  • In this paper, We propose real-time sound editing and playback systems which is based on Augmented Reality. The proposed system are composed with music maker which is based on AR maker and music board. By using music marker's contents, the proposed system selects the kinds of musical instruments and pre-defined midi track and by calculating the relative location of music marker on 2-dimensional plane, we set the spatial relative parameter in midi track. For performance evaluation, we check the jitter value of in various resolutions by using CAM which supports $1600{\pm}1200$ as the maximum resolution. As a result, when we set the configuration value of CAM as $860{\pm}600$ pixels and process two frames per minute, the success ratio of recognizing music markers and jitter values are accegnable. It can be utilized in the fields of alternative cmacine which is based on music and also be utilized in the educational aspects because child or elderly who don't know enough musical theory can easily handle it.

  • Although programming language is a core education area of software that is becoming increasingly important in the age of the fourth industrial revolution, as it requires logical thinking skills, it is recognized as a difficult subject even for SW major students. This difficulty occasionally causes SW major students to lose interest and confidence in their major during the introductory course of a programming language; making them change their majors, or give up their studies. In this study, we designed an instructional model using Scratch for educating C language which is a typical programming introductory language. To do this, we analyzed the concepts that can be trained by Scratch among the programming concepts supported by C language, and developed the examples of Scratch for exercising the concepts. The instructional model supports the progress model of learning first the programming concepts through Scratch and then expand the learning content into C language. We also conducted an experiment on the SW major freshman students of a local private university to verify the effectiveness of the model.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the nature of the cultural competence of the staff in Saeil Center, which supports the self-reliance of immigrant women by marriage, and to find ways to improve their cultural competence. The assumption is that the higher cultural competence of the staff enhances the quality of their job training for immigrant women by marriage. I conducted the study from June to September, 2017, and in-depth interviewed the staffs from seven Saeil Centers across the country, who had been involved in the job training for immigrant women by marriage for at least three years. The interview data elicited 60 meaningful statements, 27 themes, and 11 thematic units, and I discussed, based on the findings, 1) the low level of contemplation of the staffs on the issues related to immigrant women 2) their limitations of friendly communication and altruistic stance 3) their own conscience of main stream and 4) insufficient cultural competence of the staffs as well as in terms of the organizational operation. Finally, I suggested the necessity of educational programs, and also emphasized the importance of developing multiculturalism in the centers.

  • The specialized textbook library provides resources for textbook publishers and textbook development professionals as well as others in related fields who are committed to the educational development of our country. The textbook library also supports research and education among the faculty and students. But, when examining the reality of the textbook specialized library, analysis concludes that it faces various problems such as state-supported operating budget shortfalls, weakness of public infrastructure, difficulty in collection of textbook-related data, and lack of inter-linked library systems. Thus, this study determined the development direction of the textbook specialized library through the process of literature analysis, case studies, and reflection of expert opinions. In this study, a long-term policy direction of the building and operating of textbook specialized libraries has been proposed as follows: organizing and operating a textbook specialized library, collecting and creating a list of textbook-related information resources, creating information strategy, and constructing specialized content for the textbook specialized library.

  • As de-schooling students (students who leave schools) have been produced and increased in middle and high schools every year since 1990s, urban alternative schools have founded with Seoul as the center. The objects of such urban alternative schools are de-schooling teenagers, and their educational goal is to make the students to discover their own values and grow as members of the community by accomplishing their healing and growth. Most of students in alternative schools have excessive self-centered feeling than ordinary people, and since they don't have exchanges with others, they have to receive holistic healing along with education. Here, 'healing' is a method of approaching to health through environmental, psychological, social and cultural supports unlike 'treatment' used for medical means. Therefore, holistic healing for alternative schools' students has to accomplish self-knowledge, self-control, and self-healing without repulsion through spaces of healing environments instead of heavy-handed exchanges. This study has integrated a theory of Max $L{\ddot{u}}scher$ who suggested a psychological healing theory in terms of internal character and a theory of Rudolf Steiner who suggested it in terms of practical and holistic sense and analyzed Sungmisan School, one of urban alternative schools in Seoul through the integrated theory. The analysis of the integrated theory are intended to emphasize the importance of healing environments and suggest methods in creating healing environments for urban alternative schools in the future.

