The size-effect study of various fracture parameters obtained from two parameter fracture model, effective crack model, double-K fracture model and double-G fracture model is presented in the paper. Fictitious crack model (FCM) for three-point bend test geometry for cracked concrete beam of laboratory size range 100-400 mm is developed and the different fracture parameters from size effect model, effective crack model, double-K fracture model and double-G fracture model are evaluated using the input data obtained from FCM. In addition, the fracture parameters of two parameter fracture model are obtained using the mathematical coefficients available in literature. From the study it is concluded that the fracture parameters obtained from various nonlinear fracture models including the double-K and double-G fracture models are influenced by the specimen size. These fracture parameters maintain some definite interrelationship depending upon the specimen size and relative size of initial notch length.
In this study, compressive strengths of reinforced concrete compression members rehabilitated with C.F.L. were analyzed from the test. Test parameters are spacing, spliced length, and section area of rehabilitation material. Displacement, failure load were measured during test. The failure mode and ultimate load were analyzed from these measured data. Test result shows that closer spacing of C.F.L. is more effective. strengthening with 1-ply C.F.L. is more effective than that of specimen with 2-ply C.F.L. The compressive capacity of specimen spliced ($\pi$.D)/2 shows almost similar strength to that of non-spliced specimen. The ultimate load carrying capacity of specimen strengthened with C.F.L. is increased to 1.11~1.68 times of that of non-rehabilitation specimen.

This experiment was conducted to investigate the aspect of tiller occurrence, growth and yield of sorghum according to planting density and sowing date. The subject of this experiment is to supply basic data to inhibit non-productive tillers uneconomical and cumbersome for mechanical harvesting. Also another subject was to evaluate optimum planting density and sowing date in central district area. Total number of tillers was more in 80cm ridge than 60cm ridge and it was increased as the planting distance was wider from 15cm to 30cm on the each ridge. Ratio of effective tillers was higher in 60cm ridge than 80cm ridge and it was decreased as planting distance was wider from 15cm to 30cm. The lower the planting density, the more increased total number of tillers, whereas effective tillers were decreased as planting density was high. Average of total number of tillers of three varieties was higher in sowing date of 2 May (1st sowing date), whereas ratio of effective tillers was the highest in sowing date of 23 May (2nd sowing date). Hwanggeumchal showed the highest total number of tillers (1.2 tillers), while Moktaksusu had the lowest total number of tillers (0.8 tillers) among three varieties. There were no significant difference between planting density and days to heading and ripening date from seeding. Culm length increased as planting density was high, but ear length, grains per ear and 1000 grain weight were decreased on the other hand. The highest yield of sorghum per 10a was obtained from $60{\times}20cm$ planting density among 6 planting densities.
The purpose of this study was to investigate current garment sizes of women's formal jackets, targeting plus-size women in online shopping malls, and to identify effective size information involved in online apparel purchase behaviors to overcome the short comings of current garment sizes from the perspectives of consumers. Basic 88 size formal jackets from the seven companies found on the 22 websites were collected and analyzed. The data were collected from March to October 2007, and analyzed using SPSS 14.0. The results were summarized as follows. First, there was no website using standard garment size labeling with 'bust-hip-height' set up by KS K 0051 among the 22 websites. Instead, all 22 websites used garment size labeling with figures such as 88, 99, 100, 110, and 120 or with letters such as L, XL, and XXL. The websites presented no body size, but listed garment size. Furthermore, the size information was presented differently, ranging from three items of bust circumference, upper arm length, and jacket length to six items of shoulder width, bust circumference, waist circumference, sleeve width, sleeve length, and jacket length. In addition, no website presented basic information for hip circumference, despite the jacket length covering the hips. Second, a total of 85.7% the websites listed bust circumferences in 88 garment sizes collected as 100cm. Shoulder widths were presented as 39cm or 37cm. Sleeve circumferences were addressed the same, 36cm, in all websites. Third, comparing the differences between guidance sizes and measurement sizes, only 28.5% of the web sites posted guidance sizes of shoulder widths the same as those of the measurement sizes. All web sites presented guidance sizes of bust circumstances as 1 to 5cm smaller than those of the measurement sizes.

PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to classify the shapes of retromolar pads and assess their morphometric differences using a 3D model. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Two hundred fully edentulous or Kennedy Class I partially edentulous patients (400 retromolar pads) were enrolled. Scan data of the definitive mandibular casts produced through functional impressions were obtained using a 3D laser scanner. Seven parameters (transverse diameter, longitudinal diameter, transverse-contour length, longitudinal-contour length, longitudinal/transverse diameter ratio, longitudinal/transverse-contour length ratio, and angle of the retromolar pad line to the residual alveolar ridge line) were measured using image analysis software. Subsequently, the pads were classified according to the shape. Statistical analyses were performed using 95% confidence intervals. RESULTS. Classifying the retromolar pads into three shapes led to high intra-examiner reliability (Cronbach's alpha = 0.933). The pear shape was the most common (56.5%), followed by oval/round (27.7%) and triangular (15.8%) shapes. There were no significant differences between the left and right sides according to the shape and no significant differences in any parameter according to age. The transverse diameter and longitudinal/transverse diameter ratio differed between sexes (P < .05). The triangular shape had a significantly different transverse diameter, transverse-contour length, longitudinal/transverse diameter ratio, and longitudinal/transverse-contour length ratio compared with the pear and oval/round shapes (P < .05). CONCLUSION. From a clinical reliability standpoint, classifying retromolar pads into three shapes (oval/round, pear-shaped, and triangular) is effective. The differences in the sizes among the shapes were attributed to the transverse measurement values.
This paper presents annual energy production (AEP) by a 1.5kW wind turbine due to be installed in Deokjeok-Do island. Local wind data is determined by geometric shape of Deokjeok-Do island and annual wind data from Korea Institute of Energy Research at three places considered to be installed the wind turbine. Numerical simulation using WindSim is performed to obtain flow pattern for the whole island. The length of each computation grid is 40 m, and k-e turbulence model is imposed. AEP is determined by the power curve of the wind turbine and the local wind data obtained from numerical simulation. To capture the more detailed flow pattern at the specific local region, Urumsil-maul inside the island, fine mesh having the grid length of 10m is evaluated. It is noted that the input data for numerical simulation to the local region is used the wind data obtained by the numerical results for the whole island. From the numerical analysis, it is found that a local AEP at the Urumsil-maul has almost same value of 1.72 MWh regardless the grid resolutions used in the present calculation. It is noted that relatively fine mesh used for local region is effective to understand the flow pattern clearly.
Although on-device artificial intelligence (AI) has gained attention to diagnosing machine faults in real time, most previous studies did not consider the model retraining and redeployment processes that must be performed in real-world industrial environments. Our study addresses this challenge by proposing an on-device AI-based real-time machine fault diagnosis system that utilizes continual learning. Our proposed system includes a lightweight convolutional neural network (CNN) model, a continual learning algorithm, and a real-time monitoring service. First, we developed a lightweight 1D CNN model to reduce the cost of model deployment and enable real-time inference on the target edge device with limited computing resources. We then compared the performance of five continual learning algorithms with three public bearing fault datasets and selected the most effective algorithm for our system. Finally, we implemented a real-time monitoring service using an open-source data visualization framework. In the performance comparison results between continual learning algorithms, we found that the replay-based algorithms outperformed the regularization-based algorithms, and the experience replay (ER) algorithm had the best diagnostic accuracy. We further tuned the number and length of data samples used for a memory buffer of the ER algorithm to maximize its performance. We confirmed that the performance of the ER algorithm becomes higher when a longer data length is used. Consequently, the proposed system showed an accuracy of 98.7%, while only 16.5% of the previous data was stored in memory buffer. Our lightweight CNN model was also able to diagnose a fault type of one data sample within 3.76 ms on the Raspberry Pi 4B device.
The borehole heat exchanger of Geothermal Heat Pump (GHP) system should be sustainable and cost effective for long term operation. To guaranty the performance of the system thermal Response Tests (TRTs) with simple recommended procedures have been applied in many countries. Korea government developed a standard TRT procedure in order to control the quality on GHP projects. In the TRT procedure interpretation method has a rule that data set has to be interpreted by the line source model(LSM). The LSM employes some assumptions that surrounding medium is homogeneous and the line source is infinite and constant heat flux, however real ground condition is unisotropic and heterogeneous, and showing regional or local ground water flows in many cases. We need to develope improved evaluation models to estimate accurate ground thermal conductivity with respect to geological and influence of ground water because current TRT standard test procedure has limitations to be applied for every locations and system. This study surveyed the uncertainty of the thermal parameters from the interpretation method considering different evaluation period. The interpretation of 208 TRT data sets represents limitations of LSM application that some obtained ground thermal conductivities are statistically unstable and convergence time of ground thermal conductivity over test period shows trends responding the length of test period. This evaluation study will be helpful to provide some effective procedure for the thermal parameter estimation and to complement current TRT standard procedure.
In this study, we extracted effective factors of pipe burst from the status data of water asset, operating data of pressure, volume and etc. and 7 years' pipe burst and repair records. The extracted factors were sorted by each attribution and then a statistical analysis was performed to generate a pipe burst probability function using the logistic regression model. As the result, material, diameter, length, laying year, pressure and road width affected to pipe burst significantly. Especially, in case of small diameter, laying year was most effective factor and in case of steel pipe, external loading was main cause of burst, and in case of cast iron, PE, PC, HP pipes, the deterioration of joint was main cause. The other side, as a result of Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness of fit test the models are turned out significant statistically. Also the classification criteria were determined to minimize the total cost from classification errors, when the predicted probability was more than 18% this pipe could have a chance of burst.

An effective method for detection linear flaws in plate structures via two-dimensional discrete wavelet transform is proposed in this study. The proposed method was applied to a four-fixed supported rectangular plate containing damage with arbitrary length, depth and location. Numerical results identifying the damage location are compared with the actual results to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Also, a wavelet-based method presented for de-noising of mode shape of plate. Finally, the performance of the proposed method for de-noising and damage identification was verified using experimental data. Comparison between the location detected by the proposed method, and the plate's actual damage location revealed that the methodology can be used as an accessible and effective technique for damage identification of actual plate structures.
