There is now a large body of research which investigate the preconceptions held by the students in a variety of school levels ranging from the elementary schools to the universities. A problem exists, however, in applying the fingings of the research to the practices of science education. Meanwhile the field of science education is in urgent need of the new instructional theories. One viable means of improving such problematic situation as this is to develop the teaching/learning materials which incorporate the suggestions implied by the results of the research. A prosedure for developing an instructional material and the application of the material in the naturalistic classes are described. Also described in this article are the analyses of the effectiveness of the materials and the implications of this developmental study for the teaching strategies of science.

Under the WTO system, global standardization of professionalism in architecture practice calls for transformation of curriculum in architectural education in Korea. This paper compares the curriculum standards of international accrediting authorities such as NAAB and RIBA based on UIA accord which defines fundamental knowledge and abilities of an architect. As a result this paper extracts 51 achievement oriented criteria of architectural education in Korea. It can be categorized as communication, design, cultural context(history and theory, human behavior and social aspects), technical systems(structural systems, environmental control systems, construction material and assemblies) and practice(project process, project economics and business management, laws and regulations). Based on this recommended Korean curriculum standards, current curriculum is analyzed focusing on the 5 architectural programs in Seoul. Through this analysis, it became clear that some area - social and economic aspects in architecture, sustainability in architecture, understanding and selection of construction material, assemblies and environmental control system, recycling of existing building, professional liability, professional rules of conduct, project economics and project management - need to be covered and emphasized to meet the international standards in professional education in architecture. The result in this paper will be used as a basic data in the process of finding the direction of restructuring curriculum for professional architectural education in Korea.

본 연구는 수학교사의 전문성을 신장시킬 수 있는 구체적인 가능성을 탐색하는 연구로, 다항식의 해법에 대한 수학교사의 대수 내용지식을 선정하고, 선정된 내용지식을 바탕으로 수학교사의 자립연수를 위한 학습 자료를 개발하였다. 개발된 학습 자료는 수학교사들에게 제공되었으며, 학습 자료가 자립연수에서 활용 가능한지, 수학교사들이 이해 가능한지 등에 대해 검사지로 조사하였고, 연수 방법 및 내용에 대해서도 설문을 하였다. 교사들의 대답을 분석한 결과, 개발된 학습 자료는 자립연수의 활용 가능성, 교사들의 이해 가능성, 연수 방법에 대해 긍정적인 결과를 얻었다.

학생들에게 정보보호의 중요성을 인식시키고 악의적인 행위에 대처하는 능력을 키워주기 위해서는 체계적인 정보보호 교육이 필요하다. 그러나 아직 체계적인 교육방법과 적절한 교육 자료가 부재하여 효과적인 정보보호 교육이 일선 학교 현장에서 이루어지지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 효과적인 정보보호교육을 위해 UCC(User Created Content)를 활용한 원리중심의 시각화 된 학습 자료를 개발하고 이를 실험집단과 통제집단의 2개 학급에 적용한 후 교육전후 검사 결과를 독립표본 t-검증으로 분석하여 본 논문에서 제안하는 방안의 효과성을 검증하였다. 특히, 최근 인터넷에서 많은 활용도를 보이는 UCC를 정보보호 교육을 위한 시각화 자료로 활용함으로써 학습자들이 수업에 대한 흥미를 제고할 수 있으며 UCC의 교육적 활용도가 높음을 확인할 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study is to realize the teaching material, which develops the Model of Watershed Water Environment Education(EE) Textbook, by seeking for a method of the Inquiry with the Perspective of EE and by questing for the contents of watershed water environment necessary for Water EE with the Perspective of EE. First, the value of watershed EE was reilluminated through the literature analysis on the watershed. And 'Inquiry with the Perspective of EE' methodology was newly presented that quests for the contents necessary and proper for EE from the viewpoint of EE. Also, with suggesting it as concept and methodology of 'Inquiry with the Perspective of Watershed EE' by considering the value of EE in Water EE, it presented the content approach direction in the inquiry and the contents of the specific inquiry. Second, through the Inquiry with the Perspective of EE into water environment of the watershed Musim cheon (stream), which is a case region, it allowed the watershed water environment to be able to be synthetically understood. As for a sphere of the inquiry, 5 spheres were sought by taking into account a relation to a human being, as well as the water environment itself of the watershed Musim cheon (stream). Third, Based on the contents of the Inquiry with the Perspective of EE into the watershed Mlisim cheon (stream), 'the Model of Watershed Water EE Textbook' for middle-school students was developed. This model of textbook was selected largely four parts, and was organized with 10 learning objectives and 11 activities.

