Improvement of wireless communications environment of Web-pad on board Yard tractor in container terminal use convergence technology (융복합 기술을 이용하는 컨테이너 항만에서 야드 트랙터에 탑재된 웹-패드의 무선통신 환경 개선 방안)

  • The container terminals use convergence technology that exchange information for cargo work, using wireless communication between the TOS(Terminal Operations System) and the handling equipments(CC, TC, YT). But if the container cargoes pile up high in the container yard, delayed cargo work and cargo working list information error happen because of communication dead spots(the worker can not receive the information) which wireless communication is disconnected. At this time the driver of the yard tractor(YT) must be able to recognize the communication state. If then, delayed cargo work and cargo working list information errors that occur in the shaded communication area can be avoided, and can process the delayed work due to wireless communication break. In this project, we have built wireless communication environment to increase the efficiency of the loading and unloading operations which the operator can respond actively, when the work is delayed and work orders result in errors. That is, the flow of the wireless communication module has been changed.

A Methodology to Establish Operational Strategies for Truck Platoonings on Freeway On-ramp Areas (고속도로 유입연결로 구간 화물차 군집운영전략 수립 방안 연구)

  • Vehicle platooning through wireless communication and automated driving technology has become realized. Platooning is a technique in which several vehicles travel at regular intervals while maintaining a minimum safety distance. Truck platooning is of keen interest because it contributes to preventing truck crashes and reducing vehicle emissions, in addition to the increase in truck flow capacity. However, it should be noted that interactions between vehicle platoons and adjacent manually-driven vehicles (MV) significantly give an impact on the performance of traffic flow. In particular, when vehicles entering from on-ramp attempt to merge into the mainstream of freeway, proper interactions by adjusting platoon size and inter-platoon spacing are required to maximize traffic performance. This study developed a methodology for establishing operational strategies for truck platoonings on freeway on-ramp areas. Average speed and conflict rate were used as measure of effectiveness (MOE) to evaluate operational efficiency and safety. Microscopic traffic simulation experiments using VISSIM were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of various platooning scenarios. A decision making process for selecting better platoon operations to satisfy operations and safety requirements was proposed. It was revealed that a platoon operating scenario with 50m inter-platoon spacing and the platoon consisting of 6 vehicles outperformed other scenarios. The proposed methodology would effectively support the realization of novel traffic management concepts in the era of automated driving environments.

  • The purpose of this paper is to design, implement and test the automatic marking system for programming languages using key-words and boolean operations to solve the processing problems of natural languages. There are accurate grammar systems and key-words in programming languages. Using these characteristics, We have designed, programmed, and tested automatic marking system for programming languages through key-words and boolean operations in this paper. We have categorized programming languages into 7 types as the type of answer and when a professor input any key-words, the system make him put conjunction with the special character. It can be logical expressions instantly so that the system easily operates. We asked 10 students who are majoring in computer engineering to take a test on the paper and web to show how well automatic marking system that we have programmed works. Then We requested 3 professors if the subject problems marked objectively. As a result, automatic marking system proved to be appropriate. We have proposed the way of using key-words and boolean operation for prohibiting huge natural language processing in marking of subjective question. It promotes efficiency rate of programming, objectivity and speed through the transferal to the web for marking since the system prohibits marker to include personal opinion on marking and gives feedback quickly

A Study on Variable Speed Limit Strategies in Freeway Work Zone Using Multi-Criteria Decision Making Process (다기준 의사결정기반 고속도로 공사구간 VSL전략에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a methodology for operating variable speed limit (VSL) strategies in freeway work zones. A notable feature in this study is to incorporate a multi-criteria decision making process into deriving better VSL strategies. Decision criteria in this study include operational efficiency, safety, and environmental impacts. Travel speed, acceleration noise, and CO2 were used as performance measures for evaluating VSL strategies. A multi-criteria value function was developed through an analytical hierarchical process (AHP) for representing expert's knowledge. Then, a variety of VSL operations scenarios were investigated utilizing a microscopic traffic simulation suite, VISSIM. The proposed methodology would be useful in supporting more efficient, safer, and more environment-friendly traffic operations and control in freeway work zones.

  • Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) is an operations research-based method for measuring the performance efficiency of decision units that are characterized by multiple inputs and outputs. DEA has been applied successfully as a performance evaluation tool in many fields. However, it has not been extensively applied in the shipbuilding industry. This paper applied the input-oriented DEA model, and Malmquist indices to the 7 shipbuilding firms to measure the efficiency and productivity changes during the period of 2004 to 2009. The Malmquist indices will be decomposed into three components such as pure efficiency change, scale efficiency change, and technical change. The empirical results show the following findings. First, the DEA findings indicate that main source of inefficiency is scale rather than pure technical. Second, the Malmquist indices show that an overall decrease in productivity.

OpenGL ES 1.1 Implementation Using OpenGL (OpenGL을 이용한 OpenGL ES 1.1 구현)

  • In this paper, we present an efficient way of implementing OpenGL ES 1.1 standard for the environments with hardware-supported OpenGL API, such as desktop PCs. Although OpenGL ES was started from the existing OpenGL features, it becomes a new three-dimensional graphics library customized for embedded systems through introducing fixed-point arithmetic operations, buffer management with fixed-point data type supports, completely new texture mapping functionalities and others. Currently, it is the official three dimensional graphics library for Google Android, Apple iPhone, PlayStation3, etc. In this paper, we achieved improvements on the arithmetic operations for the fixed-point number representation, which is the most characteristic data type for OpenGL ES. For the conversion of fixed-point data types to the floating-point number representations for the underlying OpenGL, we show the way of efficient conversion processes even with satisfying OpenGL ES standard requirements. We also introduced a simple memory management scheme to mange the converted data for the buffer containing fixed-point numbers. In the case of texture processing, the requirements in both standards are quite different and thus we used completely new software-implementations. Our final implementation result of OpenGL ES library provides all of over than 200 functions in OpenGL ES 1.1 standard and completely passed its conformance test, to show its compliance with the standard. From the efficiency viewpoint, we measured its execution times for several OpenGL ES-specific application programs and achieved at most 33.147 times improvements, to become the fastest one among the OpenGL ES implementations in the same category.

  • 최근 제조업을 보완하는 새로운 성장동력으로 서비스산업의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 특히 무선 인터넷과 통신 기술의 발전은 신 서비스 창출의 기회를 마련해주는 동시에 서비스 시스템을 복잡하게 변화시키고 있다. 그러나 기존의 서비스 개발은 정성적인 판단과 직관에 의지하고 있으며, 서비스 개발 방법론은 개념적이고 추상적인 수준에서 제공되고 있다는 한계를 가진다. 이는 모바일 비즈니스(mobile business)와 같은 복잡한 서비스 시스템의 변화에 능동적으로 대처하지 못하고 있어, 모바일 비즈니스를 위한 실질적이고 체계적인 신 서비스 개발의 방법론의 필요성을 증가시킨다. 본 연구에서는 morphology 분석을 통해 모바일 비즈니스를 위한 체계적인 신서비스 개발 방법론을 제안한다. 특히 새로운 무선 통신 환경아래에서 급격한 변화를 맞고 있는 음악 산업을 대상으로 제안된 방법론의 활용 사례를 제시할 것이다. 제안된 방법론은 크게 4 단계로 구성된다. 첫째, 제공되는 서비스 시스템을 체계화하기 위해 morphology의 dimension들을 정의한다. 각 차원은 서비스 시스템의 하위 시스템이며, 이는 기존의 문헌조사와 연구를 통해 정의된다. 둘째, 각 차원별로 morphology의 shape를 정의한다. 셋째, 각 차원의 shape를 조합하여 과거의 서비스 시스템을 표현하고, morphology의 dimension과 shape를 확장한다. 넷째, morphology의 확장된 dimension과 shape를 조합하여 새로운 서비스를 구성한다. 제안된 접근법은 크게 두 가지 측면에서 강점을 가진다. 첫째, 신 서비스 아이디어의 획득을 용이하게 할 수 있다. morphology분석은 체계적인 설계 방법론을 창의적인 생각을 돕는 도구로 의미가 있다. 둘째, 체계적인 신 서비스의 개발을 가능하게 한다. morphology접근법은 M-비즈니스와 같은 복잡한 서비스 시스템을 구조적으로 분석하고, 개발할 수 있는 기틀이 된다.킹 대상을 도출할 때까지 추가적인 분석과정을 반복한다. 제안한 방법을 통하여 조직은 기술적 생산 가능성 외에도 다양한 조직 운영 관점에서 적절한 벤치마킹 대상을 선정할 수 있으며, 이에 따른 목표를 수립할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 또한 더 나아가 global efficiency 관점에서 효율적 조직이 되기 위하여 단계적인 벤치마킹 대상 선정과 이에 따른 목표를 수립하는데도 유용하리라 판단된다.$1.20{\pm}0.37L$, 72시간에 $1.33{\pm}0.33L$로 유의한 차이를 보였으므로(F=6.153, P=0.004), 술 후 폐환기능 회복에 효과가 있다. 4) 실험군과 대조군의 수술 후 노력성 폐활량은 수술 후 72시간에서 실험군이 $1.90{\pm}0.61L$, 대조군이 $1.51{\pm}0.38L$로 유의한 차이를 보였다(t=2.620, P=0.013). 5) 실험군과 대조군의 수술 후 일초 노력성 호기량은 수술 후 24시간에서 $1.33{\pm}0.56L,\;1.00{\ge}0.28L$로 유의한 차이를 보였고(t=2.530, P=0.017), 술 후 72시간에서 $1.72{\pm}0.65L,\;1.33{\pm}0.3L$로 유의한 차이를 보였다(t=2.540, P=0.016). 6) 대상자의 술 후 폐환기능에 영향을 미치는 요인은 성별로 나타났다. 이에 따른 폐환기능의 차이를 보면, 실험군의 술 후 노력성 폐활량이 48시간에 남자($1.78{\pm}0.61L$)가 여자($1.27{\pm}0.45L$)보다 더 높게 나타났으며 (t=2.170, P=0.042), 72시간에도 역시 남자($2.16{\pm}0.56L$)가 여자($1.50{\pm}0.47L$)보다 더 높았다(t=2.910, P=0.008). 술 후 일초 노

