Objectives: The purpose of this study was to contribute to the development of standard curriculum on oral health intervention on dementia patients for dental hygienists and dental hygiene professors by identifying the extent of knowledge, attitudes and educational needs on dementia among dental hygienists and dental hygiene professors. Methods: We performed survey to dental hygienists and dental hygiene professors for about 2 months from April to May, 2018. Among them, 325 copies were used for final analysis. Frequencies and percentages were calculated to identify general characteristics of respondents and their dementia-related characteristics, and means and standard deviations were calculated to find out the extent of knowledge, attitudes, and educational needs on dementia among subjects. Multiple regression analysis was performed to investigate the effects on the educational needs on dementia. Results: The analysis on the factors that affect the dementia education needs of the subjects showed that the dementia education necessity (p<0.001) and the dementia attitude (p<0.001) had statistically significant effects on the educational needs on dementia. Conclusions: As a result, dental hygienists who are responsible for oral health intervention of dementia patients need to have proper knowledge about dementia and positive attitude toward dementia patients, so professional education is needed to improve knowledge and positive attitude. This will provide a basis for the dental hygienists to be equipped with the relevant expertise in the intervention in the oral health of dementia patients in the future.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of providing written information for coronary artery disease on health behavior compliance related self-efficacy, knowledge of disease, anxiety, and educational satisfaction depending on patients' health literacy. Methods: The participants in this study were 40 patients who underwent coronary angiography or coronary intervention, and depending on the level of health literacy 30 patients were high group and 10 patients were low group. Each group was evaluated on health behavior compliance related self-efficacy, knowledge of disease, anxiety, and educational satisfaction with providing written information. Results: By providing written information in the group with high health literacy, there was a significant difference in health behavior compliance related self-efficacy, knowledge of disease, but there was no significant difference in anxiety variable. On the other hand, there was no significant difference in health behavior compliance related self-efficacy, knowledge of disease, and anxiety by providing written information in the group with low health literacy. Also, there was no significant difference in the educational satisfaction between high and low group of health literacy after providing written information. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop educational materials that can be applied to clinical nursing field with considering health literacy of patients with coronary artery disease. The purpose of this study was to develop an educational program to promote oral health habits and to analyze it's effects among elementary students. The study was a "one group, pre-test, post-test design", which included 158 3rd grade students from three elementary schools in Seoul. The effects were measured after each group had received a 40 minute program each week for three weeks. The program consisted of a lecture, 1:1 tooth brushing demonstration and practice, and viewing the oral health DVD. The students were given a questionnaire with 26 questions at the beginning and at the end of the study (6 questions about their toothbrushing habits, 5 oral health related habit questions, and 15 oral health related knowledge questions). All students received an oral-health practice pamphlet at the beginning of the program. The students who participated in the program had higher levels of oral health knowledge (t=27.23, p<.001), better toothbrushing habits (t=13.72, p<.001), and oral related habits ($X^2=34.22$, p<.001) after receiving the structured oral health educational program.

This study aims to develop an educational program for healthy families using Christoph's team performance coaching (TPC) model and evaluate the program by program participant feedback. The educational program is unique in terms of helping the program participants measure the health level of their families, setting goals for the health improvement of their families based upon minimum family performance and seeking ways to achieve these goals. The educational program was designed as 3-hour-course for the convenience of implementing education and recruiting participants. The overall program was based on the characteristics and principles of coaching. Those with a master's degree or above and professional coaches were recruited as instructors. The first workshop for the instructors was conducted in 2 sessions, for 12 hours each (Dec 29-30, 2010 and Feb 12-13, 2011) and the second workshop was conducted Mar 25-26, 2011, for 12 hours. During the workshop for the instructors, the final education program was completed based upon the instructors' impression and evaluation. 8 instructors conducted the educational programs in educational institutions and facilities across the nation. The results of the program evaluated by 419 adults of education participants demonstrated the applicability of Christoph's team performance coaching model to the educational program for healthy family and its effects. If various educational programs with flexible education hours and content according to the needs of subject groups are developed, this educational program can be used as a basic educational program for in-depth education and further service for the improvement of family health.