This study is to investigate how do elementary students' eye movements appear in cognitive process that they perceive science learning materials depending on motivation system of science learning. For this study we had a random sampling of 301, 6th grade students. And we had selected 32 students through the three tests for the final; motivation system test of science learning, a learning styles test, an Edinburgh inventory for handedness test. We were analysis the cognitive process during learning tasks for the selected student using eye-tracking equipment. The results of the research are as follows: First, when students see a science learning material, we found out that SL-BAS group that has tendency searched various areas than SL-BIS group in learning task. Second, results confirmed through the data of integrational count that students looked alternately texts, images and graphs in the learning material, SL-BIS group were more than SL-BAS group on integrated count, but they had a simple and insignificant eye movement. Especially SL-BAS students showed that integrated eye movement between texts, images and graphs in the learning material, and they explored important areas of the graph compared with SL-BIS group that there was no eye movement in graph. These results may be utilized as a useful resource for designing students' learning.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to discover the recognition of dental technicians on MSDS and to research the furnishing rate of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) in dental laboratories. Method: 104 dental technicians who were self-written questionnaire. The results were analyzed by SPSS 12.0. The answers to the questionnaire underwent frequency analysis, chi-square test were performed. Results: The result of cross analysis on the occurrence of occupational diseases according to whether MSDS is furnished showed that the group with MSDS furnished had 37.8% of damages due to their occupation, but the group with MSDS unfurnished had 65.7% of damages due to their occupation, which displayed a significant difference(p<0.05). The result of cross analysis on whether the education about chemicals according to whether MSDS is furnished showed there were relatively more responses of no education on the types and characteristics of chemicals, the effect on human body and its risk, emergency measure when exposed to risk, the treating and storing methods and the disposal methods. In addition, there were significant differences on whether all the above education was done between the group with MSDS furnished and the group without MSDS(p<0.000). Conclusion: In order to secure safe working environment of dental technicians and to reduce occurrence of damage caused by chemicals, the related education is necessary. The recognition of dental technicians on MSDS and furnishing rate is increasing but still insufficient, so the related organizations need to establish education and PR measures for prevention of damage.

The Purpose of this study is to enhance the efficiency of clothing-making units in the textbook of Home Economics for the high school students. I handed out a research paper with several questions to 75 teachers and 87 students to find out the realities of the education. There are several problems of making clothes at class: lack of time, appropriate equipment and efficient learning material. To solve these problems. I made a half-sized skirt kit utilizing OPTI Tex. a type of CAD in fashion design and copied it by silkscreen. and let the students use it. Both of the teachers and students showed positive response to the newly made kit of my own. saying that \"it is very handy to prepare and it\`s very helpful to figure out how to make skirt. \" Using the kit. we could reduce the time to make clothes by about 60 % and do well in the classroom without any sewing machines.

The purpose of this research is to delineate the effect of maternal variables of the verbal abuse. Such variables as the mother's age, her education level, and maternal parenting stress have been chosen for the analysis. The sample subject were 659 pairs of fifth/sixth grade of elementary school and firs/second grade of middle school, and their mothers. The major findings of the research are as follows: first, looking at the correlation between the mother's age/education level and the verbal abuse, the verbal abuse factor shows difference correlating to the mother's age/education level. Second, looking at the correlation between the material parenting stress level and the verbal abuse, the verbal abuse factor shows difference correlating to the maternal parenting stress level. Third, the result of multiple regression analysis on the effects of the maternal variables to the verbal abuse indicates that material parenting stress is the significant contributing factor. All in all, the maternal variables account for 9% of the verbal abuse score.

The spreadsheet Microsoft Excel is the most widely used mathematical tool in today's workplace. Moreover, it is also an outstanding means for developing a surprisingly wide range of creative and innovative educational uses within such areas as mathematical modeling, visualization, and instruction. The spreadsheet's format provides us with a tool that closely parallels the way in which we naturally carry out problem solving, while the spreadsheet creation process itself illuminates the underlying mathematical concepts. In addition, the spreadsheet's visual layout allows us to introduce a broad variety of challenging and interesting topics, and to design creative demonstrations through eye-catching animated graphics. The material presented comes from actual classroom mathematics teaching experience in both industrially advanced and developing nations. A series of highly visual interactive illustrations from mathematics, the natural and social sciences, computing, engineering, and the arts provide a number of usable examples. The material discussed is applicable at diverse levels, ranging from schools and universities through adult education and in-service teacher development programs.
