  • This paper presents an investigation of abnormal wear of a contact jig between a nail and a nail fixture in electric resistance welding. To perform an analysis on the abnormal wear phenomenon, several methods are provided. Based on the theory of electric resistance welding, are analyzed. Using microscopic analysis, surface craters are observed. In the measurement of the electric current flow in the nail fixture, the current flow distribution is measured. From several analyses, the cause of abnormal wear in the contact jig is measured using the electric discharge of high current density at the inflow point of the electric supply to the nail fixture. An alternative shape for normal wear is proposed.

  • In this study, We have discussed the development of a diagnostic device to detect and prevent electrical fire due to the arc caused by contact failure and partial disconnection at the connection part of the three-phase electric heater wiring used in the industrial field. The arc caused by contact failure and partial disconnection at the connection part of the electric heater shows a change in the current effective value. Therefore, it is possible to determine whether there exists a defect by analyzing the current unbalance factor and the number of current fluctuations with the diagnostic apparatus. The three-phase unbalanced heater is considered to be capable of determining defects through periodic measurement and trend analysis of the current unbalance factor. It is also expected that this device can be used not only for electric heaters but also for detection of defects in wiring and connections of electrical equipment having a characteristic of constant load current.

  • Copper is widely used in electric wire, cable, conductor in electric devices. As the demand for electric power is increasing rapidly, electric power devices are getting amazingly bigger and complicated. The using of light-weight conductor can reduce the size and making cost of the electric devices. In high-frequency application, Electric current the current in a conductor tends to shift to the surface of the conductor, resulting in an uneven current distribution in the inner conductor. In the extreme case the current may essentially concentrate in the "skin" of the inner conductor as a surface current. In high frequency application, therefore, inner area of copper conductor may replace with aluminum conductor, which reduces the weight of conductor. This paper describes the manufacture and evaluation of composite conductors made of copper and aluminum.

  • This paper systematically investigates the influence of device parameters spread on the current distribution of paralleled silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs. First, a variation coefficient is introduced and used as the evaluating norm for the parameters spread. Then a sample of 30 SiC MOSFET devices from the same batch of a well-known company is selected and tested under the same conditions as those on datasheet. It is found that there is big difference among parameters spread. Furthermore, comprehensive theoretical and simulation analyses are carried out to study the sensitivity of the current imbalance to variations of the device parameters. Based on the concept of the control variable method, the influence of each device parameter on the steady-state and transient current distributions of paralleled SiC MOSFETs are verified separately by experiments. Finally, some screening suggestions of devices or chips before parallel-connection are provided in terms of different applications and different driver configurations.

  • It is usual to operate the long transmission line with transposition of each phase in order to avoid voltage unbalance due to unbalanced capacitances at each phase of the line end. This paper described the Ferranti voltage rise of line end, charging current and secondary arc current according to the transposition of line or not. The positive and negative sequence current was derived by the phase current, and then the unbalanced rate was calculated. Then, we obtained the reclosing dead time of the single phase reclosing scheme for 500 kV single circuit horizontal arrangement transmission line system.

  • This paper presents the implementation and characteristic analysis of a drive system for a three-phase permanent magnet motor with independent excitation winding that is applicable for electric bicycles. The design features improves the phase current waveform, output power, and torque by using advance angle control. This adjusts the phase angle of each phase current in relation to back EMF. In addition, a DC-side PI current control is performed through PWM generation circuit using a low-cost one-chip microcontroller and a CPLD chip, resulting in reduced system costs. Finally, the validity of this control scheme for driving electric bicycles and output/torque improvement characteristics are verified through analysis and experimental results.

  • This paper is aimed to find electrical fire danger for analyzing the characteristics of temperature, current and voltage signals for motor on electric fan. In order to attain this purpose, detected were the temperature, current and voltage signals on electric wire with free (normal state) and locked (abnormal state) motor. For voltage and current signals, voltage signal is no big difference with normal and abnormal states and current signal is higher in abnormal state (highest 309 mA) than the normal state (highest 203 mA). In the case of Temperature signal, the temperature distribution of the motor as a whole is different. It is difference in the case of the normal state $4^{\circ}C$ and the abnormal state $18^{\circ}C$. In particular, most of the electric wiring to the motor of the fan is attached to the fixture of motor back. Considering at allowable temperature ($60^{\circ}C$) of the electric wire could be accelerated to insulation deterioration. The results of this study will be effectively used in analyzing for electric fire and developing the preventive devices of electric fan.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this systematic review was to collect and discuss the technique of adhesive systems application on dentin substrate under electric current. Materials and Methods: The first search strategy was based on data available at PubMed, LILACS, Scielo, Scopus, and Cochrane Library, using a combination of descriptors such as "dentin bond agents OR adhesive system AND electric current OR electrobond" or "dentin bonding agents OR dentin bonding agent application OR adhesive system AND electric current OR electrobond", with no limit regarding the publication year. The second search strategy was based on the articles' references found previously. An additional search strategy was applied that concerned the proposed theme in the SBU-UNICAMP (Unicamp's Library System Institutional Repository). Results: Twelve studies published between 2006 and 2020 were found. The analyses of the selected studies showed that the use of electric current during adhesive systems application on dentin, whether conventional or self-conditioning, increases resinous monomer infiltration in the dentin substrate, which improves the hybridization processes and the bond strength of the restorative material to dentin. Conclusions: Despite the favorable results related to the use of this technique, there is still no specific protocol for the application of adhesive systems under electric current.

  • There are over 30[%] of electric fires in Korea happened at wire or wiring devices. For its prevention many safety devices are set up electric equipments. These safety devices are not working in a rated current's condition of electric equipment. But when wire is partially disconnected, electric fire is able to be happened even though current is smaller than a rated current value. This paper studied thermal characteristics and fire ability when wire in plug is partially disconnected. The experiment is progressed a method that inner wire of plug is partially disconnected and after that current that is less than a rated current is flowed. As the result, heating occurred in near of partially disconnected wire makes that outer sheath is melted, plug cover is carbonized, and even sometimes wire is fused. And results of analysis of thermal image of partially disconnected wire happened in plug, it shows a difference to heating distribution and temperature appeared surface of plug depend on a progress of a partially disconnected wire.

  • This paper presents a graphical method for hazard assessment of electric shock by safety criteria. For the human body to be safety actual body current should not exceed safety criteria, i.e. allowable body current. The assessment method presented in this paper is based m the safety criteria of the IEEE Standard 80 as well as the IEC 479-1. The hazard can be assessed in terms of alterable touch voltages instead of alterable body current. Thus, the hazard assessment of given electric shock condition is referred to a procedure by which the actual touch voltages are compared with the allowable (safe) touch voltages. Since the IEC 479-1 safety criteria are nonlinear, the graphical method is presented for the hazard assessment. Body current and body voltage are calculated with the allowable touch voltage. A comparison of the safety criteria of two widely accepted standards, i.e. the IEEE Std 80 End the IEC 479-1 is proposed. Also Thevenin equivalent resistance is obtained from electric shock model expressed by two-port earth-grid-foot system. On the basis of calculated results, the allowable touch voltage, the body current and the body voltage we can conduct the hazard or safety assessment and estimate the severity of electric shock.
