Development for Tilting Train Dynamics Motion Base

  • This paper describes the construction of a half sphere screen driving tilting simulator that can perform six degree-of-freedom (DOF) motions simulator to a tilting train. The mathematical equations of Tilting Train dynamics are first derived from the 6-DOF bicycle model and incorporated with the bogie, carbody, and suspension subsystems. The equations of motion are then programmed by visual C++ code. To achieve the simulator functions, a motion platform that is constructed by six electric-driven actuators is designed, and its kinetics/inverse kinetics analysis is also conducted. Driver operation signals such as carbady angle, accelerator, and tilting positions are measured to trigger the Tilting dynamics calculation and further actuate the cylinders by the motion platform control program. In addition, a digital PID controller is added to achieve the stable and accurate displacements of the motion platform. The experiments prove that the designed simulator is adequate in performing some special rail road driving situations discussed in this paper.

  • 운전자에게 편의성을 제공하는 차량의 주행관련 Advanced driver assist system (ADAS)에는 차량의 종방향과 횡방향 운동에 대한 제어기가 요구된다. 횡방향 제어를 위해서는 조향 시스템의 조향각 제어가 요구되는데 최근 구조적으로 간단하고 연비향상, 차량의 중량 감소, 빠른 응답성을 가지고 있는 전기적 파워 조향 (Electric power steering, EPS) 시스템이 자동차 산업에서 널리 사용되고 있다. 차량의 주행관련 ADAS를 사용하여 자율 주행 시 EPS 시스템은 상위 제어기에서 계산된 필요한 조향각을 추종 할 수 있도록 조향 핸들의 각 제어를 해야 한다. 그러나 일반적인 EPS 시스템은 운전자가 조향 핸들에 인가된 토크를 보조해 줄 수 있는 토크를 출력해 준다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하는 방법들을 설명한다. 먼저 EPS 시스템의 기본 기능에 대해서 설명을 하고, 자율 추행 차량을 위한 조항 핸들의 각 제어를 위한 proportional-integral 제어, 슬라이딩 모드 제어 (Sliding mode control), 관측기 기반 비선형 댐핑 제어(Observer based nonlinear damping control) 등과 같은 다양한 기법의 제어 알고리즘들에 대한 방법들이 고찰되었다.

자동차 시동시스템의 암전류 누설에 의한 고장사례연구 (Failure Examples for Parasitic Current Leakage of Starting System in Automotive)

  • The purpose of this paper is to study and analysis the failure examples for parasitic current leakage produced in starting system on gasoline engine. It verified the discharge of battery by electric leakage because of internal wiring damage problem for CD auto changer installed in car. Also, it verified the no-stating phenomenon because of deposit forming by chemical reaction of battery fluid between battery post and cable fixing parts. It verified the damage for brush holder and commutator mixing by internal short phenomenon because of brush carbon a particle and engine oil that was flowed into internal of starting motor. It verified the working phenomenon of audio by a point of contact even if the driver turn to "LOCK" position the key.

조향감을 고려한 자동차용 전동조향장치의 퍼지제어기의 개발 (Development of Fuzzy Controller for Electric Power Steering Considering Steering Feel)

  • The test method using simulator to objectively measure the steering feel from several drivers was proposed. It has also described the ideas to analyse the principal factors affecting the steering feel of the driver using the correlation analysis of the measured data and the questionnaire. Proportional Derivative(PD) controller has been used to measure the steering feel, and the control parameters have been selected to obtain the optimal steering feel. Membership frictions of Sugeno fuzzy model are constructed from the assist torque values calculated from PD controller at each steering state. Moreover to verify the performance, this fuzzy controller has been compared with the another fuzzy controller of which membership frictions are derived from the knowledge of drivers. As a result it can be concluded that the proposed fuzzy controller improves the steering feel at each steering state more than any other conventional methods.

