RI-Biomics 분야의 실무전문가 역량강화 방안연구 (A Research on the Empowerment Plan for Specialists in RI-Biomics Field)

  • Increasing utilization of radiation and RI (Radioisotope) in nuclear industry including non-power area has achieved sustainable development of radiation industry. Industries are no longer confined by a single technology or abilities but expanded for application gradually. RI-Biomics fields are one of the convergence technology that is recognized on a high-tech industry. Unlike the conventional industry, RI-Biomics field needs to various specialists to perform related task. There is no domestic training program to educate the whole process. This study aims to suggest the plan for improvement of practical skills for specialists in RI-Biomics through development of our training program. For this purpose, we have first investigated the opinion about classification scheme from experts and then analyzed the results in order to reflecting our training program. Based on analyzed results, conformity assessment was executed to organize curriculum through status of constructed device and instructor in domestic. Our training program was performed jointly with KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute). RI-Biomics center is prepared with facilities of overall experiment to improve quality of education. Due to the fact that specialists have routine task, we organized a five-day short course to reflect temporal difficulties. We performed a trial operation to 6 participants in RI-Biomics field. Through the survey for the specialists who participated in the program, we evaluated the efficiency of our training program. The results showed that participants were satisfied with the organized curriculum and educational materials. Therefore, our program is expected to be utilized as basic research data to develop feasible program for policy development and to improve practical skills in RI-Biomics.

정보과학영재의 과목별 특성 분석 (Analysis of Information Science Gifted characterization of the subjects)

  • 본 논문에서는 대학부설과학영재교육원의 정보과학 학습자의 과목별 특성을 분석하여 정보과학영재의 선발 및 교육에 시사점을 찾고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 중학교 1학년 학생들로써 기존의 영재교육기관 경험이 없는 기초과정 학생들의 1년간의 관찰 평가를 통하여 과학, 수학, 정보과학 분야별 교육에 있어서 특성을 분석하였다. 분석 방법은 일원분산분석과 상관관계분석을 이용하였다. 분석 결과 정보과학분야 학습자들은 과학 분야의 수업보다 오히려 수학 분야의 수업에서 태도가 우수하다고 분석 되었으며 '문제해결 영역'에서는 과목에 상관없이 비슷한 양상을 보여 주었다. 또한 '태도 영역'과 '문제해결 영역', '수학적 인지 영역' 간의 상관관계는 밀접한 것으로 분석되었으며 정성적 관찰 기록을 통해서도 확인할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 통해서 정보과학 분야 학습자에게 수학과 연관된 프로그램이 과학 과목보다 태도와 문제해결 영역에 있어 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.

Assessment of strength and durability of bagasse ash and Silica fume concrete

  • An alternative type of building system with masonry units is extensively used nowadays to reduce the emission of CO2 and embodied energy. Long-term performance of such structures has become essential for sustaining the building technology. This study aims to assess the strength and durability properties of concrete prepared with unprocessed bagasse ash (BA) and silica fume (SF). A mix proportion of 1:3:3 was used to cast concrete cubes of size $100mm{\times}100mm{\times}100mm$ with various replacement levels of cement and tested. The cubes were cast with zero slump normally adopted in the manufacturing of hollow blocks. The cubes were exposed to acid attack, alkaline attack and sulphate attack to evaluate their durability. The mass loss and damages to concrete for all cases of exposures were determined at 30, 60, and 90 days, respectively. Then, the residual compressive strength for all cases was determined at the end of 90 days of durability test. The results showed that there was slight difference in mass loss before and after exposure to chemical attack in all the cases. Though the appearance was slightly different than the normal concrete the residual weight was not affected. The compressive strength of 10% bagasse ash (BA) as a replacement for cement, with 10% SF as admixture resulted in better strength than the normal concrete. Hence concrete with 10% replacement with BA along with 10% SF as admixture was considered to be durable. Besides solid concrete cubes, hollow blocks using the same concrete were casted and tested simultaneously to explore the possibility of production of masonry units.

  • 이러닝 교육 방법은 오프라인 교육의 단점을 보완하는 많은 장점을 갖고 있다. 이와 같은 이유로, 기존의 많은 오프라인 교육기관은 학습효과를 높일 목적으로 온라인 기술을 현장에 도입하였다. 최근의 일반 대학교에서도 온라인 학습을 부분적으로 도입하고 있다. 그 결과 기존의 오프라인 교육의 장점을 온라인 교육에 도입하여 교육의 효과를 높일 수 있는 방법에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있다. 그 결과 온라인에서 학습 효과를 높이기 위해서 학습자를 적절히 평가하고 적절한 피드백을 제공하는 것이 필요하게 되었다. 따라서. 본 논문에서는 오프라인의 장점을 온라인에 도입하여 학습 능률을 향상시킬 수 있는 모델을 제안하고자 한다. 제안한 모델의 핵심은 올바른 평가에 있다. 그러므로, 학생들을 위한 정확한 평가를 위해서 문항반응검사를 실시하여 학습자를 평가하고 수준별 학습을 할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한, 온라인에서 학생의 학습 스타일을 알아내어 각 학생의 잘못된 학습 성향을 개선하게 하여 학습의 효과를 높이도록 하는 방법을 제안하였다. 향후 본 논문에서 제안 방법이 현장에서 활용된다면 학습자의 학업능력 개선에 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

