Development of an Integrated EDI Document Generation System (통합적 EDI 문서생성 시스템의 개발)

  • There are increasing needs for an individual or enterprise to interchange documents electronically through communication network to enhance the efficiency of business, according to the rapid progress in the construction of communication network. UN has established and distributed the standards for electronic documents to facilitate rapid and accurate processing of business. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of an integrated system for processing documents that conform to the electronic document standards. This system consists of three subsystems, which are an EDI parser for checking syntax, an EDI document editor, and an EDI directory viewer for referencing syntax of an EDI document. Integrated usage of these tools can afford the composition of correct EDI documents more rapidly and conveniently.

  • Recently, XML(extensible Markup Language) Document is widely accepted as the standard for electronic documents in the electronic commerce. Therefore, a security mechanism for XML documents must be provided In the first place. ESES(ETRI Secure I-commerce Services) provides a system designed specifically for securing XML documents and existing non-XML documents that are exchanged in the Electronic Commerce and is essential to various electronic commerce platform as a fundamental system. In this paper, we provide an overview of these aspects of the ESES and design and implemented the secure I-Commerce Platform to support security services such as authentication, integrity and confidentiality for Electronic Document Interchange.

Design and Implementation of Component-Based XML/EDI System (컴포넌트기반의 XML/EDI 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • One of the important applications for business-to-business electronic commerce is in procurement and inventory management using electronic data interchange(EDI). Using online catalogs and approved supplier lists, firms can easily create requisitions and purchasing documents. The emerging trend in EDI technology is changed from VAN(Value Added Network) based EDI to XML based EDI. This paper intends to suggest a component-based XML/EDI system using Unified Modeling Language(UML), as an application system for automobile part industry. Applying component based XML/EDI systems designed with UML methodology, we analyzed the workflow and the document on procurement process between trading partners and implemented a prototype of efficient XML/EDI system, as a surrogate of existing VAN/EDI. The result of applying object-oriented CBD(Component Based Development) technique is to minimize the risk of life cycle and facilitate the reuse of software as mentioned to limitation of information engineering methodology. It enables the interoperability with corporate legacy systems such as ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning), SCM(Supply Chain Management). This system proposes a solution to apply analysis phase and design phase in implementation of XML/EDI system. The implementation of XML/EDI system using CBD shows the ease of use in software reuse and the interoperability with corporate internal information system. The purchasing department with XML/EDI system can electronically communicate purchase orders, delivery schedules to external suppliers and interoperate with other application systems.

  • EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) works by providing a collection of standard message formats and element dictionary in a simple way for businesses to exchange data via any electronic messaging service. Open-edi is electronic data interchange among autonomous parties using public standards and aiming towards interoperability over time, business sectors, information technology and data types. The number of Internet services using XML/EDI has grown rapidly since it is easily expansible and exchangeable. To use this service, the client does not have to install EDI S/W but only needs internet browser. Consequently, it became much easier and faster to handle the trading process in an office. eBusiness SML (extensible markup language) electronic data interchange. eXedi is the service that realizes B2B of XML/EDI. eXedi can be used easily in small and medium sized companies. Companies in any place can access to eXedi using the existing Internet connection. XML/EDI provides a standard framework to exchange different types of data -- for example, an invoice, healthcare claim, project status -- so that the information be it in a transaction, exchanged via an Application Program Interface (API), web automation, database portal, catalog, a workflow document or message can be searched, decoded, manipulated, and displayed consistently and correctly by first implementing EDI dictionaries and extending our vocabulary via on-line repositories to include our business language, rules and objects.

  • “B2B 에서의 XML 보안”에 관해서 현재 많은 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 인터넷상에서 뛰어난 확장성을 가지고 있고, 풍부한 자료구조, 국제적 문자에 대한 탁월한 처리를 가진 XML을 많은 기업들이 B2B(Business to Business)에서 많이 사용하고 있다. 또한 EDI(Electronic data Interchange)에서도 XML을 사용한 문서 교환이 활발하게 이용되고 있다. 하지만 XML에서는 보안에 관한 많은 취약점을 가지고 있는 것이 사실이다. 본 논문은 XML의 보안상의 취약점, XML의 보안에 대한 기술, 그리고 인터넷에서 XML 디지털 인증에 관해 구현하였다.