  • Psychiatry residency training in South Korea currently has many limits in developing proper competencies of residents. To address this problem, the Korean Neuropsychiatric Association has been developing a new competency-based training program since 2015, using the educational systems of advanced countries such as Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia as references. It was found that within the referenced countries' residency training systems, objectives based on competencies are stated in detail by psychiatric topics as well as various assessment methods and feedback about the resident's competency level. In addition, we surveyed psychiatric resident training hospitals, and found that more than 80% of the respondents answered positively in reference to the new training program. This paper briefly reviews competency-based residency training systems of advanced countries and compares them to the current training program in South Korea. Many resources are needed to run a new competency-based training program, and governmental supports are essential to improve the quality of the residency training system.

  • A product labelling is one of key tools in ensuring that a patient uses drugs safely and effectively in self-care without professional support. This study aimed to explore the readability and comprehensibility of the information contained on two package inserts of medicines. Two package inserts were tested with first year college students. Fifty-one potential consumers underlined words they could not understand and answered 10 scenario questions. Any differences among groups with different characteristics were statistically tested. Secondly, the readability of two package inserts was assessed with comparison to the level of the 6th grade Korean textbooks. As results, more than 80% of participants properly replied to straightforward questions concerning indication, dosage, duplication, use in pregnancy and contraindication, and 73% about formulation. Less than half answered correctly in multiple choice questions about pediatric use (41%) and side effects (35%). Little discrepancy was observed in the comprehensibility between participants' characteristics. Drug inserts contained about 20% more professional-level words than 6th grade textbooks. In conclusion, Korean consumers may face challenges to understand drug information due to professional terminology and outdated expressions in the current package inserts. To secure safe and effective use of over-the-counter agents, greater efforts should be made to develop more consumer friendly labels. In the other hand, educational supports are required to prepare consumers in a proper level of knowledge for the safe use of drugs.

  • The study was performed to investigate the relationship of regular exercise to body composition and nutrient intakes of male college students by comparing anthropometric measurements and one-day dietary intakes by 24-hour recall of physical education (PE) majors and non-major male college students. The subjects were 253 students residing in the Gyeonggi area. Only 64.1% and 32.1% of PE majors and non-major students exercised over 4 times a week and PE major students did stronger exercise than the non-major students did. Mean BMI and WHR (Waist Hip Ratio) of the two groups were not different. But percentages of body fat and lean body mass in PE major students were lower and higher, respectively, than those of non-major students. PE major students consumed significantly more energy and other nutrients except iron, niacin, vitamin C, and vitamin E than non-major students. Nutrients consumed less than KRDA was calcium in PE major students and energy, calcium, zinc, vitamin $B_{12}$, folate, and vitamin C in non-major students. Mean adequacy ratio (MAR) of PE major students (1.00) was significantly higher than that of non-major students (0.94). Index of Nutritional Quality (INQ) of all nutrients except vitamin A of PE major students was also significantly higher than that of non-major students. Nutrients below 1.00 in INQ of both groups were calcium, zinc, vitamin B2, and folate. Our data supports that regular exercise may positively influence on body composition and increase diet quality in male college students. Therefore, an educational program focused on regular exercise along with proper dietary behavior would be needed.

  • The Korean government has been promoting the establishment of comprehensive information systems as one of supports for preschools' administration. This support is expected to enhance the efficiency of preschool education support systems and to improve the quality of educational services. The gap between government's expectation on an introduction of the information system and preschool educators' expectations has also been an issue in deploying this new system. This study identifies user resistance factors for comprehensive preschool administration assistance systems' deployment. We find that the performance expectancy, social influence, effort expectancy, and the psychological cost of user resistance have impacts on the user resistance. When these factors related resistance are resolved in the process of systems' deployment, active participation in these systems by preschool educators would be increased.