토양정보를 이용한 광역 지하수의 질산태 질소 오염 민감도 분포 분석 (Regional-Scale Evaluation of Groundwater Susceptibility to Nitrate Contamination Based on Soil Survey Information)

  • 비점오염제어에 있어서 상대적으로 지하수오염의 가능성이 높은 지역을 선별하고 주된 오염원을 파악하는 것은 그 기여도가 대단히 크다. 이 연구는 제주도를 연구지역으로 하였으며, 현재 가장 중요한 오염물질 중의 하나인 질산태 질소를 대상오염물질로 하였다. 기존 및 실제 조사에 의한 토양정보를 토대로 pedotransfer function과 수분이동 모델을 이용하여 토양통별로 산출된 질산태질소오염 민감도 지수를 통해 민감도분포도를 작성하였으며(semi process-based 법), 이를 실제 모니터링된 2,020개의 수질자료와 비교하였고 제안된 semi process-based 법은 기존의 전문가의 의견과 판단에 의존하거나 방대한 파라메터를 요구하는 기존방법들의 단점을 극복하고 충분한 지형적 해상력을 제공하였을 뿐만 아니라, 알려진 질산태 질소 모니터링 자료와도 대부분 잘 부합하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻어진 결과들은 오염민감성이 높은 지역을 우선 선정하여 주의와 관리대책을 세우는 동시에 주요한 오염원을 파악함으로써 지하수자원을 합리적이고 효율적으로 보호하는데 있어서 유용한 수단이 될 것으로 판단되었다.

방문건강관리 대상 여성노인의 요실금 유병과 삶의 질 영향요인 (Factors Influencing Urinary Incontinence Quality of Life among Elderly Women in Home Visiting Healthcare Services)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify factors affecting the urinary incontinence (UI) prevalence and the quality of life among elderly adult women who are subject to home visiting healthcare services. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 400 women aged 60 or over who were registered for home health care services at one health center in Gangwon-do. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire consisting of UI severity, UI type, and the quality of life. The UI severity was assessed using International Consultation of Incontinence Questionnaire-Short Form (ICIQ-SF), the quality of life using Incontinence Quality of Life (I-QOL), and type of UI using Questionnaire for Urinary Incontinence Diagnosis (QUID). The data were analyzed by using x2 test, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation, binary logistic, and multiple lineal regression. Results: The prevalence of UI is 51.7%. The mean score of ICIQ-SF was 9.70±4.04 for women with UI and 0.04±0.51 for women without UI (t=-33.67, p<.001). As the frequency of day time urination (OR=1.34), the subjective health status (OR=1.45), and the educational status (OR=0.90) were higher, the risk of UI prevalence was the higher. The factors affecting I-QOL were ICIQ-SF score, mixed UI, subjective health status, and nighttime urination (adjusted R2=.61). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that UI severity, mixed UI, subjective health status, and day time urination affected the quality of life. It suggests that the assessment for the severity and type of UI be needed to prevent UI or improve the quality of life of UI vulnerable elderly adult women.

Messick의 타당도 틀을 활용한 임상실습 전 실기시험의 타당도 평가 (Assessing the Validity of the Preclinical Objective Structured Clinical Examination Using Messick's Validity Framework)

  • Students must be familiar with clinical skills before starting clinical practice to ensure patients' safety and enable efficient learning. However, performance is mainly tested in the third or fourth years of medical school, and studies using the validity framework have not been reported in Korea. We analyzed the validity of a performance test conducted among second-year students classified into content, response process, internal structure, relationships with other variables, and consequences according to Messick's framework. As results of the analysis, content validity was secured by developing cases according to a pre-determined blueprint. The quality of the response process was controlled by training and calibrating raters. The internal structure showed that (1) reliability by generalizability theory was acceptable (coefficients of 0.724 and 0.786, respectively, for day 1 and day 2), and (2) the relevant domains had proper correlations, while the clinical performance examination (CPX) and objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) showed weaker relationships. OSCE/CPX scores were correlated with other variables, especially grade point average and oral structured exam scores. The consequences of this assessment were (1) making students learn clinical skills and study themselves, while causing too much stress for students due to lack of motivation; (2) reminding educators of the need to apply practical teaching methods and to give feedback on the test results; and (3) providing an opportunity for faculty to consider developing support programs. It is necessary to develop the blueprint more precisely according to students' level and to verify the validity of the response process with statistical methods.