Predicting Financial Success of a Movie Using Bayesian Choice Model (베이지안 선택 모형을 이용한 영화흥행 예측)

  • Successfully adapting to digital and customer-oriented transformation, the concept of lean manufacturing professes the philosophy of creating greater benefit while minimizing losses. These losses are operations that do not add value in the production process to ensure the efficiency, flexibility, and profitability of projects. In the context of broad automation and digitalization of all sectors of the economy, mechanisms for combining automation technologies and lean production are becoming available. Moreover, when it comes to the efficient use of financial, human, or material resources, it is clear that the use of Industry 4.0 technologies can be an effective tool for achieving the goals of lean production, as many of them pursue the same goal. In this context, this article aims to study the effectiveness of the implementation of project management concepts at the global level and identify the main factors influencing its effectiveness to ensure the achievement of lean production through LEAN technologies and Industry 4.0 technologies. To achieve this goal, several statistical indicators were selected and several statistical methods of analysis were used: pairwise correlation, regression analysis, methods of comparison, synthesis, and generalization. Statistical analysis was conducted according to a survey conducted by the Project Management Institute (PMI) in 2020. An economic-mathematical model of dependence of project effectiveness in different regions of the world on the level of implementation of project management approaches is built, which shows that the increase in project effectiveness by 85% is due to financial losses, technical training, and consumer orientation. These results allow project managers to develop appropriate strategies to improve project management approaches at all levels. It is established that LEAN technologies and technologies of Industry 4.0 have several tools that have a positive effect on minimizing losses following the concept of lean production. Besides, given that the technology of Industry 4.0 is focused on the automation of Lean Production technology, a mechanism for the introduction of lean production using these technologies and methods.

A hybrid identification method on butterfly optimization and differential evolution algorithm

  • Modern swarm intelligence heuristic search methods are widely applied in the field of structural health monitoring due to their advantages of excellent global search capacity, loose requirement of initial guess and ease of computational implementation etc. To this end, a hybrid strategy is proposed based on butterfly optimization algorithm (BOA) and differential evolution (DE) with purpose of effective combination of their merits. In the proposed identification strategy, two improvements including mutation and crossover operations of DE, and dynamic adaptive operators are introduced into original BOA to reduce the risk to be trapped in local optimum and increase global search capability. The performance of the proposed algorithm, hybrid butterfly optimization and differential evolution algorithm (HBODEA) is evaluated by two numerical examples of a simply supported beam and a 37-bar truss structure, as well as an experimental test of 8-story shear-type steel frame structure in the laboratory. Compared with BOA and DE, the numerical and experimental results show that the proposed HBODEA is more robust to detect the reduction of stiffness with limited sensors and contaminated measurements. In addition, the effect of search space, two dynamic operators, population size on identification accuracy and efficiency of the proposed identification strategy are further investigated.
