  • We have been noticing the unstable phenomena of measured data which may give a bad influence on the prediction of powering performance characteristics. In this paper, ununiformity of water temperature according to the water depth in towing tank, variation of water temperature between summer and winter, effect of turbulence stimulator and double line phenomena in the resistance test are investigated. And circulating the tank water, heating the towing tank, degassing the tank water and improving the turbulence stimulator are proposed as it's solutions.

  • Recently, the researches on the prevention of marine oil pollution being strengthened. Sludge oils were unavoidably produced in ship's operations, therefore it is necessary to manage the sludge oils inside the ship itself with the view to prevent marine oil pollution from ship. The present study deals with the ultrasonic breaking systems that recycle the sludge oil from ships into usable oil to be burnt. At the first instanceexperimental studies were carried out to investigate the homogenizing effect of the marine oils and the erosion aspect of horn disc by repeated vibration of ultrasonic transducer. The erosion damages for horn disc SS41 steel with weight loss rate and the irradiation time to max. erosion rate were examined according to the variation of the transducer amplitude, the oil temperature and the immersing depth of horn disc. As the result of it, the erosion aspects of horn disk were varied with oil environments and testing time.

  • End-milling have been used widely in industrial system because it is effective to a material manufacturing with various shape. Recently the end-milling processing is needed the high-precise technique with good surface roughness and rapid time in precision machine part and electronic part. The optimum surface roughness has an effect on end-milling condition such as, cutting direction spindle speed, feed rate and depth of cut, etc. Therefore this study was carried out to presume for mutual relation of end-milling condition to get the optimum surface roughness by regression analysis. The results shown that coefficient of determination($\textrm{R}^2$) of regression equation has a fine reliability of 87.5% and regression equation of surface rough is made by regression analysis.

  • The finite element method is applied to analyze the mechanism of metal cutting, especially micro metal cutting. This paper introduces some effects, such as constitutive deformation laws of workpiece material, friction of tool-chip contact interfaces, tool rake angle and also simulate the cutting process, chip formation and geometry, tool-chip contact, reaction force of tool. Under the usual plane strain assumption, quasi-static analysis were performed with variation of tool-chip interface friction coefficients and tool rake angles. In this analysis, cutting speed, cutting depth set to 8m/sec, 0.02mm, respectively. Some cutting parameters are affected to cutting force, plastic deformation of chip, shear plane angle, chip thickness and tool-chip contact length and reaction forces on tool. Several aspects of the metal cutting process predicted by the finite element analysis provide information about tool shape design and optimal cutting conditions.

  • Scintigraphic measurement of gastric emptying time has been reported to be influenced by the variation in depth of radionuclide within the stomach. This study was designed to clarify whether a part of the variability in gastric emptying could be ascribed to a relationship between anterior image, the total anteroposterior Image and the tissue attenuation correction(geometric mean). A dual-head scintillation camera(ADAC, USA) was used to investigate effect of such changes. We were performed 16 normal subject gastric emptying studies with $^{99m}TC$ labelled scramble egg, milk and solid meal(610 Kcal, 300 g) The results are as follows; On anterior Image, $T_{1/2}$ emptying time was delayed by 5 min, 6.5%(range $3{\sim}18\;min,\;5{\sim}31.4%$) compared with the geometric mean. But there was no different gastric emptying time between the total anteroposterior image and geometric mean. Therefore, if will be useful to use the method of geometric mean or the total anteroposterior image to evaluate the gastric emptying time accurately.

  • The drawbead is used to control material flow into the die during the binder wrap process and the stamping process in the sheet metal forming process. Since the dimension of drawbead is relatively small in comparison with the typical dimensions, it is difficult to include drawbeads in finite element analysis of the sheet metal forming process. It is because the mesh system has to be fine enough to describe the drawbead and the computation time is drastically increased. In this paper, simulation of drawbead forming has been carried out to obtain the equivalent boundary conditions in the binder wrap process and the stamping process. In order to investigate the effect of various die geometries, parameter studies are performed with the variation of parameters such as the blank length, the drawbead depth, the drawbead radius, the inclination of die and the friction coefficient.

  • In this paper, the stability of a cracked cantilever beam subjected to follower force is presented. In addition, an analysis of the flutter instability(flutter critical follower force) of a cracked cantilever beam subjected to a follower compressive load is presented. Based on the Timoshenko beam theory. The vibration analysis on such cracked beam is conducted to identify the critical follower force for flutter instability based on the variation of the first two resonant frequencies of the beam. Besides, the effect of the crack's intensity and location on the flutter follower force is studied. The crack section is represented by a local flexibility matrix connecting two undamaged beam segments. The crack is assumed to be in the first mode of fracture and to be always opened during the vibrations. Generally, the critical follower force for flutter is proportional to the crack depth.

  • Electrochemical etching of heavily doped p-type silicon wafers (boron doped, <100> orientation, resistivity; $0.8-1.2m{\Omega}/cm$) with different current density resulting two different refractive indices resulted in DBR (Distributed Bragg Reflectors) porous silicon, which exhibited strong in-plane anisotropy of refractive index (birefringence). Dielectric stacks of birefringent porous silicon acting as distributed Bragg reflectors have two distinct reflection bands depending on the polarization of the incident linearly polarized light. This effect is caused by a three-dimensional (in plane and in depth) variation of the refraction index. Optical characteristics of DBR porous silicon were investigated.

  • The safety of pile foundation is getting declined when the pile foundation acting on lateral load is exposed by dredging. So appropriate reinforcement is needed for stability secure. Thus, in this study, the stability variation and reinforcement range caused by dredging is estimated on the basis of down scale test. The scale effect is determined by real scale numerical analysis. the behavior of pile by dredging stages is estimated by load control type. The credibility is verified through the comparison between down scale model test and numerical analysis.

  • We have studied the characteristics of n-and p-channel FETs with submicron channel length fabricated by twin-well process. Threshold voltage variation and potential distribution with channel ion implantation conditions and impurity profile of n-and p-channel region wee simulated using SUPREM-II and MINIMOS 4.0 simulater, P-channel FET had buried-channel in the depth of 0.15 $\mu\textrm{m}$ from surface by counter-doped boron ion implantation for threshold voltage adjustment. As a result of device measurement, we have obtained good drain saturation characteristics for 3.3 [V] opreation, minimized short channel effect with threshold voltage shift below 0.2[V], high punchthrough and breakdown voltage above 10[V] and low subthreshold value.
