Korea, China and Japan show distinct features in their school environmental education, which are derived from their own spreading processes. Japanese school environmental education has developed as a result of assimilating of anti-pollution education and nature education, and has a feature that makes much of nature experiences. The introduction of 'Period for Integrated Study' in 2002 seems to begin activating Japanese school environmental education. Chinese school environmental education started in higher education institutions around the middle of 1970's, and has a feature that makes a point of scientific approach, even in primary education schools. The two government ordinances,'National Action Program for Environmental General Knowledge ($1996{\sim}2010$)' and 'Educational Scheme of Environmental Theme Study for Elementary and Secondary School Students' issued in 2003, gradually promote school environmental education in China. It is remarkable that Science and Technology Centers for Youth and also increasing environmental NPOs often support environmental activities in elementary or secondary schools. The most notable feature of Korean school environmental education is that 'Environment' has already offered as a regular elective subject in junior high school, and official 'Environment' textbook has published since early 1990's. Though, the adoption rate of 'Environment' is not yet so high. Each country's peculiar issues are as follows. Japan: (1) Students often lack basic knowledge about environmental important problems. (2) 'Period for Integrated Study' is now threatened with cutting hours by the idea of increasing periods for basic subjects to keep high achievement. China: (1) There are large regional differences and school distinctions in operation of environmental education. (2) Adult environmental education needs to be expanded, because the most part of Chinese have no experience of school environmental education. Korea: (1) The relationship between the administrative division which plans school environmental education and teachers group is not quite well. The adoption rate of 'Environment' in junior high school needs to be improved. The training of many teachers for environmental education instructors may be the most important and effective cooperative action among Korea, China and Japan, and for that purpose we ought to work on making a better handbook for instructors, at first.

At the initial design stage, the generation process of the production material information of a building block and the simulation process of the block erection, which are required to perform the production planning and scheduling, have been manually performed by using 2D drawings, data of parent ships, and design experiences. To make these processes automatic, the accurate generation method of the production material information and the convenient simulation method of the block erection using the 3D CAD model, which was generated from the initial hull structural design system early developed by us, were proposed in this study. For this, a 3D CAD model for a whole hull structure was generated first, and the block division method for dividing the 3D CAD model into several building blocks was proposed. The generation method of the production material information for calculating the weight, center of gravity, painting area, joint length, etc. of a building block was proposed as well. Moreover, the simulation method of the block erection was proposed. Finally, to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed methods for the generation of the production material information and the simulation of the block erection, these methods were applied to corresponding processes of a deadweight 300,000 ton VLCC (Very Large Crude oil Carrier). As a result, it was shown that the production material information of a building block can be accurately generated and the block erection can be conveniently simulated in the initial design stage.
This study investigated the relationship between the ecological literacy and the sense of happiness of child day care teachers. One hundred twenty -five child care teachers in the Incheon and Kyunggi areas were participated in this study. Data responses from day care teachers were analyzed sing SPSS 17. The results were as follows. First, generally, there was a significant difference in ecological literacy depending on child day care teachers' carre, experiences in early childhood, and in-service teacher program. However, there was no difference in ecological literacy except in ecological literacy attitude depending on child day care teachers' academic area. Second, there was a correlations between the ecological literacy and the sense of happiness of child day care teachers. This study will provide basic information to better understand the relationship between the ecological literacy and the sense of happiness of child day care teachers.
The continuous expansions and development of nuclear power have led to generation of the significant volume of spent fuels and radioactive wastes. And so, safe and effective management of the spent fuel has been becoming internationally sensitive and significant issue since the early 1990s. Especially, more importance would be added in the view point of international politics, because of recent political changes in the countries of Eastern Europe including dissociation of the former Soviet Union and the difficulties faced by the nuclear industries worldwide. Accordingly, this paper is proposed to show an overview of national strategies and Policies on the spent fuel management, that are being assessed and carried out worldwide at this time. The overview is based on recent developments of the national strategies, their implementations and some related experiences presented in IAEA International meetings and some technical papers.
Occupational hazards of firefighting and rescue works include frequent exposure to emergencies and life-threatening situations. These stressful work conditions of being constantly under pressure and exposed to potentially traumatic events put them at higher risk of developing posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), compared to the general population. PTSD is a potentially debilitating mental disorder, due to persistent intrusive thoughts, negative alterations of mood and cognition, hypervigilance, avoidance of similar situations and reminders, and re-experiences of the traumatic event. Previous studies have shown a relatively high prevalence of PTSD among firefighters, indicating the need for a systematic approach of early detection and prevention. Therefore, a critical review of the current literature on PTSD in firefighters would provide valuable insights into developing effective prevention and intervention programs. Literature indicated that there are risk factors of PTSD in firefighters, such as pre-existing depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, occupational stress, physical symptoms, and binge drinking, whereas social support and adequate rewards are protective factors. Although there are differences in the prevalence of PTSD across studies, partly due to various assessment tools utilized, different sample sizes, and sample characteristics, over one tenth of the firefighters were estimated to have PTSD. The current review warrants further investigations to precisely assess PTSD and co-morbid mental disorders, functional outcomes, and associated factors, and to develop evidence-based preventive and interventional programs to help firefighters with PTSD.
Purpose: The diagnosis of acute pyelonephritis (APN) is often difficult, as its clinical and biological manifestations are non-specific in children. If not treated quickly and adequately, however, APN may cause irreversible renal damage, possibly leading to hypertension and chronic renal failure. We were suspecting the diagnostic value of $^{99m}Tc$-dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) scan by experiences and so compared the results of DMSA scan to those of multi-detector row computed tomography (MDCT). Methods: We retrospectively selected and analyzed 81 patients who were diagnosed as APN by MDCT during evaluation of their acute abdomen in emergency room and then received DMSA scan also for the diagnostic work-up of APN after admission. We evaluated the results of imaging studies and compared the diagnostic value of each method by age groups, <2 years (n=45) and ${\geq}$2 years (n=36). Results: Among total 81 patients with MDCT-proven APN, DMSA scan was diagnostic only in 55 children (68%), while the remaining 26 children (32%) showed false negative normal findings. These 26 patients were predominantly male and most of them, 19 (73.1%) were <2 years of age. Conclusion: DMSA scan holds obvious limitation compared to MDCT in depicting acute inflammatory lesions of kidney in children with APN, especially in early childhood less than 2 years of age. MDCT showed hidden lesions of APN, those were undetectable through DMSA scan in children.
The Gifted need the constructivist loaming environments that reflect his or her cognitive and affective characteristics and needs to exert their potential fully. 'Structural Communication'was designed to encourage creative thinking in learners, allowing them to create an understanding of a topic, not simply memorize facts. It is considered in line with constructivist philosophy and cognitive paradigms. The major purpose of this study is to explore 'Web-Based Structural Communication'program to embody the collaborative loaming based on constructivism. It was applied on high school $2\times2$ matrix teaming for the gifted students. Recently developed computer technology, emerging network facilities, and internet enable us to extend the usefulness and efficiency of 'Structural Communication’Especially web provides not only the discussion environment that is free from space and time constraints and characteristics of leasers, but also the experiences of knowledge construction through the collaborative learning. Through the 'Web-based Structural Communication', the gifted will be able to argue, persuade and share their unique ideas and gradually elaborated ill-structured ideas. The gifted will escape from the tunnel vision of the early time and have multiple perspectives that are more objective and logical. As the result, the gifted are expected to acquire the effect of 'the Zone of Proximal Development'that Vygotsky advocated.
In this study, the characteristics of visually impaired elementary students' conceptions on dissolution were investigated. The semi-structured interviews about phenomenon of dissolution, uniformity of solution, conservation of mass on dissolving and volume change during dissolving were conducted with 4 fifth-grade elementary students with visual impairments (three were blind, and one had low-vision). Interviews were recorded and the data were analyzed after transcription. As a result, students with visual impairments knew well about the phenomenon of dissolution, uniformity of solution, and conservation of mass on dissolving, while they couldn't explain volume change during dissolving. Although students with visual impairments were found to have similar level of understanding with students without visual impairments, they had sounder understanding about uniformity of solution. However, students with visual impairments had superficial understanding based on phenomenal experiences. Some of students with visual impairments tried to give micro-level explanation. Based on these results, educational implications were discussed.

