Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is widely adopted among enterprises and organizations. In recent years, researchers have become increasingly interested in factors related to ERP implementation success. In this paper, top management members, IT professionals, and end-users were interviewed in the study. The study used Hofstede's main cultural dimensions as a theoretical framework to identify cultural characteristics and their influence on ERP implementation within public organizations in Saudi Arabia. The study followed a qualitative methodology approach to carry on the study to investigate the national culture characteristics in Saudi Arabia that may influence ERP implementation success. The study found some culturally related factors that could influence success in ERP implantation projects in Saudi Arabia..

Numerous small and medium-sized manufacturing companies have implemented or plan to introduce ERP for their own survival in the highly competitive global market. Despite of increasing number of companies implementing ERP, there has been few research on evaluation of ERP performance in small and medium manufacturers. Thus, in this paper, the impact of ERP implementation on the organizational performance based on Balanced Score Card is investigated and also critical success factors are discovered. The results of analysis show positive relationships between the ERP implementation and organizational performance. This paper suggests some practical implication on the ERP implementation to the practitioners.

IT 발전 및 BPR의 적용과 더불어 많은 회사들이 비용감소와 업무효율화를 위해 ERP 시스템 도입하였지만, ERP 시스템의 실질적인 역할이나 투자효과에 대해서는 명확히 제시하지 못하고 있다. 본 연구는 ERP 시스템의 수행여부를 기준으로 조직간에 정보활용역량과 사업성과의 차이를 분석하여, ERP 시스템이 조직의 사업목표를 달성하는데 있어서 어떠한 역할을 하는지 밝혀 내고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 ERP 시스템의 수행 자체가 사업성과의 향상을 보증하는 것이 아니라, ERP 시스템의 실행을 통해 향상된 조직의 정보활용 역량이 사업성과의 발전을 유도하여 이는 결국 사업목표를 이루게 한다는 사실을 함축한다.

본 연구의 목적은 본사와 지사의 유연성이 글로벌 ERP 시스템의 구축 성과에 미치는 영향을 이해하는 것이다. 구체적으로 본 연구의 질문은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 글로벌 ERP 시스템 구축과 관련이 있는 본사와 지사의 유연성 차원에는 무엇이 있는가? 둘째, 이들 유연성 차원들 각각이 글로벌 ERP 시스템 구축 성과에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가? 본 연구는 이론적 검토를 통해 글로벌 ERP 시스템 구축과 관련이 있는 본사가 갖추어야 할 3가지 유형의 유연성과 지사가 갖추어야 할 3가지 유형의 유연성을 제시하였다. 그리고 본 연구는 글로벌 기업인 보그워너(BorgWarner)를 사례기업으로 선정하고 이 기업이 글로벌 ERP 시스템을 성공적으로 구축하는데, 어떤 유연성 요인이 성과에 기여하였는지를 사례 조사하였다.

Currently, many organizations introduce ERP system as a key enabler of business strategic accomplishment and it can improve productivity and efficiency of organizations by integration and managing enterprise resources. Already many organizations have introduced ERP systems and the number of introduced ERP system is increasing steadily. Unfortunately, even though organizations have invested much money, previous studies showed the ERP systems had not always turned in good result. It is easy to find many studies that suggest that successful implementing strategies for ERP systems. This study reviewed the previous literature on strategic use of change management in enterprise. In order to establish a successful implementation of ERP, this paper suggests proper solutions to conduct change management according to implementation phase with activity and output, especially analyzing successful organizations in implementing ERP system through consistent change management.

