}m$ by coating a hydrophobic material (contact angle of $104^{\circ}$) on the surface of micro-patterns having the groove width and clearance of $50{\mu}m$.
