  • Power Supply System for electric railways is diversified with technical development and is required high technologies. especially, recently there is required many research and development for earthing to ensure safety of people and protection of installations. Generally, leakage resistance is high between rail and ground at tunnel section of subway. because of short circuit of feeding line, earthing interference by transient overvoltage between signals and communication system, and insulation failure, it can damage to human and equipments To minimize these obstacles, earthing equipment is installed at underground section of railway, but it brings about problems in accordance with operate each earthing system to be not enough required protection provisions for electrified railways. This paper proposes effective earthing method to be concerned about installation cost and maintenance. The validity of the proposed earth method is verified by simulation results at underground section of railways.

  • KEPCO has a plan to operate 765kV electric power network from June, 2001, by the KEPCO's plan. We have developed the extra-high voltage class equipments for 765kV substation. Inpecial, we have proceeded the developments of 800kV Gas Insulated Switchgear from January 1998 to now. Until now we completed the test of a general characteric tests of GIS, the short-circuit test of GCB. DS. ES. HSGS.

  • The distributed digital control system has many shared common components, and a single fault in the system may have effects on not a single function. Not as in an analog system, the faults in a digital system usually make discrete and abrupt changes in its output, which are hard to be expected. To cope with these situations, the fault-tolerance is an inevitable property of a distributed control system. A distributed digital control system consists of many equipments, and each equipment can be implemented by many different technologies. The fault-tolerance has to be implemented depend-ing on the overall architecture and how each equipment is implemented. The paper analyzes and compares the strategies and tactics to add the fault-tolerances in a distributed digital control system, and studies how they can be combined appropriately.

  • In this study, in attempt to develop a new application technique of discharge plasma, we employed a kind of discharging method called SPCP ( short for Surface discharge induced Plasma Chemical Process). Applications of SPCP have been widely used for years. Compact ozonizers to deodorize household equipments like refrigerators we a part of such applications. We took advantages of the compactness and durability of the SPCP electrode to set up an experimental apparatus for decompositing vapor of aromatic hydrocarbons such as toluene, benzene and xylenes, which are major substances given off In painting or washing processes and aggravate working conditions. Results obtained from this study are summarized as follows. 1) Aromatic hydrocarbon vapors of up to 2,000ppm were almost thoroughly decomposed at the flow rate of 4ℓ/min or lower under the discharge with electric power of 400 Watts. 2) In dry air, as the decomposition progresses, tar-like substance deposits on the discharging areas, which deteriorated the decomposition rate in the end. This substance, however, was almost thoroughly removed by keeping discharge in dry air containing no solvent vapor.

  • It is very important for electric utility to expand generating facilities and transmission equipments in accordance with the increase of electricity demand. Regional electricity demand forecasting is among the most important step for long-term investment and power supply planning. The main objectives of this paper are to develop the methodologies for forecasting regional load demand. The Model consists of four models, regional economy, regional electricity energy demand, areal electricity energy demand. and areal peak load demand. This paper mainly suggests regional electricity energy demand model and areal peak load demand. A case study is also presented.

  • 최근에, 평활용 직류 커패시터가 설치된 다이오드 정류기가 가전제품 및 교류 운전 장치와 같은 전자 장치에 점점 많이 사용되고 있고, 이러한 부하에 의해서 발생하는 고조파 문제가 점차 중요한 문제로 부각되고 있다. 또한, 3상 4선식 전력 시스템은 상업용 빌딩이나 제조 플랜트 등에 전력을 공급하는 방법으로 많이 사용되고 있는데 이러한 시스템에서는 중성선에 과도한 전류가 흐르게 되고, 중성선 전류는 기본적으로 3고조파 성분으로 중성선 도체 사이즈 선정의 실패나 중성점의 전위를 상승시키거나 변압기의 과열 현상 등을 유발할 수 있다. 이러한 관점에서 본 논문에서는 직접 보상전압 추출기법으로 동작하는 직렬 형 능동 필터를 제안하며, 성능함수 알고리즘의 장점은 게인을 곱하지 않고 보상 전압을 직접 구함으로써, 어떠한 다른 알고리즘보다 보상 전압 계산 방법이 간단하다. 제안된 알고리즘의 타당성을 증명하기 위하여 프로토타입 능동 필터를 제작하여 실험을 수행하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 적외선 무선 센서 노드 및 무인감시카메라를 이용한 축사 관리 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. 제안하는 축사 관리 시스템은 상시 축사 모니터링, 침입 감지, 전기기기 자동제어 기능을 제공한다. 첫째, 제안하는 시스템은 무인감시카메라를 이용하여 축사와 소의 상태를 24시간 모니터링 할 수 있으며, 적외선 무선 센서 노드를 사용하여 외부 침입자를 감지할 수 있다. 둘째, 전원제어기를 사용하여 축사 내부 전기기기의 전원을 제어할 수 있다. 마지막으로 스마트폰앱 프로그램을 사용하여 이들 컴포넌트를 통합하고, 테스트베드를 통해 제안하는 시스템의 유효성을 검증한다.

  • In order to evaluate the structural safety from an earthquake, the seismic analysis of large structures such as GIS in electric power substations and equipments for nuclear power plant has been carried out because the seismic qualification by experiment is very expensive. This paper presents the seismic analysis of the 72.5kV GIS produced by LGIS. The finite element model of the GIS is developed and analyzed using ANSYS. The model consists of beam elements for the enclosures and mass elements for the conductors and the mechanisms. Using the transient analysis under seismic load, the structural safety is verified.

  • Seismic qualification of the Air Cleaning Units for nuclear power plant Ulchin 5&6 has been performed with the guideline of ASME Section III and IEEE 344 code. By using the structural and geometrical similarity analysis, the three models to be analyzed are condensed into a single model and, at the same time, the excitation forces and other operating loads for each model are encompassed with respect to different loading conditions. As the fundamental frequencies of the structure are found to be less than 33Hz, which is the upper frequency limit of the seismic load, response spectrum analysis using ANSYS is performed in order to combine the modal stresses within the frequency limit. In order to confirm the structural and electric stability of the major components, modal analysis theory is adopted to derive the required response spectrum at the component locations. As the all combined stresses obtained from the above procedures are less than allowable stresses and no mechanical or electrical failures are found from the seismic testing, the authors confirm the safety of the nuclear equipments Air Cleaning Units studied in this paper.

  • In this study, a relationship between AC discharge progress and the radiated electromagnetic waves were investigated by measuring electromagnetic waves using a biconical antenna and a spectrum analyzer. The characteristics of frequency spectrum of the radiated electromagnetic waves was measured at the atmospheric pressure in liquid nitrogen($LN_2$) during partial discharges progress in nonuniform electric field depend on AC power supply. From this results, it was confirmed that when partial discharge was produced in liquid nitrogen, the signal of partial discharge was detected by frequency spectrum of the radiated electromagnetic waves. It is considered that these results obtained from this investigation may be used as fundamental data for diagnosis and prediction of insulation on superconducting and cryogenic power equipments.
