  • This paper analyzes the impact of DRA (Demand Response Aggregator) on market power when competing with power generation companies (Gencos) in the electricity market. If congestion occurs in the transmission line, the strategic choice of the power generation company increases exercise of market power. DRA's strategic reduction of power load impacts the strategy of Gencos, which in turn affects the outcome of the load reduction. As the strategy of Gencos changes according to the location of the congested transmission line, the impact on the market depends on the relative location of the congested line and the DRA.

  • In order to reduce costs of electricity energy at periods of peak demand, there has been an exponential interest in Demand Response (DR). This paper discusses the effect on the participants' behavior in response to DR. Under the assumption of perfect competition, the equilibrium point of the electricity market with DR is derived by modeling a DR curve, which is suitable for microeconomic analysis. Cournot model is used to analyze the electricity market of imperfect competition that includes strategic behavior of the generation companies. Strategic behavior with DR makes it harder to compute equilibrium point due to the non-differential function of payoff distribution. This paper presents a solution method for achieving the equilibrium point using the best response function of the strategic players. The effect of DR on the electricity market is illustrated using a test system.

  • The ESP (Electronic Stability Program) is an active control system that controls the posture of the vehicle by sensing the unstable state of the vehicle during braking, driving, or turning. The system works if the vehicle becomes unstable and it is very dangerous to develop it in the actual vehicle. For this reason, many studies have been carried out on the method of developing with simulation such as SIL / EIL. Some advanced companies have already applied it to the product development process. In this study, ESP hydraulic system and braking device model were constructed using SimulationX to build ESP SIL / EIL model. The hydraulic system model was constructed using the actual design parameters and the performance of the hydraulic model was verified by comparing with the actual vehicle test.

  • Product liability is an important regulation factor in automotive industry. ISO 26262 international standard was established as an exemption clause of product liability. In autonomous car, product liability becomes more important, and ISO/PAS international standard was additionally established, but it can be applied to only sensing stage, which can partly make the autonomous car companies exempt the product liability but not completely. Therefore, reform of current legal system is absolutely necessary to commercialize autonomous car until a new international standard is established as a complete exemptions clause.

  • Various thoughts about the concept of space have brought a variety of paradigms to the trend. Just as existing information innovation applied activity and function of physical space for computers to overcome time and space limits, future space transplants intelligence to all the objects as organic whole in electronic and physical space by using IT technology to create emotional space. The most universal housing space in our living has had considerable changes in application of life style and technology. However, advanced technology space which corresponds to acceptance and desires of residents does not meet the needs and emotion of residents because of its limited network system. Therefore, it should be transformed into smart space which stimulates human emotion in the trend of advanced technology culture. As future residential space needs technological elements and design process which can stimulate human emotion, this study is to analyse it as a base of emotional design. This study aims to present characteristics of space image for space realization which meets the age of smart technology in terms of unifying smart space with emotional design, focusing on four future housing galleries shown by construction companies. First, the study speculated smart space in theory and classified characteristics and types of smart space into connectivity, sensitivity, reiteration and variability according to changes in space paradigm. Second, the study identified the background and main points emotional design appeared, analysed types of smart space based on characteristics of experimentation, connectivity and symbolism and speculated characteristics of emotional design in each type. In respect to characteristics of emotional design in smart space, organic connection and sensitivity are remarkably presented through experimentation and reiteration is presented through organic connection and experimentation, and variability through symbolism and experimentation.

  • Recently, Internet based Electronic Commerce is recognized as one of the alternatives for strengthening sales power of small and medium companies. However, small and medium manufacturers can't adjust properly to the new environment because they are in short of money, personnel, and technology. To cope with this problem, this paper deals with the development of virtual manufacturing agent to support sales agent. The sales activity of most of parts manufacturing companies is based on orders of buyers. The process of promotion, receipt and selection of orders of the parts manufacturing is closely coupled with the load status of the production lines. On deciding whether to accept an order or not, as well as negotiating with buyers, sales person needs information such as load and schedule of production lines, manufacturability of the order. Therefore, the functions of virtual manufacturing agents manufacturability analysis, process planning, and scheduling are key features in developing an agent of sales activity for the parts manufacturing business. While most of research on virtual manufacturing system so far is focused on the simulation of each product, this paper deals with the development of agent assisting internet-based product sales by supporting production information promptly. The pilot system of virtual manufacturing agent is implemented using KQML-based agent template and Java-based expert system shell for a small molding company.

  • Koreatech has adopted a long-term co-op program called IPP (Industry Professional Practice) to address problems in higher education of Korea since 2012, but it was anticipated to face many difficulties in implementing the program due to lack of relevant experiences in Korea. In this regard, a performance evaluation scheme was urgently required to judge the effectiveness of the Co-op program and improve the operational efficiency at the same time. This study aimed to develop comprehensive performance evaluation criteria for the co-op programs on the basis of Kirkpatrick's four-level performance evaluation model for training programs, and apply it to a real Co-op operation to test its feasibility. For this purpose, thorough review on the training program evaluation literature and in-depth analyses of overseas cases of co-op performance evaluation were conducted. Then, a set of Co-op performance evaluation criteria was developed and applied to the Koreatech's Co-op operation in 2013. Two Co-op student questionnaire surveys were administered before and after Co-op terms to measure students' reactions to the Co-op program (Level 1) and changes in participating students' attitudes and competencies (Level 2). In addition, employment rates of Co-op participating and non-participating students were compared (Level 4). The analysis findings showed that participating students were quite satisfied with their jobs and companies, and the Co-op program was effective to a certain degree at enhancing non-major competencies and attitudes to occupation of students. Together, the employment rate of Co-op participants, particularly in small- and medium-sized companies, grew significantly in comparison with that of non-participants. In the last part, several directions for improving the effectiveness of the Co-op programs were discussed.
