  • The divide between the "digital" economy and the traditional "physical" economy is outdated. In fact, we are in a transition to a singular economy. This paper classifies economic objects (including actors) as either physical or virtual and argues that due to emerging technologies, these objects are interacting with each other in both physical and increasingly digital spheres in tandem. This paper recognizes the elemental difference between atoms and bytes but argues that physical and digital economic activities are becoming inseparably intertwined. Furthermore, arbitrarily dividing the economy into two categories - one "physical" and the other "digital" - distorts the overall view of the actual execution of economic activity. A wide range of innovations emerging concurrently is fueling the transition to a singular economy. Often referred to as the elements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), four emerging technological areas are reviewed here: distributed ledger technology, artificial intelligence/machine learning/data sciences, biometrics and remote sensor technologies, and access infrastructure (universal internet access/electricity/cloud computing). The financial services sector is presented as a case study for the potential impact of these 4IR technologies and the blurring physical/digital line. To reach the potential of these innovations and a truly singular economy, it requires the concurrent development of social, organizational, and regulatory innovations, though they lag in terms of technological progress thus far.

  • This paper introduces a politico-economic model with a welfare state and immigration. In this model, policies on taxes and immigration are determined through a plurality voting system. While many studies of fiscal implications of immigration argue that relaxing immigration policies can substitute for tax reforms in an aging economy, I show that the democratic voting procedure can dampen the effect of relaxing immigration policies as desired policy reforms are not always implemented by the winner of an election. This political economy results in three types of social welfare losses. First, the skill composition is not balanced at a socially efficient level because workers are motivated to maximize their wages. Second, older retirees implement excessive taxes to maximize the size of the welfare state. Third, the volume of immigration is lower than the optimal level given the incentive by young workers to regain political power in the future.

  • Essences, needs and features of formation of national innovative development model of Kazakhstan are proved on the basis of analysis of various research approaches to realization of the modernization that exist in the world economic theory. For studying the problems of innovative development of the country, there was a need for the formulation of a number of definitions, disclosure of their contents, changing the approaches to reform, as well as adjusting their targets. In the article the general scientific research methods used dialectic, abstraction, systemic and situational approach, empirical and theoretical and analytical methods, and logic modeling. The proposed approach to the implementation of innovative development based on the use of evolutionary and institutional approaches to the study of the problems of implementing an effective innovation policy. This approach is intended to contribute to the development of a forward strategy of modernization, innovative development and higher competitiveness of the national economy. The study proved the causes and features of the implementation of innovative development model in Kazakhstan.

  • The shared economy has been growing rapidly in recent years, creating an innovative economic paradigm based on the growing interest in sustainable development in the environmental aspect, the development of ICT technology, and the spread of mobile, Internet and smart environments. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors influencing of the shared economy on the intention of domestic consumers using shared economy services. Also we would like to find out if personal orientation on sustainable development actually have a valid impact on perceived values and intentions of using Shared Economy services. The result of the study shows that the factors affecting the intention to use Shared Economy service were perceived usefulness, subjective norm, perceived risk, and sustainable orientation which are characteristics of Shared Economy service. In addition the result of the indirect effect study Find that the individual felt the emotional value through the perceived usefulness and have the greatest influence on intention to use. Therefore, it implies that the marketing strategy of the Shared Economy service should take into consideration the elements that can feel emotional value through usability. In the future, We research on domestic success and failure cases of Shared Economy services and robust verification of influential factors could be continue.

  • This study made an attempt at the empirical analysis of the influence of domestic, foreign economic changes on economy in Incheon & Incheon International Airport. For this purpose, this study, setting up the member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD), Incheon Metropolitan City, and Incheon International Airport as research objects, conducted multi-regression analysis and path analysis of 11-year economic changes after the opening of the Incheon International Airport in 2001. As a research result, it was found that internal, external economic changes didn't show a positive influence on economy in Incheon, and growth & revitalization of the Incheon International Airport while international economic factors showed a directly positive influence on economy in Incheon, but the total effect directly related to Korean economy showed a negative influence. Accordingly, economy in Incheon has to actively cope with home, foreign macroeconomic change factors, and further, the endogenous growth strategy is required; as the methodolog.

  • Recently, studies conducted by our research group, revealed the possibility for reducing BSFC, NOx and PM emissions to meet the Euro 4 & 5 legislations. The main objective of the present study is to get better fuel economy in commercial vehicles by considering real driving conditions. Firstly, in order to improve fuel economy on fields, specifically it is required to analyze the driving pattern and make the representative modes from real field data. Secondly, it is performed to make the engine dynometer test to optimize the fuel consumption by reflecting on the representative driving modes, based on the Korea 2008 emission legislation equal to the Euro 4. The engine components such as engine calibration, combustion chamber, turbocharger and ancilliaries were modified to optimize vehicle fuel economy over a typical customer drive cycle whilst still meeting the exhaust emission restrictions. Finally, these results were confirmed by field testing of vehicle equipped with the updated calibration engine. It was placed the two vehicles together traveling the same route and accomplishing the same amount of stops(back to back), in order to evaluate the fuel consumption in comparison to the current vehicle. Through several repeats such as the engine calibration and field test, we could get 3 % to 7.7 % vehicle fuel economy improvements compared to previous vehicle.

  • Creative economy has been characterized by ideas popularized commercialization. The commercialization of the idea is to develop a creative economy virtuous circle tool, entrepreneurship and start-ups for this serves as a key driver of the creative economy. Convergence, complex thinking and creative planning ability is always a lot from the 20s came a young man. So young age of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education, and is easily capable of founding a new culture is created by the right products and services they lead the more outstanding talent in the way of entrepreneurship creates even young and energetic national economy. Such a wide range of system implementation and curriculum development to complete the creative economy with ecology is also a very critical situation. The development of a systematic entrepreneurship curriculum that promote creative thinking and planning ability for creative convergence of economic times is a top priority. The present study considered that the early stages of convergence entrepreneurship program presents a convergence process of entrepreneurship education through a process-oriented research based on statistics.

  • Both an optimal design of the engine operating strategy and fuel economy prediction technique for a HEV under the vehicle driving condition are very crucial for the development of vehicle fuel economy performance. Thus, in this study, engine operating characteristics of PRIUS III were analyzed with vehicle running conditions and the correlations between vehicle tractive power and fuel consumption were introduced. As a result, fuel economy performance of PRIUS III with various test modes were predicted and verified. Errors of predicted fuel economy were between -5% and -1%.