딥스틱게이지형 소형 엔진열화감지센서 개발 (Development of a Dipstick Gage Type Small Engine oil Deterioration Detection Sensor)

  • A small engine-oil-deterioration detection sensor was developed and installed at the tip of a dipstick gage. The sensor part was manufactured using printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing technology. A set of sensor covers was installed in order to protect the sensor and realize good signal stability. The small engine-oil-deterioration detection sensor system comprised a dual sensor having etched copper electrodes coated with gold and ceramic, a flexible PCB (FPCB) acting as electric wire, and a dummy PCB with only a lock connector. The sensor can easily be installed by insertion through the guide tube of a dipstick gage. Thus, a driver can easily handle it without further installation equipment. The sensor can determine the level of deterioration in the engine oil by estimating the corresponding dielectric constant of the engine oil.

  • This paper is aimed to develop the circuit of a coil-type oil sensor packaged to the automotive engine oil monitoring the deterioration in the driving condition and let a driver notify the optimized time for the exchange of engine oil. By applying the principle which the deterioration of automotive engine oil can be expressed to the dielectric constant, the capacitance bridge circuit and the integrator circuit are designed and packaged to a coil-typed engine oil. In this study. the range of operating temperature of engine oil is experimentally recommended within 55$^{\circ}C$ for the stability of a sensor designed. It is concluded that the characteristics of output voltage converted from the dielectric constant are linearly distributed.

  • In this study, we measured and analyzed the interior noise, the rolling noise and the engine noise at Honam line(Seodaejeon- Jangseong) for passenger and power cars. The noise level is below 69㏈A for Seamaeul PMC(Powered Motor Car) coachs, below 65㏈A for Seamaeul and Mukungwha coachs, over 80㏈A for the driver's room of PMC and DEL (Diesel-Electric Locomotive). We also proposed the criteria of interior noise in free field conditions, below 67㏈A for passenger cars, below 86㏈A for power cars.

횡풍하의 차량 외란 추정을 이용한 차선 유지 조향 보조 제어기 설계 (Design of Lane Keeping Steering Assist Controller Using Vehicle Lateral Disturbance Estimation under Cross Wind)

  • This paper presents steering controller for unintended lane departure avoidance under crosswind using vehicle lateral disturbance estimation. Vehicles exposed to crosswind are more likely to deviate from lane, which can lead to accidents. To prevent this, a lateral disturbance estimator and steering controller for compensating disturbance have been proposed. The disturbance affecting lateral motion of the vehicle is estimated using Kalman filter, which is on the basis of the 2-DOF bicycle model and Electric Power Steering (EPS) module. A sliding mode controller is designed to avoid unintended the lane departure using the estimated disturbance. The controller is based on the 2-DOF bicycle model and the vision-based error dynamic model. A torque controller is used to provide appropriate assist torque to driver. The performance of proposed estimator and controller is evaluated via computer simulation using Matlab/Simulink.

차량 제어 기술 및 선진 연구 동향 (Vehicle Dynamics Control Applications to Automobiles: Survey and Some New Trends)

  • This paper describes control applications in automobiles. Many aspects of automotive applications of advanced control methods, which include suspension systems, stability control systems, engines, hybrid vehicle control systems, electric vehicle controls systems, advanced driver assistance systems and automated driving control systems, are reviewed. The control methods used in each area are briefly reviewed to help readers understand the applicability and effectiveness of these methods. In addition, some new trends in the research of automotive applications are described.

  • One of the most important is to insure that a new circuit design is qualified far release before it is scheduled for manufacturing, test, assembly and delivery. Due to various causes, there happens to be a low yield in the wafer process. Wafer test is a critical process in analyzing the chip characteristics in the EDS(electric die sorting) using analytic tools -wafer map, wafer summary and datalog. In this paper, we propose new analytic map algorithms for DDI chip test data. Using the proposed analytic map algorithms, we expect to improve the yield, quality and analysis time.