  • The area of business applications in the internet are extended enormously in result of fast development of computing and communication technologies, increase of internet use, and use of intranet/extranet in enterprise information system. Widely spread the use of the internet, there are various applications for Business to Business (B to B) or Business to Customer(B to C) model that are based on the intranet or extranet. This paper designed and implemented the Web-based Electronic Bidding System for Business to Business (B to B) model. The technical issues of electronic bidding system in the internet are involved in the connection between web client and server, electronic data interchange for the contract document, and security solution during the bidding and contracting processes. The web-based electronic bidding system in this paper is implemented using Java applet and servlet as a connection interface for web client and server, XML/EDI-based documents for a bid and a contract, and bidding server and notary server for enhancing the security using PKI(Public Key Infrastructure)-based public key cryptography, digital signature and Certification Authority(CA).

  • 본 논문은 인터넷상에서 사용이 가능하며 확장성이 뛰어난 XML을 이용하여 B2B (Business to Business) 사이에 사용되는 EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) 문서를 표현함으로써 이기종 시스템과 응용 프로그램간의 원활한 문서 유통을 이룰 수 있는 시스템의 설계 및 구현에 관한 것이다. 이를 위해 기존 EDI 표준인 UN/EDIFACT 메시지 전송 항목에 기반하여 문서형 정의부(Document Type Definition, DTD)를 개발했으며 메시지 수행 지침서(Message Implementation Guide, MIG)를 이용하여 템플리트를 구성하였다. 동적인 XML/EDI 문서를 생성하기 위하여 트랜잭션 처리기 및 생성된 XML 문서의 표현을 위하여 XML 스타일 언어(eXtensible Stylesheet Laguage, XSL)를 자동으로 생성, 변경할 수 있는 XSL 편집기를 개발하였다. 또한 변환 처리기를 두어 기존 EDI 시스템과 원활하게 문서를 교환할 수 있도록 설계 구현하였다.

  • Owing to the digital revolution, Internet Commerce and Electronic commerce, revolutionize the way of doing business and making payment. The entrance of the Internet has a prominent for spread of Electronic Commerce and those phenomenons will result in paperless trading and cashless trade. By virtue of Internet, an increasing share of business transactions occurs online. Electronic payment is essential for the smooth progress of the electronic commerce as electronic payment plays the important role in the electronic commerce, that is, the value transfer restyling from the electronic commerce. Traditionally international settlement systems such as letters of credits, remittance and documentary collections operated as important and poplar method of payment, Now, information technology has made it possible to pay for the sale of goods and services over the internet. In international trade, there are service providers (bolero, TradeCard, BeXcom) to settle payment electronically through the Internet. The purpose of this study is to Conduct comparative analysis with approach manner functional respect systematic respect, role. It is shown which the Electronic payment system is better. In this study, the author attempts to find the problems is (bolero, TradeCard, BeXcom) and solutions in switching from the documentary payment system to the electronic one. This conclusion of this study can be summarized as followings. In resoect of the law, bolero should seek to prevert the users from being treated unfairly due to multilateral agreement on Rulebook. TradeCard, BeXcom do not have the proper law that users are governed. so far as the practice problems concerned, stability of computer's operation and security of message interchange should be warranted and improved continuously. Through the standardization of the electronic document and the development of software, the examination of the shipping occuments must be done automatically. Bolero should induce more banks to take part in Bolero, and make the carrier the cost and time in managing the traditional document which will be used for the time being. In respect of information technology and security, to deduce the risk in the electronic settlement system and positively uses the global authentication guideline(Identrus).

  • A legal system is designed to regulate social phenomena appropriately minimizing potential disputes arising out of conflicts with social phenomena and to seek for stability of legal life. The development of information technology and network infrastructure changed way of communication significantly, which realized the new transactional concepts, such as EDI(Electronic Data Interchange), Commerce At Light Speed(CALS) and Electronic Commerce(EC). However, current legal systems of each nation, which are based upon the paper document, do not seem to accomodate such types of emerging transactions. In that context, we can observe many issues which cannot be resolved among the parties involved in such transactions even under the several sui-generis statutes regarding EDI in Korea. Based upon the recognition of the above circumstances, this paper will browse legislative efforts in advanced countries and international institutions like UNCITRAL, and WTO. Also this will cover outstanding issues in relation with the deployment of electronic commerce in Korea and suggest what should be revisited for better accommodation of the changes going on.

  • Now, Using high-speed Internet network for information processing and exchange of information on the research and development is active. To do this, Electronic document standards for more efficient and accurate operations shall be conducted. Accordingly, Standards bodies from around the world proposed various standards, and Typically The EDI is standardized system for exchanging data between companies. EDI is one form of e-commerce. And, through the transactions between companies to standardize data and documents. And using a computer network between the parties directly for sending and receiving. But, Companies and other businesses to deliver the document as defined, so data are fixed and formalized at the time of the extension causes problems and structured data search and processing is impossible. In this paper, While using structure and expanding Internet-standard language the XML for EDI document processing system was designed and implemented.
