Abiotic stress conditions such as cold, drought, and salinity trigger physiological and morphological changes and yield loss in plants. Hence, plants adapt to adverse environments by developing tolerance through complex regulation of genes related to various metabolic processes. This study was conducted to construct a coexpression network for multidirectional analysis of salt-stress response genes in Brassica rapa (Chinese cabbage). To construct the coexpression network, we collected KBGP-24K microarray data from the B. rapa EST and microarray database (BrEMD) and performed time-based expression analyses of B. rapa plants. The constructed coexpression network model showed 1,853 nodes, 5,740 edges, and 142 connected components (correlation coefficient > 0.85). On the basis of the significantly expressed genes in the network, we concluded that the development of salt tolerance is closely related to the activation of $Na^+$ transport by reactive oxygen species signaling and the accumulation of proline in Chinese cabbage.

The whole genome sequence was completed in arabidopsis and rice. Large amounts of EST data have been available from many other plants. Also, vast quantities of diverse biological data have been generated by various '-omics' technologies such as transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics. Bioinformatics plays an essential role in extracting useful information from these tremendous amounts of biological data. In this review we introduced experimental methods to generate massive data, applications to plant science such as plant disease resistance and molecular breeding and bioinformatics tools and web sites available in plant biotechnology R&D. We concluded that new experimental methods and bioinfomation analysis techniques have made major contributions to the development of plant biotechnology and that bioinformatics has become a critical factor in plant biotechnology R&D.
Finger millet (Eleusine coracana) is widely cultivated in tropical regions worldwide owing to its high nutritional value. Finger millet is more tolerant against biotic and abiotic stresses such as pests, drought, and salt than other millet crops; therefore, it was proposed as a candidate crop to adapt to climate change in Korea. In 2019, we used expressed sequence tag simple sequence repeat (EST-SSR) markers to evaluate the genetic diversity and structure of 102 finger millet accessions from two geographical regions (Africa and South Asia) to identify appropriate accessions and enhance crop diversity in Korea. In total, 40 primers produced 116 alleles, ranging in size from 135 to 457 bp, with a mean polymorphism information content (PIC) of 0.18225. Polymorphism was detected among the 40 primers, and 13 primers were found to have PIC values > 0.3. Principal coordinate and phylogenetic analyses, based on the combined data of both markers, grouped the finger millet accessions according to their respective collection areas. Therefore, the 102 accessions were classified into two groups, one from Asia and the other from Africa. We have conducted an in-depth study on the finger millet landrace pedigree. By sorting out and using the molecular characteristics of each pedigree, it will be useful for the management and accession identification of the plant resource. The novel SSR markers developed in this study will aid in future genetic analyses of E. coracana.
State ment of Problems. Although some clinicians report long-term success with fixed partial denture (FPD) that contain cantilever pontic, the use of cantilever FPDs may be hazardous because of unfavorable leverages during mastication. Purpose of Study. This study aims to compare the stress induced in the periodontium with normal and reduced bone support, and to analyze the stress distribution patterns of anterior cantilevered FPDs using the finite element method. Results. Cantilever bridge with a reduced bone level generated the highest peak stresses in the periodontium. In the models of reduced bone support, a cantilever bridge exhibited the great-est mobility and a 3-unit fixed restorations induced the smallest mobility of canine. The highest peak stress level of a 3-unit bridge in the periodontium is similar to the unrestored situation. But stress distribution in the bone is modified. Conclusion. In reduced bone support, a cantilever bridge exhibited the greatest mobility and stress.

As the genome of B.mori is available in GenBank and the EST database of B.mori is expanding, identification of novel genes of B.mori is conceivable by data-mining techniques. We used the in silico cloning method to get the vacuolar-type $H^+-ATP$ synthetase (V-ATPase) c subunit (16 kDa proteolipid subunit) gene of B.mori and analysed with bioinformatics tools. The result was confirmed by RT-PCR and sequencing. The V-ATPase c subunit cDNA contains a 468 bp ORF. The ORF encoded a 155-residue protein that showed extensive homology with V-ATPase c subunits from other 15 species and contained four membrane-spanning helices. Tissue expression pattern analysis revealed that V-ATPase c expressed strongly in Malpighian tubules, not in fat body. This gene has been registered in GenBank under the accession number EU082222.
