Fault Isolation Filter Design Using Left Eigenstructure Assignment Scheme (좌 고유구조 지정기법을 이용한 고장분리 필터 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel fault isolation filter design method using the left eigenstructure assignment scheme proposed by Choi et. al., The proposed filter shows good fault isolation performance with exact eigenstructure assignment. An eigenstructure assignment methodology which satisfies the required fault isolation conditions is also proposed. The proposed method guarantees that the corrupted m simultaneous faults can be isolated when the number of available output measurements are (m+1).

  • This paper generalizes the previous results of the closed-loop eigenstructure assignment via output feedback in linear multivariable systems. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the closed-loop eigenstructure assignment by output feedback are presented. Some known results on entire eigenstructure assignment are deduced from this results.

  • In this paper, we present a systematic optimization method that has flexibility of exact assignment of eigenstructure with disturbance suppression and fault isolation capability. The eigenstructure for fault isolation is assigned by the inclusion of a eigenstructure assignment problem in the objective function as well as a disturbance suppression term is also included in the objective function enhance the robustness of the control scheme. The proposed scheme is applied to designing asimple system to confirm the usefulness of the scheme.

  • Eigenstructure assignment is a typical method with the capability of the consideration of the specifications in time-domain in designing a 1]near control system. In general eigenstructure assignment such that all the desired eigenvalues are exactly assigned to the closed-loop system, the assignment of the eigenvectors is very restrictive. However if the arbitrary point in a certain area as an eigenvalue is allowed to be assigned t the closed-loop system, the assignment of the eigenvector corresponding to this eigenvalue can be much less restrictive. In this paper, the flexible eigenstructure assignment that can assign more closely the desired eigenvector to the closed-loop system by using an optimization technique is proposed.

  • Eigenstructure assignment is a typical method with the capability of consideration of the time-domain specifications in designing a linear control system. In this paper, we propose a new method for eigenstructure to achieve desired eigenvectors more precisely than with the conventional method. In the proposed method, the conventional eigenstructure assignment problem is interpreted as a constrained optimization one, and it converted into an unconstrained optimization problem to deal with the problem easily. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the proposed flexible eigenstructure assignment method.

  • The Object of this study is to find the relations between LQR and eigenstructure assignment regulator. Algorithms for computing weighting matrices are proposed for the case that (i) closed-loop eigenvalues are specified, and (ii) closed-loop gain matrix is given. We also present a new eigenstructure assignment algorithm that minimizes a linear quadratic performance index.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel robust fault isolation filter design method using the left eigenstructure assignment scheme proposed b\ulcorner author. An eigenstructure assignment methodology that satisfies the required fault isolation conditions is also proposed.   • Eigenstructure (eigenvalues/eigenvectors) assignment has been shown to be a useful tool for flight control system design. In the sense of the eigenstructure assignment, the effectiveness and disturbance suppressibility of a controller depend mainly on the left eigenstructure (eigenvalues/left eigenvectors) of a system. On the other hand, the disturbance decouplability is governed by the right eigenstructure (eigenvalues/right eigenvectors) of the system. In this paper, in order to obtain a disturbance decouplable as well as effective and disturbance suppressible controller, a concurrent assignment methodology of the left and right eigenstructures is proposed. The biorthogonality condition between the left and right modal matrices of a system as well as the relations between the achievable right modal matrix and state selection matrices are used to develop the methodology. The proposed concurrent eigenstructure assignment methodology guarantees that the desired eigenvalues are achieved exactly and the desired left and right eigenvectors are assigned to the best possible(achievable) sets of eigenvectors in the least square sense, respectively. The proposed design methodology is applied to designing a lateral flight control system for an L-1011 aircraft with disturbances.

  • Eigenstructure assignment provides the advantage of allowing great flexibility in shaping the closed-loop system responses by allowing specification of closed-loop eigenvalues and corresponding eigenvectors. But, the general eigenstructure assignment methodologies cannot guarantee stability robustness to parameter variations of a system. In this paper, we present a novel method that has the capability of exact assignment of an eigenstructure which can consider the probability of instability for LTI (Linear Time-Invariant) systems. The probability of instability of an LTI system is determined by the probability distributions of the closed-loop eigenvalues. The stability region for the system is made probabilistically based upon the Monte Carlo evaluations. The proposed control design method is applied to design a flight control system with probabilistic parameter variations to confirm the usefulness of the method.

  • This work is concerned with the assignment of the desired eigenstructure for linear time-varying systems such as missiles, rockets, fighters, etc. Despite its well-known limitations, gain scheduling control appeared to be the focus of the research efforts. Scheduling of frozen-time, frozen-state controller for fast time-varying dynamics is known to be mathematically fallacious, and practically hazardous. Therefore, recent research efforts are being directed towards applying time-varying controllers. In this paper, ⅰ) we introduce a differential algebraic eigenvalue theory for linear time-varying systems, and ⅱ) we also propose an eigenstructure assignment scheme for linear time-varying systems via the differential Sylvester equation based upon the newly developed notions. The whole design procedure of the proposed eigenstructure assignment scheme is very systematic, and the scheme could be used to determine the stability of linear time-varying systems easily as well as provides a new horizon of designing controllers for the linear time-varying systems. The presented method is illustrated by a numerical example.
