The subjects of this study were 479 children drawn from the fourth and sixth grades of three elementary schools in Cheongju city. The pilot study was done to examine the applicability of survey instruments. Data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, Cronbach's t-test, ANOVA with Tukey post-hoc test, correlation, and hierarchial analysis using the SPSSWIN program. The results of this research were as follows: First, the results showed that the effects of the interaction of ego-resilience and social supports on school adjustment were different according to the children's gender and age. Second, teacher supports had influence on school life satisfaction, interest in the subject, attitude in class, and observance of school rules according to the children's gender and age. A variance-covariance matrix of this sample was analyzed using AMOS 19.0, and the maximum likelihood minimization function. The goodness of fit was evaluated via SRMR, RMSEA with a 90% confidence interval, CFI, and TLI. The results were as follows: First, children's ego-resilience, self-esteem, basic psychological needs and parent attachment were all found to have a significant direct effect on children's well-being. Second, children's self-esteem, basic psychological needs and parent attachment had a direct effect on children's ego-resilience. Third, children's basic psychological needs and parent attachment had a direct effect on children's self-esteem. Fourth, parent attachment had a direct effect on children's basic psychological needs.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting quality of life according to Body Mass Index (BMI) of women college students. Methods: The research design was a descriptive survey design using a convenience sampling. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires. Participants were 348 women college students. Data analysis was done using SPSS/WIN 18.0 program for descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients and hierarchial multiple regression. Results: According to BMI, 3 groups of students were identified. Differences between the groups for quality of life were significant. The major factors affecting quality of life in the underweight group were departments (college), body stress and ego-resilience which explained 27.9% of the variance in quality of life. Body stress and ego-resilience were significant predictors explaining 23.1% of the variance in quality of life in the normal weight group. Ego-resilience was also a significant predictor in the overweight group explaining 15.2% of the variance in quality of life. Conclusion: Findings indicate a need to decrease body stress and strengthen ego-resilience to improve quality of life of women college students. Further studies are needed to examine nursing intervention strategies for improving quality of life for women college students.

Purpose: This study aimedto develop a structural equation model on the relationship among ego-resilience, and teaching effectiveness on clinical education, stress coping style, perceived family support, and satisfaction of clinical practice in nursing students in order to increase the satisfaction of clinical practice. Methods: The subjects were 399 undergraduate nursing students enrolled in 7 universities and participating in 10 clinical practice setting areas in 5 cities in South Korea. The research was conducted from December 5th, 2009 to February 20th, 2010. The structural equation model was used to perform the analysis with the statistics program of SPSS win 17.0 and AMOS 5.0. Results: Teaching effectiveness and family support showed a direct effect on satisfaction of clinical practice, while ego-resilience and stress coping styles showed an indirect effect. The biggest total effect on satisfaction of clinical practice was teaching effectiveness followed by family support, ego-resilience, and stress coping styles respectively, which accounted for 50.9%. Conclusion: Based on outcomes of this study, the proposed model allows better understanding of the satisfaction of clinical practice. This result implies that strategies or intervention programs enhancing extrinsic protection factors, motivation factors, and intrinsic protection factors should be considered. In addition, a structural support system for increasing the satisfaction level of clinical practice in nursing students should also be considered.

The purpose of this study is to develop a children's ego-resilience measurement scale and to examine the reliability and validity of the developed scale. Subjects consisted of 289 children of age 3 to 5 attending kindergarten and daycare centers located in Gwangju city and Chonnam province. Factor analysis, correlation analysis and reliability analysis were conducted using SPSS 18.0 and Amos 18.0 programs. The children's ego resilience scale consists of 26 items of 5 factors(attention concentration, emotion control, self efficacy, empathy, peer relationship) after the exploratory factor analysis. The confirmatory factor analysis revealed that RMSEA is .059, NNFI is .901 and CFI is .913. Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient were acceptable with this study's scale and KPRC. Chronbach ${\alpha}$ were also acceptable. Thus, the developed children's ego resilience measurement scale is reliable and valid.
This study was conducted to identify the factors affecting nursing students' adjustment to college life. 364 students from six different nursing colleges were recruited into the study. The data were collected using questionnaires about bullying, peer support, ego-resilience and adjustment to college life and were analyzed using IBM SPSS 19.0 program. Data were collected from March 3rd, 2014 to December 12th, 2015. The results indicated that bullying(r=-.24, p<.001) had a significant negative association with nursing college adaptation. And adjustment to college life was positively correlated with peer support(r=.38, p<.001) and ego-resilience(r=.69, p<.001). The significant predictors of adjustment to college life were ego-resilience (F=334.33, p<.001), peer support(F=60.86, p<.001) and bullying(F=22.03, p<.001), explaining 47% of the variance. Based on the study results, we suggest that it is necessary to develop and apply the educational strategy to improve the peer support and ego-resilience for the adjustment to college life.
