  • In this paper, the electron transport characteristics in $SiH_4$ has been analysed over the E/N range $0.5{\sim}300[Td]$ and Pressure value 0.5, 1, 2.5 [Torr] by a two-term approximation Boltzmann equation method and by a Monte Carlo simulation. The motion has been calculated to give swarm parameters for the electron drift velocity. diffusion coefficient, electron ionization, mean energy and the electron energy distribution function. The electron energy distribution function has been analysed in $SiH_4$ at E/N=30, 50[Td] for a case of the equilibrium region in the mean electron energy and respective set of electron collision cross sections. The results of Boltzmann equation and Monte carlo simulation have been compared with experimental data by Pollock, Ohmori, cottrell and Walker.

This papa- describes the electron transport characteristics in $ SF_6$ gas calculated for range of E/N values from 150~800(Td) by the Monte Carlo simulation and Boltzmann equation Irethod using a set of electron collision cross sectioos determined by the authors and the values of electron swarm parameters. The results gained that the value of an electron swarm parameter such as the electron drift velocity, the electron ionization or attachment coefficients, longitudinal and transverse diffusion coefficients agree with the experimental and theoretical for a range of E/N. • In this paper, the electron transport characteristic in CF$_4$has been analysed over the E/N range 1~300(Td) by a two-term approximation Boltzmann equation method and by a Monte Carlo simulation. The alteration of cross sections from the literature is avoided as much as possible in the analysis. The motion has been calculated to give swarm parameters for the electron drift velocity(W), diffusion coefficient(D$_{L}$), the ratio of the diffusion coefficient to the mobility(D$_{L}$/$\mu$), mean energy($\varepsilon$), the electron energy distribution function. The electron energy distribution function has been analysed in CF$_4$at E/N=50, 100 and 200(Td) for a case of the equilibrium region in the mean electron energy. The results of Boltzmann equation and Monte Carlo simulation have been compared with experimental data by Y. Nakamura and M. Hayashi.shi.

  • We first deduce a uniform formula forthe Fermi energy of degenerate and relativistic electrons in the weak-magnetic field approximation. Then we obtain an expression of the special solution for the electron Fermi energy through this formula, and express the electron Fermi energy as a function of electron fraction and matter density. Our method is universally suitable for relativistic electron- matter regions in neutron stars in the weak-magnetic field approximation.

  • A study on the preparation of nickel oxide nanoparticles using electron beam irradiation is described. Nickel nanoparticles were synthesized with nickel chloride hexahydrate as a metal precursor and different sodium hydroxide concentrations using electron beam irradiation. The effects of sodium hydroxide concentration and electron beam absorbed doses were investigated. The samples were synthesized at different sodium hydroxide concentrations and with absorbed doses of 100 to 500 kGy at room temperature. Synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The nanoparticle morphologies seemed to be non-spherical and aggregated. The 1:1 molar ratio of nickel chloride hexahydrate and sodium hydroxide showed a higher purity and saturation magnetization value of 13.0 emu/g. The electron beam absorbed dose was increased with increasing nickel nanoparticle nucleation.

  • The conversion efficiency of a cesium iodine coated micro-channel plate is studied. We use the EGS4 code to transport photons and generated electrons until their energies become less than 1keV and 10keV respectively. Among the generated electrons, the emission from the secondary electrons located within the escape depth of 56nm from the photo-converter boundary is estimated by integrating the product of the secondary electrons with a probability depending only on their geometric locations. The secondary electron emission from the generated electrons of energy higher than 100eV is estimated by the 'universal yield curve'. The sum of these provides an estimate for the secondary electron yield and we show that results of applying this algorithm agree with known experimental results. Using this algorithm, we computed secondary electron emissions from a micro-channel plate used in a gas electron multiplier detector that is currently being developed at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute.

The motion has been calculated to give swarm parameters for the electron drift velocity, longitudinal diffusion coefficient, the ratio of the diffusion coefficient to the mobility, electron ionization and attachment coefficients, effective ionization coefficient, mean energy, collision frequency and the electron energy distribution function. The electron energy distribution function has been analysed in $CF_4$ at E/N=5, 10, 100, 200 and 300[Td] for a case of the equilibrium region in the mean electron energy and respective set of electron collision cross sections. The results of Boltzmann equation and Monte Carlo simulation have been compared with experimental data by Y. Nakamura and M. Hayashi. The swarm parameter from the swarm study are expected to serve as a critical test of current theories of low energy electron scattering by atoms and molecules, in particular, as well as crucial information for quantitative simulations of weakly ionized plasmas.

  • This paper describes the electron transport characteristics in $SF_6$-He gas calculated E/N values 0.1~700[Td] by the Monte Carlo simulation and Boltzmann equation method using a set of electron collision cross sections determined by the authors and the values of electron swarm parameters obtained by TOF method. This study gained the values of the electron swarm parameters such as the electron drift velocity, the electron ionization or attachment coefficients, longitudinal and transverse diffusion coefficients for $SF_6$-He gas at a range of E/N. A set of electron collision cross section has been assembled and used in Monte Carlo simulation to predict values of swarm parameters. The result of Boltzmann equation and Monte Carlo Simulation has been compared with experimental data by Ohmori, Lucas and Carter. The swarm parameter from the swarm study are expected to sever as a critical test of current theories of low energy scattering by atoms and molecules.

  • There are two kinds of well-known electron emissions from metal: field and thermionic emission. For thermionic emission, electrons come out of a metal due to the thermal energy, whereas for field emission, electrons tunnel out of a metal through the strong electric field. In this study, the most general electron emission caused by the temperature and electric field with a free electron gas model was considered. The total current density of electron emission comes from the field emission effect, where the electron energy is lower than vacuum, and from the thermionic-emission effect, where the electron energy is higher than vacuum. The total current density of electron emission is shown as a function of the temperature for a constant electric field, and as a function of the electric field for a constant temperature.
