This study examines the services provided by the elderly welfare center in Korea, which have entered the aged society since 2017. And it suggests future direction of development. In order to present the direction of development, I surveyed three cases in Germany, Sweden, and Japan and conducted In-depth Interviews with 12 elderly people. According to the interviews and case studies, first, it is necessary to make people participate in many programs, secondly, it should be made that the welfare centers are not used only by elderly people, third, elderly people should be provided with program to participate in self, it is important. Currently, Welfare Centers are applying different programs in different regions, so it is a limitation of this study that I do not know how the program is going on. In future research, it is necessary to investigate cases in Korea and specific programs that can be applied to local characteristics and common without regional difference.

The study looked into the effect of internet utilization (utilization frequency and utilization ability in internet) on the life satisfaction level for the elderly in depth. In order to verify the correlation of two variables, a mediating model structured by ego integrity was used which gave out the Seoul welfare panel data created by Seoul welfare foundation in 2010. The total sample size was a group of 1862 elders aged over 60. When it came to our research methods, structured equation analysis was applied to verify the mediating effect and theoretical background. The findings are as follows: First, elderly's utilization frequency in internet is not an influencing factor to life satisfaction and elderly's utilization ability in internet is an influencing factor to life satisfaction. Second, the level of social activity did function as partial mediator on relationship between elderly's utilization ability in internet and life satisfaction. This study indicates theoretical and practical interventions to promote elderly's utilization in internet.

The purpose of this study were; 1) to describe the present situations of dementia-related characteristics in the welfare for the elderly; 2) to explain the perception of the staffs on the effect of the features in physical living environment and to identify the variables influencing this perception; and 3) to examine the present provisions of the features in physical living environment and their effects on making a therapeutic environment. Questionnaires by 122 staffs in the welfare facilities for the elderly were used as a final sample of the analysis. Data were collected using a self-administered survey. The results of the study provided the information on the major symptoms or behaviors of demented elderly with respect to frequencies of occurances and caring and the way of manipulating the physical environment to slow down the progression of the disease and making the demented elderly live independently as much as possible to achieve their quality of life.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the economic and social impact of the SEP in which the elderly participate by using the blended return on investment (BROI), economic return on investment (EROI), and social return on investment (SROI) research methods. And the sustainable conditions of SEP were confirmed. This study was conducted with one market-type SEP approved by the Korea Elderly Labor Force Development Institute (KLFDI), one preliminary social enterprise approved by Changwon City Hall, and one market-type SEP operated by a social welfare center for the elderly. As a result of the study, it was found that EROI, SROI, and BROI were the highest in the SEP of preliminary social enterprises operated by subsidies in Changwon.However, the difference between EROI and SROI was greatest in the market-type SEP operated by the elderly social welfare center. There was a big difference between economic and social impacts. The social influence of the elderly was evaluated to be higher than the income of the elderly.

Recently, community welfare centers including the elderly welfare centers are also interested in the issue of loneliness and are attempting a comprehensive approach to care for the elderly in the community.The problem is that there is a need for volunteers who are sustainable, but trained semi-professionals rather than non-professionals.Therefore, ways to provide education programs that can be based on continuous supplementation and specialization of manpower and to apply them to the field are being sought.The purpose of this study is to present a plan through examples with the aim of linking college students majoring in social welfare as a major resource for preventing loneliness of elderly people living alone in local communities through volunteer activities. It was suggested that volunteer activities of college students majoring in social welfare should be provided more systematically to the elderly living alone in the community.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of information education satisfaction of the elderly welfare center on information utilization satisfaction and life satisfaction of the elderly. For this purpose, we surveyed the elderly who were enrolled in the elderly welfare center from September 02 to September 24, 2015. First, in the information cognition improvement of the elderly, it was found that the content of education of information, education instructor, and educational environment are important. And in the improvement of the information experience of the elderly, it was found that the education contents, the education method, the instructor and the educational environment factors of the satisfaction of information education were important factors. Second, in the improvement of personal factors satisfaction of the elderly, it was found that the content of education of information and education and the factors of education instructor were important factors. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between information literacy and satisfaction of the elderly.

With people leaving the countryside to the cities as a result of industrialization and urbanization and drastic reduction of school children due to low birthrate, nationwide, total 3,438 schools have been shut down following the closed schools policy. Consequently, local governments have been active in selling, utilizing, and leasing the closed schools but there are still 466 closed schools that need to be addressed quickly. In addition to this phenomenon, aging population has become an important issue, and demand for elderly welfare facilities population is also increasing as a result. However, the supply of welfare services remains inadequate. This study was conducted in an attempt to solve both local and social problems at the same time, caused by the closing of schools and an aging population, through the use of closed schools as elderly welfare facilities, and suggests plans for per-unit space according to its type, and prototype, through research analysis of practical use, based on case studies. With the conclusions of both advantages and disadvantages, drawn from its type, we are hoping to be able to use this study by adapting its type, or mixing, according to one's needs.

Like all other European countries, as a result of gradual industrialization, Germany is just before the start of new social system; the so-called 'aged society'. Over half of the century, Germany focused their welfare system on facilities. However, with the start of the new 'aged society', they introduced a new concept which consists mainly on home care and community care. These new concepts resulted from the general idea that even elderly have the right to live an independent quality life. Therefore, to satisfy the elderly with such life it has been seen as necessary not only to offer them efficient protection but to introduce an economical welfare system and facility scheme. The regional integration plan for welfare is one of the open schemes in which the lifestyle of the elderly are seen as the whole. Participated by several members and specialists of all social standings, necessary facilities are planned. By looking into a project example carried out in Germany, this study is aimed to increase the quality of the elderly welfare system and facility construction plan.

This study examined how the management of workers for elderly welfare services affects their turnover intention and verified the analysis of mediating effects of organizational commitment and job satisfaction. To this end, the study conducted a survey of 429 workers at elderly care facilities in Gwang-ju and South Jeolla Province. The study shows following results. First, compensation scheme and organizational culture have a significantly positive influence on their organizational commitment and job satisfaction. Second, empowerment, organizational commitment and job satisfaction have a significant positive effect on their turnover intention. To conclude, its findings will help to present reference data for the improvement of job satisfaction of workers for elderly welfare services.

The objective of this study is to examine the association of social networks and medical care utilization of elderly living alone depending on self-rated health status, and also to measure the moderating effects of welfare services for elderly. To this purpose, the data which was collected from the 2014 National Survey on Elderly in Korea was analyzed by Chi-square test and Poisson regression. According to the results, social networks and elderly welfare services affected to medical care utilization of elderly living alone, only who aware of their self-rated health status as bad. With this group, the frequency of contact with family and participation in lifelong education had a significant effect on increasing medical care utilization. In contrast, the frequency of contact with neighbors and the participation in elderly employment program were significant to reduce the utilization of medical care. Furthermore, the moderating effects of elderly welfare services were also measured that formal social gathering has an effect of increasing the medical care utilization of elderly living alone by expansion of their social networks. Based on these results, this study consequently has an implication for suggesting expansion of elderly welfare services, which might be an alternative to social networks of elderly living alone, and also for seeking the direction of political intervention that helps health promotion and disease prevention through the research of medical care utilization.
