The purpose of this paper is to construct a control algorithm for improving the driving efficiency of 4-wheel-drive in-wheel electric vehicles. The main parts of the vehicle were modeled and the input-output relations of signals were summarized using MATLAB/Simulink. A performance simulator for 4-wheel-drive in-wheel electric vehicles was developed based on the co-simulation environment with a commercial dynamic behavior analysis program called Carsim. Moreover, for improving the driving efficiency of vehicles, a torque distribution algorithm, which distributes the torque to the front and rear wheels, was included in the performance simulator. The effectiveness of the torque distribution algorithm was validated by the SOC simulation using the FTP-75 driving cycle.
High performance lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have attracted considerable attention as essential energy sources for high-technology electrical devices such as electrical vehicles, unmanned drones, uninterruptible power supply, and artificial intelligence robots because of their high energy density (150-250 Wh/kg), long lifetime (> 500 cycles), low toxicity, and low memory effects. Of the high-performance LIB components, cathode materials have a significant effect on the capacity, lifetime, energy density, power density, and operating conditions of high-performance LIBs. This is because cathode materials have limitations with respect to a lower specific capacity and cycling stability as compared to anode materials. In addition, cathode materials present difficulties when used with LIBs in electric vehicles because of their poor rate performance. Therefore, this study summarizes the structural and electrochemical properties of cathode materials for LIBs used in electric vehicles. In addition, we consider unique strategies to improve their structural and electrochemical properties.
Small electric vehicles, such as electric bicycles or electric kickboards, operate with the power charged in a battery mounted in the vehicle, and some of these users use emergency power sockets installed in apartments or public facilities without getting permission. For this reason, the necessity for a simple method to approve the use of power with instant payment system rises for the building managers and small vehicle users as well. In this paper, we propose a technique to charge batteries for small electric vehicles with less than 1 [kW] through a power supply control device installed on the existing 15 [A]. sockets on the common residential properties or public buildings. It also describes the power user authorization algorithm and how to charge fees for the power used. As a result of this research, this paper shows how the user authentication power supply system with the effect of preventing power theft can be realized by creating an environment in which a battery in a small electric vehicle can be easily charged.
Purpose and Method: This study aims to suggest institutional improvements to enhance the response to electric vehicle fires. To this end, we examined the prevalence of electric vehicles, fires, and related legal systems in Seoul. Results: The top-level laws and ordinances related to electric vehicles are centered on distribution policies, so there is no practical fire response plan for electric vehicle fires. In order to apply the same regulations to each local government, it is necessary to set standards and establish a system for firefighting and safety facilities in higher laws. Conclusion: Establishing standards for the installation of fire and safety facilities that take into account the characteristics of electric vehicle fires and improving related systems will ultimately lead to an increase in the penetration rate of electric vehicles.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are the most promising alternative substitute to a significant amount of gasoline vehicles for climate friendly transportation. This paper conducted an EV consumer survey through the telephone for 200 residents living in apartments to predict the EV penetration level in the year 2020. The results of EV consumer survey revealed that EV will be penetrated to 10% of the total vehicles in rental apartments and to 23.6% of the total vehicles in apartments for sale(condominium) until 2020. High EV penetration level, however, will lead to an increase of power consumption and over loading of electrical installations. Integrating more electric vehicles, the capacity of transformer related in apartments should be checked to prevent the over loading of the transformer. This paper checked the possibility of over loading at transformer and suggested the load control system as one of the solutions to reduce the over loading of transformers in apartments. Also this paper reviewed other components that should be checked in the designing of EV recharging infrastructure in apartments.

The intensity of sunlight becomes lower when weather conditions change, which affects whether a solar-electric vehicle can be driven on a shady road. The power delivered by solar cells can be vary depending on the amount of shade. As a result, the battery system is often used to compensate for variations in the power delivered by solar cells. Therefore, studies of power control systems for solar-electric vehicles are required. In this paper, mathematical models for such a power control system are studied and important variables are considered. Simulation and test results show that the mathematical model and actual designs developed here would be effective when used with solar-electric vehicles.
The development of electric vehicle has been accelerated by the recent 'California Initiative' which has required increasing proportions of new vehicle in Los Angeles area to be ZEV(Zero Emission Vehicles) But, because skill of battery is feeble, ZEV regulation was postponed but that is by CO2 restriction and environmental pollution problem the latest because do development require. In the electric vehicle and hybrid electric vehicle, the battery ECU(Battery Management System, BMS) is very important and an essential equipment. The accurate state of charge(SOC) is required for the battery for hybrid electric vehicles. This paper proposes SOC algorithm for the HEV based on the terminal voltage. Also, designed and analyzed battery ECU to apply on HEV.
This paper presents a new multi-machine robust control based on an electric differential system for electric vehicle (EV) applications which is composed of four in-wheel permanent magnet synchronous motors. It is based on a new master-slave direct torque control (DTC) algorithm, which is used for the control of bi-machine traction systems based on a speed model reference adaptive system observer. The use of an electric differential in the design of a new EV constitutes a technological breakthrough. A classical system with a multi-inverter and a multi-machine comprises a three-phase inverter for each machine to be controlled. Another approach consists of only one three-phase inverter for several permanent magnet synchronous machines. The control of multi-machine single-inverter systems is the subject of this study. Several methods have been proposed for the control of multi-machine single-inverter systems. In this study, a new master-slave based DTC strategy is developed to generate an electric differential system. The entire system is simulated by Matlab/Simulink. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the new multi-machine robust control based on an electric differential system for use in EV applications.

European and American countries are actively promoting eco-friendly cars to reduce exhaust emissions from internal combustion engines. In Korea, the "4th Basic Plan for Eco-Friendly Vehicles" aims to promote eco-friendly cars by improving charging infrastructure, expanding incentive systems, and targeting the supply of 1.13 million eco-friendly cars by 2025. As rapid growth in the number of electric vehicles sold is expected, estimates are required of this growth and corresponding power demands. In this study, the authors used a growth model to predict future growth in the electric vehicle market and a previously derived electricity generation model to estimate corresponding power demands up to 2036, the target year of the "10th Basic Plan for Power Supply and Demand". The results obtained provide useful basic research data for future electric vehicle infrastructure planning.

In the hope of realizing carbon neutrality, Korea has established the goal of expanding the supply of hydrogen electric vehicles through a roadmap to revitalize the hydrogen economy. A prerequisite for successful supply expansion is securing the safety of hydrogen electric vehicles. Certain parts, such as the hydrogen transport pipe and tank, in hydrogen electric vehicles are exposed to high-pressure hydrogen gas over long periods of time, so the hydrogen enters the grain boundary of material, resulting in a degradation of the parts referred to as hydrogen embrittlement. In addition, since the safety of parts utilizing hydrogen varies depending on the type of material used and its environmental characteristics, the necessity for the enactment of a hydrogen embrittlement regulation has emerged and is still being discussed as a Global Technical Regulation (GTR). In this paper, we analyze a hydrogen compatibility material evaluation method discussed in GTR and present a direction for the development of Korean-type hydrogen compatibility material evaluation methods.
