Network analysis applications in energy management systems play a key role in the economic and reliable operation of power systems. In order to provide operators with useful network information, the accurate results of topology processing, state estimation, power flow, and contingency analysis must be simulated. This paper proposes a validation methodology of network analysis applications in energy management systems. The energy management systems was checked to ensure that it meets the originally specified functions based on the proposed methodology. In addition, the performance of state estimation is evaluated with the reference of the proposed methodology. The proposed methodology is being conducted by energy management systems and the Korean power systems have been utilized for the test systems.

This paper deals with the problem of estimating the autoregressive random coefficient of a first-order random coefficient autoregressive time series model applied to panel data of time series. The autoregressive random coefficients across individual units are assumed to be a random sample from a truncated normal distribution with the space (-1, 1) for stationarity. The estimates of random coefficients are obtained by an empirical Bayes procedure using the estimates of model parameters. Also, a Monte Carlo study is conducted to support the estimation procedure proposed in this paper. Finally, we apply our results to the economic panel data in Liu and Tiao(1980).

In Korea, rice is the major crop because rice cultivation serves both cultural and socio-economic purpose. For this reason, rice production survey is very important to the J\linistry of Agriculture and Forestry. Especially. the result of the rice production esimation is used for the agricultural policies. Then, we suggest the method of esimating rice production by using statistical model.

The social and economic level of damages might be highly increased in the case of wide-area black-outages, because of heavy dependence of electricity. Therefore, the development of a wide-area protection relay intelligence techniques is required to prevent massive power outages and minimize the impact strength at failure. The frequency monitoring and prediction for wide-area protection relaying intelligence has been considered as an important technology. In this paper, a network-based frequency monitoring system developed for wide-area protection relay intelligence is presented. In addition, conventional techniques for frequency estimation are compared, and a method for advanced frequency estimation and measurement to improve the precision is proposed. Finally, an integrated monitoring system called K-FNET(Korea-Frequency Monitoring Network) is implemented based on the GPS and various energy monitoring cases are studied.

Lots of infrastructures have been newly constructed through the rapid economic growth of 1970's. Since the infrastructures has mostly deteriorated and this circumstance makes the need for maintenance and rehabilitation(M&R) of infrastructures to obtain the convenience and safety of users even more essential. Although markets for M&R project become larger, the construction standards for cost estimation of M&R work are insufficient. Thus, the purpose of this study is to examine the present state of standards for cost estimation of M&R works using case studies. Finally, this work could be utilized as the basis for the development of national standard for estimation of M&R work.

This paper presents the methodology of DSM potential evaluation and estimation of commercial sector in Korea. In general, the estimation process of the potential savings of DSM activities include the determination of baseline electricity consumption, the instantaneous technical potential (ITP), the phased technical potential (PTP), the economic potential (EP), and the achievable potential(AP). The purpose of this paper is to provide evaluation process of those DSM potential savings based on top-down approach and apply it to commercial sector.