The main purpose of this study is to inves-tigate brand loyalty on ready-to-wear of fe-male. The subjects were two hundred ninty females in Taegu. Using SPSS package in or-der to identify relations of clothing selection behavior and information source uses multivariate analysis of variance(MANPVA) univariate analysis of variance(ANOVA) were executed. Scheffe est a kind of post-hoc multiple comparisons methods was adapted. conclusions reached in this study are as follows: 1. Clothing purchase pattern of consumers classified brand loyal group and brand dis-loyal group. The number of people in the brand loyal group was fifty more than that of the brand disloyal group. 2. In relation of brand loyalty and clothing selection behavior brand loyal group had high scores on individuality and exhibition of clothing selection behavior. Brand dis-loyal group had high scors on economy practicality courtesy facility. 3. In difference of information uses on brand loyalty brand loyal group had high scores on printed-information source, broadcast-ing-information source broadcast-ing-information sources. Among them brand loyal group particularly used printed-infor-mation source more than brocasting infor-mation source. On the contray brand dis-loyal group have high scores on human-in-formation source.
The genus Porphyra, consisting of 133 species includes several economically valuable species (i.e. P. yezoensis, P. tenera, P. pseudolinearis etc.). They are predominantly consumed and cultivated in East Asian countries such as Japan, Korea and China, and they are regarded as a big commercial market today. In addition to the industrial importance, P. yezoensis is currently regarded as a feasible candidate for a model plant in marine biotechnology, therefore there are a wide range of studies being undertaken: strain-preservation, development of mutant strains and genetic analysis and exhaustive molecular analysis including EST and macro/micro array. Focusing on the activities of our research group, current situation and future perspectives in marine biotechnological studies using P. yezoensis will be discussed in this mini review.
EST analysis was performed to identify stress-responsive and immune-related genes from mud loach (Misgurnus mizolepis), cDNA libraries were constructed with liver, intestine and kidney tissues and randomly chosen clones (216 for liver, 198 for intestine and 224 for kidney) were subjected to automated sequence analysis. Of 638 clones sequenced in totlal, approximalely 25% of ESTs was novel sequences (no match to GenBank) or sequences with high homology to hypothrtical/unknown genes. Several potential stress-responsive biomarker and/or immure-related genes were identified in all the tissues examined. It included lectin, MHC class I/II proteins, proteinase inhibitors, superoxide dismulase, catalase, glutathionc-S. transferase, heat-shock protein, warm temperature acclimation protein, complements, methylrransferasc, zinc finger proteins, macrophage maturation associated protein, and others. This information will offer new possibilities as fundamental baseline data for the molecular genetics and breeding of this species with an emphasis on the development of stress. Recently, power demand has been increasing every year according to variation of electrical equipments and temperature rise in summer season. So, much more overhead line is being demanded to copy with increasing power demand and operate reliable power system. This paper analysis the characteristics of long span overhead transmission line using special high-tension wire in such as a safety factor, coefficient of elasticity, and the coefficient of linear expansion. Based on the analysis, we proposed the effectiveness of special high-tension wire having much more advantages with respect to height of steel tower and dip compared with conventional ACSR in long span overhead transmission line.
Panax ginseng root has been used as a major source of ginsenoside throughout the history of oriental medicine. In recent years, scientists have found that all of its biomass, including embryogenic calli and flower buds can contain similar active ingredients with pharmacological functions. In this study, transcriptome analyses were used to identify different gene expressions from embryogenic calli and fl ower buds. In total, 6,226 expressed sequence tags (ESTs) were obtained from cDNA libraries of P. ginseng. Insilico analysis was conducted to annotate the putative sequences using gene ontology functional analysis, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes orthology biochemical analysis, and interproscan protein functional domain analysis. From the obtained results, genes responsible for growth, pathogenicity, pigments, ginsenoside pathway, and development were discussed. Almost 83.3% of the EST sequence was annotated using one-dimensional insilico analysis.
