  • In electrical power supply systems, an earthing system determines the electrical potential of the conductors relative to that of the Earth's conductive surface. The choice of earthing system has implications for the safety of the power supply. Note that regulations for earthing (grounding) systems vary considerably among different countries. A protective earth(PE) connection ensures that all exposed conductive surfaces are at the same electrical potential as the surface of the Earth, This paper investigates that when PEN conductor of TN-C-S system is disconnected, dangerous touch voltage is caused at personnel body. According to this paper, we can understand that when TN-C-S system is applied in Korea, what we should set up to ensure the personnel safety from fault current.

  • The power system analysis based on the accurate impedance of the individual underground cable, which is the inter connected to a large power system, is required. A study on calculation method of impedance allowable current for underground cables. furthermore, various methods of bonding and earthing the sheath have been used for the purpose of eliminating or reducing the sheath losses. the effectes of bonding and earthing must be includied in impedances. therefore, the subject of predicting thermal performance of soil and cable systems has been received increasing attension. for these problems, this paper describes a general formulation of impedance that is based on the effect of crossbonding and earthing of the sheath on the 66kV, 132kV and 220kV underground cable systems. also the work is presented, for calculating the temperature rise of power cable and soil.

  • Recently, there are many electricity, electronics, and communication equipment which need to earthing in the building. When electric current flows into a certain earthing system in the same building, the potential of other earthing system rises. This potential interference repuire surface potential of electrodes by electrode shape. In this paper basic formula is deduced on the basis of both electrodes surface potential of earth electrode as a source of the potential interference and earth electrode which receive the potential interference. The degree of potential interference as multiple earth electrode is verified the simulated results by means of the simple model in advance.

  • In the building, there are a lot of electricity, electrodes, and communication equipment. Many of those equipment needs to earthing. Naturally, the earth electrodes are constructed in the site of a building. In such a situation, when electric current flows into a certain earthing system the potential of other earthing systems rises. That is, the potential interference will take place between the earth electrodes. The conventional study has been considered by only the relation of the distance between the earth electrodes using the potential distribution formula of earth surface. However, it is necessary to inquire strictly, taking the surface potential of electrodes by electrode form into consideration. In this paper, basic formula is deduced on the basis of both electrodes surface potential of earth electrode as a source of the potential interference and earth electrode which receives the potential interference.

  • This Paper present about loop impedance measuring method by a comparison & analysis of the earthing systems in IEC60364. And comparing analysis about only considering a resistance and considering resistance & inductance. Result, For measuring of loop impedance than must measured resistance and reactance. And TT earthing system was lower fault current then TN systems, but an electric shock was higher then TN systems.

  • This paper represents the criteria of earthing system for substation design in Korea. The construction of new substations and expansion of existing facilities are commonplace projects in KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation). The KEPCO has had the only design criteria, which need to be adequate criteria considering the new technology and environment in Korea.

  • This paper presents the real time stray current monitoring techniques on the DC railway system. These techniques are two types. The first one is the rail potential measurement technique between running rail and earthing mats on the important locations such as substation, station, and so on. And the second one is measurement technique of stray current through substation earthing mats and from collection mats, and continuous monitoring of return currents through the running rails. We need to apply these techniques on DC railway system to monitor stray current periodically and maintain the system properly.
