패션 기업의 ESG 활동등급 수준이 경영성과 및 기업가치에 미치는 영향의 차이 (The Difference in the Impact of Fashion Companies' ESG Activity Grade Levels on Management Performance and Corporate Value)

  • This study focused on analyzing the difference in the impact of non-financial performance, specifically ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) activity grade level, on management performance and corporate value among the 25 fashion companies listed on the Korea Exchange that completed their ESG evaluation in 2022. The companies were categorized into three levels based on their ESG evaluations: ESG Integrated Grade (ESG-T), ESG-E (Environmental), ESG-S (Social), and ESG-G (Governance). The study then empirically analyzed how these levels affected management performance and corporate value. The empirical analysis revealed significant differences in the impact on management performance and corporate value depending on the ESG activity grade level. Companies with higher ESG grades exhibited better management performance and higher corporate values across all ESG sub-variables (ESG-T, ESG-E, ESG-S, ESG-G) compared to those with lower grades. This finding demonstrates the influence of ESG activity grade levels on improving management performance and enhancing corporate value in fashion companies. The results of this research provide meaningful insights into the direction of sustainable management through ESG activities in fashion companies.

직무자원으로서 ESG 활동 인식이 직무만족과 친사회적 행동을 통해 직무수행능력 향상에 미치는 영향, 콜센터 직원들을 대상으로 (Employees' Environment, Social, and Governance Activity Recognition as Job Resource Enhancing Job Performance via Job Satisfaction and Prosocial Behavior among Call Center Employees)

  • 이 연구는 콜센터직원의 ESG 활동 지각이 직무만족, 친사회적 활동 및 직무 성과에 미치는 영향을 본다. 연구를 수행하기 위하여, 국내 주요 보험사의 콜센터직원 264명으로부터 데이터를 수집한 후 SmartPLS 4.0을 사용하여 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과에 따르면, ESG 활동에 대한 직원 인식이 직무만족을 유의하게 향상시켰다. 하지만 ESG 활동 지각이 친사회적 행동에 미치는 영향은 유의하나 상대적으로 미미했다. 직무만족은 직원의 친사회적 행동과 직무 성과를 긍정적으로 높이는 역할을 수행하였다. 또한, 친사회적 행동은 직무 성과에 긍정적으로 높여주었다. 중요한 시사점으로는 직원의 기업 ESG 경영 활동에 대한 지각이 그들의 직무자원 역할을 한다는 것을 밝혀낸 것이다. 이러한 직원들의 지각이 직원의 태도, 행동 및 성과에 영향을 준다는 사실은 기업의 윤리적 행동을 직원에게 홍보하는 것에 대한 장점을 보여준다.

The Effect of ESG Management on Social Welfare Organizations

  • Purpose: There is a significant opportunity for ESG management to act as a useful guideline for social welfare organizational structures when dealing with sustainability and ethical leadership. The ESG guidelines should allow these companies to improve their business efficacy. This paper aims to explore the specific impacts of ESG management on social welfare. Research design, data and methodology: The systematic review approach ensures that quality work is undertaken in tackling the existing gaps in the literature on ESG management in social welfare organizations. The outcomes of this review will give a useful 'real-life' picture of the consequences of ESG practices and suggestions that can increase the efficiency and sustainability of social welfare organizations. Results: The principal favorable consequences are discussed in this chapter regarding the social welfare organization due to the implementation of ESG management. Subsequently, each effect is posted under different sub-titles and evidence from previously conducted research studies. Conclusions: ESG management is vital for social welfare organizations since it increases their efficiency in operations, public image, and opportunities to receive funds, and it helps improve relations with stakeholders. More so, these organizations can embrace the ESG practices and as a result bring more efficiency to the general welfare of the society.

Research Trends Analysis on ESG Using Unsupervised Learning

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify research trends related to ESG by domestic and overseas researchers so far, and to present research directions and clues for the possibility of applying ESG to Korean companies in the future and ESG practice through comparison of derived topics. Research design, data and methodology: In this study, as of October 20, 2022, after searching for the keyword 'ESG' in 'scienceON', 341 domestic papers with English abstracts and 1,173 overseas papers were extracted. For analysis, word frequency analysis, word co-occurrence frequency analysis, BERTopic, LDA, and OLS regression analysis were performed to confirm trends for each topic using Python 3.7. Results: As a result of word frequency analysis, It was found that words such as management, company, performance, and value were commonly used in both domestic and overseas papers. In domestic papers, words such as activity and responsibility, and in overseas papers, words such as sustainability, impact, and development were included in the top 20 words. As a result of analyzing the co-occurrence frequency of words, it was confirmed that domestic papers were related mainly to words such as company, management, and activity, and overseas papers were related to words such as investment, sustainability, and performance. As a result of topic modeling, 3 topics such as named ESG from the corporate perspective were derived for domestic papers, and a total of 7 topics such as named sustainable investment for overseas papers were derived. As a result of the annual trend analysis, each topic did not show a relatively increasing or decreasing tendency, confirming that all topics were neutral. Conclusions: The results of this study confirmed that although it is desirable that domestic papers have recently started research on consumers, the subject diversity is lower than that of overseas papers. Therefore, it is suggested that future research needs to approach various topics such as forecasting future risks related to ESG and corporate evaluation methods.

