  • The purpose of this study is to research how a teaching personality and ethics in teaching affect the competence of students majoring in early childhood education. Questionnaires were distributed to 211 early childhood education students residing in I-city. For this study, frequency analysis, averages, and standard deviation were calculated by using SPSS 22.0, with Cronbach's alpha for the reliability test. To determine the relevance of each variable, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were done, with results as follows. First, the teaching personalities perceived most by the students were morality and educational principles. Ethics for infants and ethics for households were most perceived in the ethics of teaching; for competency, understanding of the curriculum, understanding infant protection, and learning support were perceived the most. Second, there is a statistically significant correlation among a teacher's personality, ethics, and competence. Third, the sub-factors of both personality and ethics have a positive effect on competence. The above results indicate that there should be multilateral research into students majoring in early childhood education to ensure they have correct and positive competency so they can provide high-quality early childhood education services, recognizing the importance of competence.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the predictability of variables among technology easy to use, perceived usefulness, and technostress that had impacts on kindergarten preservice teachers' technology intention to use. For this study, the survey data collected by 64 students who were enrolled in the kindergarten preservice teacher education were analysed by using multiple regression analysis. The results of this study showed as follows. First, technology easy to use significantly affected perceived usefulness. Second, technology easy to use negatively affected technostress. Third, perceived usefulness significantly affected technology intention to use while technostress negatively affected it. From this results, it is revealed that various technology training opportunities would be provided for improving preservice teachers' technology intention to use and lessing preservice teachers' technostress. Furthermore, effective teaching-learning strategies for utilizing technology as an educational media should be developed in the early childhood educational environment.

  • The purpose of this study purpose was to analyze the structural model of variables such as experiences and personal- and professional- beliefs of cultural diversity, and the culturally responsive teaching efficacy of early childhood preservice teachers including identifying the beliefs as mediating variables. Another purpose was finding the different structural relations among the research variables according to the stages of a teacher education program. The participants were 273 students who enrolled in K grade teacher education programs in the southwest areas of the U.S. The research variables were measured with the items used by Schroeder (2008), Pohan and Aguilar (2001), and Siwatu (2007). The structural equation model analysis showed that the direct effects were found between the paths from the cultural diversity experiences and personal beliefs to the culturally responsive teaching efficacy, from the experiences to personal beliefs, from the personal to professional beliefs. The personal beliefs were identified as a mediator of the path from the experiences to professional beliefs. By multi-group analysis, the path from professional beliefs to the culturally teaching efficacy showed a meaningful difference between the initial and final stage groups of a teacher education program. Suggestions for future research and early childhood teacher education programs were presented based on the results.
