복합 압전 트랜스듀서의 전기적 특성 (Electrical properties of a composite piezoelectric transducer)

  • A composite piezoelectric ceramic transducer is fabricated with three piezoelectric ceramic disk vibrators and two sheets of thin insulator. Its equivalent circuit is derived from the Mason's model of a thickness-driven piezoelectric vibrator. When the electric input near its fundamental resonance frequency is applied to the center vibrator and the output voltages across the left and the right vibrators are connected in series to the resistor loads, the load characteristics at resonance frequencies under the various resistor loads and the frequency characteristics near the resonance frequency without load are investigated. Furthermore, symbolic expressions for input impedances, voltage ratios, resonance frequencies, and bandwidths are derived. The data calculated from those symbolic expressions are agreed well with the measurement data.

  • 2002부터 미국에서 전기화재 보호를 위하여 AFCI(Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter)사용이 의무화되었으며 중성선의 선로저항을 이용하여 아크를 검출하는 방식의 AFCI의 경우 중성선 선로저항의 저항온도계수에 대한 온도보상이 필요하다. 이러한 온도보상회로를 주문형반도체(ASIC)에서 구현하는 방안을 제시하고 ARC 신호에 대하여 시뮬레이션하여 전기적 특성 및 온도특성을 검증하였다.

Comparisons of Linear Characteristic for Shape of Stator Teeth of Hall Effect Torque Sensor

  • Electric Power Steering (EPS) system is superior to conventional Hydraulic Power Steering (HPS) system in aspect of fuel economy and environmental concerns. The EPS system consists of torque sensor, electric motor, ECU (Electric Control Unit), gears and etc. Among the elements, the torque sensor is one of the core technologies of which output signal is used for main input of EPS controller. Usually, the torque sensor has used torsion bar to transform torsion angle into torque and needs linear characteristic in terms of flux variation with respect to rotation angle of permanent magnet. The torsion angle of both ends of a torsion bar is measured by a contact variable resistor. In this paper, the sensor is accurately analyzed using 3D finite element method and its characteristics with respect to four different shapes of the stator teeth are compared. The four shapes are rectangular, triangular, trapezoidal and circular type.

  • A SRM inverter has very low switching frequency. This results in reducing the burden for a high-speed of the gate-amp interface circuit. and the linearity of optocoupler is used to protect the intanteneous peak current for the stable operation In this paper, series resistor is used to equal the current sharing of each switching device and a linear gate-amp is proposed to protect the intanteneous peak current which occurs in transient state.

  • In this work, we have developed the off-line diagnostic system for power cable insulation using DC voltage decay method to diagnose the insulation degradation of underground power cables. Measurement errors of diagnostic system are less than 1% for $1T{\Omega}$ internal resistor. We have also developed measurement and diagnostic programs for win95 which is suitable for the database construction and the management of data. We could conclude that it is possible to apply this system to the multi-grounded underground cable systems.

  • As the use of capacitors in electrical appliances and electrical control circuits increases, the related electrical fire is increasing. There are various parts such as resistors, coils, and capacitors that make up an electric circuit. Among them, the ignition of a capacitor with a temporary charging function is closely related to the structural characteristics of the capacitor. Capacitors can explode due to various reasons, and the high heat generated when they explode ignites the inflammable dielectric, which in turn burns the inflammable materials such as the surrounding electric wires and spreads into a fire. In this paper, the ignition mechanism is studied by conducting a reenactment experiment on the various probabilities that can be ignited in an electric capacitor, and the prevention measures to be applied to the fire prevention are presented.

  • High critical current density, high n value, multiple faults endurances, and fast recovery characteristics of YBCO thin films are very attractive characteristics for developing resistive type superconducting fault current limiters. But due to the limited current and voltage ratings of one YBCO module, it is needed to construct series and parallel module connections for high capacity electric networks. Especially for distribution network, more than 30 units should be connected in series to meet voltage level. So in order to construct distribution-level superconducting fault current limiter, simultaneous quench in one YBCO thin films should be realized, and furthermore, quench should be occurred in all fault current limiting units equally to avoid local heating and failures. In this paper, we proposed optimum design of YBCO thin films for fault current limiting module and technical method using shunt resistor to achieve simultaneous quench between multi current limiting units. From the analytical and the experimental results, optimal current path and thickness of shunt material was determined for YBCO thin films and shunt resistor between modules was developed. Finally, 14 kV one phase resistive fault current limiter using multi YBCO thin films was constructed and it was possible to get satisfactory test results.

  • DC series motor has been widely applicated in industry due to many advantageous characteristics, such as high starting torque, easy construction of its controller, and cost economy, etc.. However, by high starting current, excessive surge voltage, and so on, many problems which could make engineers relinguish to use it are induced. In this paper, various protection methods for power circuit are discussed. Particularly, a new proposed snubber circuit which consists of two diodes, one capacitor, and a resistor increases the performance with respect to the suppression of the surge voltage. Furthermore, the plugging algorithm, by checking the armature current and voltage and controlling the field coil current, is designed and implemented. Also, these methods and algorithms were applicated in electric vehicle, and we could find its stability to be considerably improved.

  • In the case of synchronous machines, certain power system disturbances cause the induced rotor current to assume negative values when no static converter is present. A converter, however. prevents negative current from flowing, so that overvoltages occur. The overvoltages can be effectively limited as crowbar circuit using GTO. This newly proposed crowbar circuit with current limiting resistor absorbs energy when overvoltage comes from power system repeatedly and is verified through experiment.