  • 본 연구는 한국 사회와 기업 경영의 주요 이슈가 되고 있는 ESG 경영 활동과 조직공정성에 대한 영향 관계와 조직공정성이 조직신뢰, 조직동일시에 미치는 영향 관계를 검증하였다. 또한, ESG 활동 인식과 조직신뢰 및 조직동일시 간의 관계에서 조직공정성의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 기업체 종사 종업원의 재직회사의 ESG 활동에 대한 인식은 조직공정성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것이 확인되었다. 둘째, 종업원의 조직공정성 인식은 종업원의 조직신뢰와 조직동일시에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것이 확인되었다. 셋째, 종업원의 ESG 활동 인식과 조직신뢰와 조직동일시 간의 영향 관계에서 조직공정성의 매개효과를 확인하였다. 이에 따라, ESG 활동 강화와 회사의 제도적 관행 개선을 통한 조직공정성을 높여서, 조직의 경쟁력 강화를 위한 종업원의 긍정적 태도와 행동을 이끌어 내어야 할 것이다.

내외부 압력이 ESG 활동과 경영성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Internal and External Pressures on ESG Activities and Business Performance)

  • This study is a leading case of empirical analysis of whether, when corporate stakeholders (government, investors, customers, managers, employees) put pressure on companies for ESG management, it affects the introduction and implementation of ESG activities (environmental, social, governance) and affects business performance. As for the research method, a sustainability report was published, and a web survey of Korea Research Inc. was conducted from May 10 to May 20, 2022 targeting ESG management managers of 192 companies, and analyzed through the PLS structural equation model. As a result of the study, it was found that the introduction and execution of ESG is closely influenced by the pressure from the government, investors, managers, and employees, and in particular, the internal pressure of current managers and executives and employees has a great impact on the introduction and implementation of environmental, social, and governance activities. In particular, although external pressure also has some influence, it is practical to suggest that strong internal pressure is necessary for continuous activities and performance. And, methodologically, the main activity indicators of the GRI Reporting Guidelines, which are the most representative ESG management indicators, were developed as a questionnaire, and reliability, validity, and model fit were secured through comparison with indicators of multiple systems and expert reviews. The limitations of this study are that more in-depth analysis by industry or size is possible when ESG management is mature and sufficient samples are secured, and complex ESG pressure factor modeling is possible when more diverse stakeholders are added.

Effect of Elastic Compression Stocking and Kinesio Taping during Heel-raise Exercise on Muscle Activity, Mechanical Properties, and Muscle Fatigue in Healthy Women

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of the elastic compression stockings and Kinesio taping on muscle activity and mechanical properties in healthy women during the heel raise exercise that causes muscle fatigue. Methods: Participants were divided into the elastic compression stockings group (ESG, n=8), Kinesio taping group (KTG, n=8), and control group (CG, n=8). All participants performed the heel raise exercise to cause muscle fatigue. Muscle activity, stiffness, and the muscle tone of the gastrocnemius and tibialis anterior were measured before and after the heel raise exercise. Results: In the gastrocnemius, muscle activity was significantly increased after the heel raise exercise in both the ESG and KTG (p<0.05). There was a significant difference in the change in the gastrocnemius muscle activity between the groups (p<0.05). Post hoc analysis showed that the ESG exhibited a significantly greater change in gastrocnemius muscle activity than the CG (p<0.05). The muscle stiffness of the gastrocnemius was significantly decreased after the heel raise exercise in the ESG (p<0.05). The muscle tone of the gastrocnemius was significantly increased after the heel raise exercise in the control group (p<0.05). There were no significant differences in the change in the gastrocnemius stiffness and muscle tone between the groups (p>0.05). In the tibialis anterior, there were no significant differences in muscle activity, stiffness, and muscle tone between and within the groups (p>0.05). Conclusion: Our findings suggest that the use of elastic compression stockings and Kinesio taping during the heel raise exercise are beneficial and delay muscle fatigue in the gastrocnemius.