Based on 'Backpack-free day' and 'Unsupervised studying day' in the early 1980s, 10% of all schools in 2004 had at least 1 day of five-day classes a month as at least 2 days were enforced in 2006, and most elementary and middle schools had widely enforced the five-day class since 2012 March. The five-day class system expands the stage of studying from school to families and local societies to build an educational community related to school-family-local societies to provide various activities such as culture, art, sports, social, nature experiences on holidays to have the goal to foster creative future talents with proper personality understanding and considering others. In Busan, the five-day week class of Saturday program is being operated in various methods by national local government and public organizations. The Saturday program of local societies registered in the Saturday school of the information sharing networks are 2823 in total for the past 6 years which are being operated by national local government and public organizations. However, participation of students in the Saturday program is around 20% in 2012 March when Saturday holiday system was widely conducted. For this, problems in the Saturday programs that are currently being enforced are to be closely analyzed and participation expansion plans are to be made. Therefore, this study analyzes and investigates operation forms of Saturday programs conducted in Busan to propose an improvement plan to fulfill goals of Saturday programs and boost participation of students.

Introduction: To prevent and manage the societal and economic burden of occupational diseases (ODs), countries should develop strong prevention policies, health surveillance and registry systems. This study aims to contribute to the improvement of OD surveillance at national level as well as to identify priority actions in Turkey. Methods: The history and current status of occupational health studies were considered from the perspective of OD surveillance. Interpretative research was done through literature review on occupational health at national, regional and international level. Analyses were focused on countries' experiences in policy development and practice, roles and responsibilities of institutions, multidisciplinary and intersectoral collaboration. OD surveillance models of Turkey, Belgium and the Netherlands were examined through exchange visits. Face-to-face interviews were conducted to explore the peculiarities of legislative and institutional structures, the best and worst practices, and approach principles. Results: Some countries are more focused on exploring OD trends through effective and cost-efficient researches, with particular attention to new and emerging ODs. Other countries try to reach every single case of OD for compensation and rehabilitation. Each practice has advantages and shortcomings, but they are not mutually exclusive, and thus an effective combination is possible. Conclusion: Effective surveillance and registry approaches play a key role in the prevention of ODs. A well-designed system enables monitoring and assessment of OD prevalence and trends, and adoption of preventive measures while improving the effectiveness of redressing and compensation. A robust surveillance does not only provide protection of workers' health but also advances prevention of economic losses.
