  • Price, one of the marketing 4p's, is a key decision variable affecting market share and the profitability of individual products. For consumers, since price is almost always known to and can be compared, it is one of the most important criteria when they make a purchase decision making. With the consumers' increasing consciousness for price due to economic recession, and the saturation of domestic apparel market, it is expected that the effect of price on consumers' decision making would be greater than ever. This study, the first in two part series, focuses on testing the validity of dimensions of clothing price using Lichtenstein et. at. (1993)'s suggestion. In addition, the effect of demographic variables on the perception of each price dimension was investigated. The subjects were 264 college students living in Seoul, Korea. The data were collected by self -administered questionnaires and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, regression analysis and Lisrel confirmatory factor analysis. The result supported Lichtenstein et. al. (1993)'s suggestion. That is, consumers' perception of clothing price is not mini-dimensional, but has six dimensions: sale proneness, price mavenism, value consciousness, price consciousness, price -quality schema and prestige sensitivity. Demographic variables partially effect on the consumers' perception of each clothing price dimension. The level of monthly pocket money, however, has influence on all price dimensions. Based on these results, marketing implications for apparel manufacturers were suggested.

The major findings of this study are summarized in the following. First, college students' usage of disposable products was measured in two ways: the tendency to use disposable product and the quantities of disposable products consumed. The tendency to use disposable product was found to be 2.80/5, which indicates that college students' behavior of consuming disposable goods was less than moderate. On average, a college student consumed a total of 35 disposable products per month. Second, variables that affect college students' consumption of disposable products were investigated. The students who showed a higher tendency to use disposable products were those with more spending money, those without any experiences in the environmental organizations and clubs, those who had a low personal opinion toward university policies, those who regarded environmental protection as more important than economic growth, and those who thought environmental protection to be more important than fashion.

  • This study attempts to identify the structure of class conflict in Korea and to suggest an alternative framework for a empathetic society. The objective and subjective level of satisfaction with life and class consciousness are in direct proportion, and status consistency signifies polarization. Distorted distribution structures and cultural values make income disparity and property disputes widen, which in turn lead to educational divides and status fixations, refracting or blocking the possibility of social mobility. By overcoming the COVID-19 crisis, it is not appropriate to go back to the past but to correct wrong consciousness and practices in the past, and the consistency between the state and members of society must be re-established. Through the process of innovation at the economic, global, and digital level, a major transformation is required in the new normal era, which prioritizes social development for human values. The conflict resolution depends on the solidarity of the community as a social foundation, since an empathetic society needs the trust and communication of the members of the society.

Besides more than half of high school girls already experienced reforming it for better looks. As a result of current analysis on references of uniform designs, various levels of refinement were noticed even in uniform of similar details, design, fabric textile and color due to differences on size & length of jacket collar, dart, cutting line, size of details, decorative line, easiness in fit, length of clothes, and etc. To provide students of more refined and desired designs which reflect their demands, current uniforms are to begin acquiring delicate changes with present vogue and feature such as size of details, silhouette, cutting line, decorative line and etc. In addition newly designed uniforms are to present desirable design with image of refinement and neat as they actively comprehend students' needs within its symbolic, functional, economic and aesthetic characteristics by nature.