  • 본 연구는 탄소중립을 위해 노력하는 가스 관련 에너지 기업(기관)의 ESG 활동이 종업원의 조직 자부심과 조직 신뢰를 통해 직무성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위한 목적으로 진행되었다. 345명의 가스 관련 공공기관과 민간기업에 종사하는 직원의 설문 결과를 Smart PLS 4.0을 사용하여 분석하였으며, 연구모형과 가설을 설정한 후 검증하였다. 검증 결과 환경(E) 활동과 관련한 ESG 활동은 조직 자부심과 조직 신뢰에 영향을 미치지 않았으나, 사회(S) 활동과 지배구조(G) 활동은 조직 자부심과 조직 신뢰에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 조직 자부심과 조직 신뢰는 직무성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 ESG 조직구성원의 조직 자부심이 높을수록 조직신뢰가 직무성과에 미치는 영향이 높은 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 가스 관련 에너지 기업(기관)의 ESG 활동과 관련하여 발전적 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

ESG 정보가 투자자 정보비대칭에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of ESG Information on Investor Information Asymmetry)

  • This study analyzed the effect of Corporate Social Responsibility and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) score on information asymmetry from the perspective of investors, who are important stakeholders of the company. For KOSPI-listed companies from 2017 to 2020, the effect of ESG overall score and each item score (E, S, G) on the bid-ask spread, which is a proxy for information asymmetry, was confirmed. The results are as follows. First, the increase in corporate CSR activities resulted in lowering information asymmetry of investors. It was found that the higher the ESG score, an indicator of CSR activity, the lower the bid-ask spread, which is a proxy variable for information asymmetry. Second, as a result of analysis using ESG scores for each section, information asymmetry decreased as companies with higher scores in the environmental (E) and social (S) aspects, while the governance (G) score did not have a statistically significant effect. The analysis confirmed that corporate CSR activities can contribute to improving market efficiency by resolving information asymmetry of investors and convergence of the stock market into a state of equilibrium. This means that the company's CSR activities are reflected in the investment decision-making, which suggests that the company should consider the investor as a stakeholder in decision-making related to CSR activities.

편의점의 ESG활동이 점포충성도에 미치는 영향: 친환경가치관, 소셜미디어활동성, 소비자-기업동일시의 조절효과 (A Study on the convenience store brands' ESG activities impact store loyalty: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Eco-friendly Values, Social media Activity, Consumer-Company Identification)

  • 본 연구는 편의점의 ESG 활동이 소비자들의 점포충성도에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 알아보았다. 분석을 위해 온라인 전문기관(M사)을 통해 수집한 편의점 이용경험자 유효표본 300부를 이용하여, ESG중 환경(E), 사회(S), 지배구조(G)활동이 신뢰와 점포충성도에 미치는 영향, 신뢰의 매개효과와 친환경가치관, 소셜미디어 활동성, 소비자-기업동일시의 조절효과에 대해 실증분석 하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 지배구조활동이 신뢰에 정(+)의 영향을, 환경활동과 신뢰가 점포충성도에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤으나, 사회활동은 어떠한 영향도 미치지 못하였다. 둘째, 신뢰는 지배구조활동과 점포충성도와의 관계에서만 매개효과가 있었으며, 셋째, ESG 활동과 신뢰와의 관계에서 친환경가치관과 소셜미디어활동성은 환경, 사회, 지배구조활동 모두 조절효과가 있었고, 소비자-기업동일시는 환경, 지배구조활동에서는 조절효과가 있었으나, 사회활동에서는 조절효과가 없었다. 전반적으로 편의점은 ESG활동중 사회활동의 영향이 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 편의점 브랜드는 소비자의 신뢰 형성을 위해 부족한 환경, 사회활동을 더욱 강화해야 하며, 특히 환경활동은 직접적으로 점포충성도에만 영향을 미치므로 더욱 신중하고 적극적 활동이 필요할 것이다. 또한 친환경가치관, 소셜미디어 활동성, 소비자-기업동일시 정도가 높은 소비자들의 신뢰형성에 집중적 마케팅활동도 필요할 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 편의점 브랜드의 사회공헌활동에도 불구하고 소비자들의 비판적 시각을 개선하기 위해 사회활동 노력을 강화하고 더불어 고객 접점인 현장 가맹점의 ESG활동의 활발한 참여와 근무자들에 대한 교육이 필요함을 시사하고 있다.