A short education session increases the accuracy of estimated food records in young Korean women during a controlled-feeding study

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Despite the widespread use of dietary assessment tools, the validity of food records has not been evaluated in Koreans. We assessed the accuracy of estimated food records and the effect of a short education session in young Korean women. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Thirty women (aged 18-23 yrs) each completed 3 food records during a controlled-feeding study. One educational session was provided on day 2 of the study. Food records were analyzed for the accuracy of food items and portion size estimation according to food group (grains; meat, fish, eggs, and beans; vegetables; fruit; dairy; and oils and sugars) and type of dish (rice, kimchi, soup, side dishes, spreads, beverages, and snacks). Reported food items were categorized as exact, close, or far matches, exclusions, or intrusions. Portion sizes were evaluated as accurate, similar, or inaccurate estimates, or missing. The means of days 2 and 3 were used to assess post-education results. Paired t-tests were performed to assess the effects of the education session. RESULTS: The mean percentages of exact matches, close matches, far matches, and exclusions on day 1 were 80.9%, 10.9%, 2.0%, and 6.2%, respectively, and mean intrusions observed were 0.1. The education session slightly increased the accuracy of recorded food items. The percentages of accurate, similar, and inaccurate estimates, and missing portion sizes were 11.7%, 19.8%, 12.2%, and 56.3%, respectively, at baseline. The percentage of missing portion size estimates decreased to 14.0% after the education session, resulting in an increase in the percentages of all other estimates. An increase was observed in the accuracy of reported portion sizes of vegetables, rice, and kimchi. CONCLUSIONS: In young Korean women, estimated food records are highly accurate for food items but not for portion size estimates without prior education. A short education session can improve the accuracy of portion size estimation.

Current status of long-term care facility workers' physical function improvement activities for the elderly

  • Objective: This study was conducted to provide basic data on physical function improvement activities of elderly care facilities by identifying the degree of physical improvement activities of elderly caregivers. Design: Descriptive correlational study. Methods: The instrument of this study consisted of 12 questions on the general characteristics of the subject. For the assessment of improvement in physical function activities, the measuring tool used for the elderly consisted of a total of 20 questions. For data analysis, Pearson's correlation coefficient & Spearman's rho and multiple regression were used. Results: The higher the age of the subjects, the lower their educational background (r=-0.273, p<0.05), and the higher the probability of having a religion (r=-0.258, p<0.05), the more stable the employment type (r=-0.333, p<0.05). The higher the level of education, the higher the monthly income (r=0.187, p<0.01), and the shorter the career (r=-0.204, p<0.05). The more stable employment, the more unstable duty (r=-0.245, p<0.05), and the more unstable work, the higher the monthly income (r=-0.206, p<0.05) and the longer the career, the higher the monthly income (r=0.247, p<0.05). The more stable the employment, the more activities to improve physical function were found (r=0.341, p<0.05), and the more unstable the duty, the more activities to improve physical function were found (r=0.321, p<0.05), and the higher monthly income, the less physical function improvement activities (r=-0.196, p<0.05). Conclusions: It is necessary to provide regular services by a dedicated physical therapist for physical function improvement activities in order to improve the quality of life of the elderly in the future.

간호·간병통합서비스병동과 일반병동 환자의 간호요구도, 간호만족도 및 간호사의 의사소통 유형 비교 (Comparison of Patient Needs, Patient Satisfaction, and Communication Type of Nurses between Integrated Nursing Care Service Ward and General Ward Patients)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide patient-centered nursing by comparing the patient needs, patient satisfaction, and communication type of nurses for patients admitted to integrated nursing care service ward and general ward. Methods: Data were collected by self-report questionnaires between September 7 and October 9, 2021. Patients were patients recruited from a hospital in D city, 100 each from comprehensive nursing care service ward and general ward. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, 𝜒2-test, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation. Results: There was no significant difference in patient needs between the patients of integrated nursing care service ward and the general ward (t=-1.12, p=.263). However, patient satisfaction was higher among the patients in integrated nursing care service ward than in the general ward (t=-3.55, p<.001). Pertaining to the communication type of nurses, the informational communication type (t=-4.02, p<.001) and the friendly communication type (t=-3.92, p<.001) were stronger in the integrated nursing care service ward than the general ward. It was, hence, confirmed that the educational requirements were positively correlated with patient satisfaction in the reliability domain and technical-professional domain, and that the nurse informational communication type and friendly communication type had a significantly positive correlation with patient satisfaction. Conclusion: The expansion of the integrated nursing care service ward may be considered in the future, with an informational and friendly communication method as an effective response that can be adapted in practice as a reflection the type of communication among nurses.
