Microstructural characteristics such as hydrates and porosity greatly influence the development of concrete strength. In this study, a strength estimation model for early-age concrete considerig, the microstructural characteristics was proposed, which considers the effects of both an increment of degree of hydration and capillary porosity on a strength increment. Hydration modeling and compressive strength test with curing temperature and curing ages were carried out. By comparing test results with estimated strength, it is found that the strength estimation model can estimate compressive strength of early-age concrete with curing ages and curing temperature within a margin of error.
The production of ultra-early-strength concrete (UESC) traditionally involves complexity or necessitates high-temperature curing conditions. However, this study aimed to achieve ultra-early-strength performance solely through room-temperature curing. Experimental results demonstrate that under room-temperature (28℃) curing conditions, the concrete attained compressive strengths of 20 MPa at 4 hours and 69.6 MPa at 24 hours. Additionally, it exhibited a flexural strength of 7.5 MPa after 24 hours. In contrast, conventional concrete typically reaches around 20.6 MPa (3,000 psi) after approximately 28 days, highlighting the rapid strength development of the UESC. This swift attainment of compressive strength represents a significant advancement for engineering purposes. Small amounts of steel fibers (0.5% and 1% by volume, respectively) were added to address potential concrete cracking due to early hydration heat and enhance mechanical properties. This allowed observation of the effects of different volume contents on ultra-early-strength fiber-reinforced concrete (UESFRC). Furthermore, the compressive strength of 0.5% and 1% UESFRC increased by 16.3% and 31.3%, respectively, while the flexural strength increased by 37.1% and 47.9%. Moreover, toughness increased by 58.2 and 69.7 times, respectively. These findings offer an effective solution for future emergency applications in public works.
Meta-kaolin (MK) and blast furnace slag (BS) were used as raw materials with NaOH and sodium silicate as alkali activators for making geo-polymers. The compressive strength with respect to the various pre-curing conditions was investigated. In order to improve the recycling rate of BS while still obtaining high compressive strength of the geo-polymers, it was necessary to provide additional CaO to the MK by adding BS. The specimens containing greater amounts of BS can be applied to fields that require high initial compressive strength. Alkali activator(s) are inevitably required to make geo-polymers useful. High temperature pre-curing plays an important role in improving compressive strength in geo-polymers at the early stage of curing. On the other hand, long-term curing produced little to no positive effects and may have even worsened the compressive strength of the geo-polymers because of micro-structural defects through volume expansion by high temperature pre-curing. Therefore, a pre-curing process at a medium range temperature of $50^{\circ}C$ is recommended because a continuous increase in compressive strength during the entire curing period as well as good compressive strength at the early stages can be obtained.

This paper has been researched that the earlier compressive strength of the cement pastes containing nano-TiO2 particle curing 1day, 3days and 7days. For the compressive strength measurements, all samples(dimensions 50×50×50mm) were prepared in accordance with ASTM C109. The compressive strength of the specimens with nano-TiO2 at the early age(1day, 3days and 7days) stage was lower than that of the reference group. Therefore, nano-TiO2 has little positive effect on the improvement of the compressive strength of cement pastes during early ages.

The strength of concrete is developed by cement hydration reaction influenced by the circumferential temperatures. In this study, therefore, the experiments are conducted and evaluated about the characteristics as changes of early concrete placing temperature and curing temperature to understand the effects of the temperature which influences concrete properties. The results of the experiments changing the early concrete placing temperature in 5$^{\circ}C$ and 10$^{\circ}C$ are followed. In case of conducting standard concrete curing, early compressive strength development rate of the concrete which had low placing temperature was low, but it was shown that early compressive strength development rate was not affected by low placing temperature in age 28 days of concrete. In case of conducting outdoor curing in winter, early compressive strength development rate of the concrete which had high placing temperature was high in all test specimens. As a results, early compressive strength development of concrete was influenced by temperature of early concrete, but after aging 28 days of concrete, it was influenced by curing temperature rather than temperature of early concrete.
The present study verifies compressive strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity, electrical resistance, permeable ratio, and shrinkage from waste glass controlled low strength materials (WGCLSM) and early-high-strength WGCSLM specimens, by replacing the sand with waste glass percentages of 0%, 10%,20%, and 30%. This study reveals that increasing amounts of waste LCD glass incorporated into concrete increases WGCLSM fluidity and reduces the setting time, resulting in good working properties. By increasing the glass to sand replacement ratio, the compressive strength decreases to achieve low-strength effects. Furthermore, the electrical resistance also rises as a result of increasing the glass to sand replacement ratio. Early-high-strength WGCSLM aged 28 days has twice the electrical resistance compared to general WGCSLM. Early-high-strength WGCSLM aged 7 days has a higher ultrasonic pulse velocity similar to WGCSLM aged 28 days. The variation of length with age of different compositions is all within the tolerance range of 0.025%. This study demonstrates that the proper composition ratio of waste LCD glass to sand in early-high-strength WGCSLM can be determined by using different amounts of glass-sand. A mechanism for LCD optical waste glass usage can be established to achieve industrial waste minimization, resource recycling, and economic security.

This study was carried out to research the strength drop of concrete in dry environment. The mixing ratio of cement-fine aggregate was 1: 1, 1 : 2, 1: 3 and 1 : 4. The curing was compared standard curing with dry curing immediately after casting. It is analysis of strength change by water-proof mixing. The curing age of cement mortar was 3days, 7days, l4days and 28days. The result obtained from this study are summarized as follows. 1. The compressive and bending strength change by increasing the curing age, dry curing mortar the increasing rate of strength was decreased than standard curing mortar. 2. The compressive and bending strength change in early curing, strength difference between standard curing mortar and dry curing motar was gradually closed by increasing the W/C. 3. The dry curing mortar was decreased than standard curing mortar in decreasing rate of compressive and bending strength by increasing the W/C. 4. The compressive strength of water-proof mortar in early curing, liquid water-proof mortar was shown high strength in dry curing than standard curing. The powder and liquid water-proof mortar have a small effect in dry environment. The liquid water-proof mortar was high strength without relation change of curing age in dry environment than standard curing. 5. The compressive strength of liquid water-proof mortar in poverty mix, dry curing was shown high strength than standard curing. 6. The bending strength was increased than compressive strength by decreasing the volume of cement in early curing. The increasing rate of bending strength was decreased to compressive stength by increasing the curing age.

In this study, the compressive strength development was analyzed at early ages of concrete specimens admixed with non-sintered hwangto to reduce the CO2 emissions generated during cement production. The W/B of the specimens was set at 0.41, the percentage of non-sintered hwangto admixture was set at three levels of 15, 30, and 45%, and the compressive strength were measured at 1, 3, 7, and 28 days. The results showed that the compressive strength decreases as the percentage of non-sintered hwangto increases, but the strength development rate increases, and the NHTC41-15 test specimen developed a compressive strength close to NC41 at 28 days.