최근 ERP 시스템이 기업의 전략적 도구로 인식되어지면서, 대기업뿐만 아니라 중소기업에서도 이에 대한 관심이 확산되고 있다. 이러한 경영환경의 변화로 ERP 시스템 도입에 대한 최고경영자 및 일반직원들의 인식이 이전에 비해 높아지고는 있지만, 사실상 인식만 있을 뿐 이에 대한 실제적인 실천전략이 미흡한 실정이다. 이는 중소기업에서 ERP 시스템 구축을 위해서는 수개월 또는 수년간에 걸쳐서 기업의 많은 자원이 투입돼야하기 때문으로 중소기업이 이를 극복하고 성공적인 ERP 시스템을 구축하기 위해서는 중소기업 환경에 적합한 ERP 시스템 구축방안이 마련되어야 할 것이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존에 선행 연구된 연구자료를 비교ㆍ분석하여 중소기업의 특성에 적합한 ERP 시스템 구축 성공요인과 구축전략을 도출하였다. 또한 본 논문에서는 ERP 시스템 도입의사가 있어도 기업환경 여건이 따라주지 않아 실천에 옳기지 못하는 중소기업을 고려하여 도입지원방안으로써 산ㆍ학 연계모델을 제시하였다. 기존에 기술개발 위주로 수행되었던 산ㆍ학 협력활동을 기업의 ERP시스템 도입 지원방안으로 활용함으로써 각 지역에 분산되어있는 중소기업들의 ERP 시스템 도입 활성화를 이끌어 낼 수 있을 것이다. 또한 이를 통해 중소기업은 ERP 시스템 도입에 필요한 인적 물적 자원을 대학으로부터 얻음으로써 자체 내 보유능력의 한계를 극복하고, 대학은 현장실습을 통해 풍부한 경험을 쌓음으로써 우수 인력 양성에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

기업의 생산성, 품질향상 및 원가절감 등을 위해 공공기업에서도 ERP시스템을 도입하여 활용중이다. 본 논문은 ERP 도입 후 업무프로세스 개선 정도를 분석하여 ERP 도입 성과를 제시하였다. 이를 위해 K사를 대상으로 업무프로세스 개선이 어느 정도 향상 되었는지 설문을 통하여 자료를 수집하고, AHP기법을 이용하여 평가 방안을 제시하고 분석하였다. 설문을 통해 각 업무 분야별 가중치를 결정하고, 업무개선정도를 평가하기 위해 업무효율성, 업무처리 투명성, 정보공유도 향상, 사용편의성에 대해 ERP 도입 후 효과를 평가하였다. K사가 ERP 도입 초기임을 감안하면 ERP도입의 성과가 발현되는 것으로 판단할 수 있다. 프로세스 개선효과가 가장 크게 나타난 분야는 인사관리로 직원들이 실질적으로 활용 가능한 업무프로세스들이 포함되어 있어 가장 높은 평가를 받았다. 그러나 업무개선정도 지표인 정보공유도 향상은 상대적으로 낮은 평가를 받음으로써 추후 ERP시스템 보완이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 이와 같이 본 연구에서는 사용자 중심의 주관적인 평가를 AHP기법을 이용하여 ERP 도입성과를 정량화하여 보여줌으로써 공공발주기관의 ERP 도입 성과를 측정 평가하는데 도움을 줄 것으로 기대한다.

국내 조선산업의 전체 경쟁력 향상을 위해서는 조선소 뿐만 아니라 후방 산업인 조선기자재 업체들도 ERP 시스템을 통한 경영효율화를 달성해야만 한다. 그러나 조선기자재 업체들은 규모의 영세성과 주문생산 산업이라는 특성으로 인해서 성공적인 ERP 시스템 구축사례는 거의 보고되고 있지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 조선기자재 업체인 K업체를 대상으로 ERP 시스템 구축에 대한 심층적 사례분석을 시도하였다. 특히 ERP 시스템 구축 단계를 사전준비 단계, 구현 단계, 정착 안정화 단계로 구분하고, 각 단계에서 중요한 성공요인들을 도출하였다. K업체의 ERP 시스템은 현업에서 성공적으로 운영되고 있으며, 이를 통해서 정성적 정량적 성과가 크게 개선되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해서 ERP시스템 개발을 준비 중인 조선기자재 업체뿐만 아니라 중소기업 IT화 지원 사업을 지원하는 관리자들에게도 실무적 지침을 제시하였다.

현대기업경영에서 ERP 시스템은 기업의 전사적인 자원을 효율적으로 배치하고, 활용하는데 있어서 필수적인 도구로 자리매김하고 있다. ERP 시스템의 구현은 단순히 단위정보시스템의 도입이 아니라, BPR을 통한 전사적인 변화와 혁신이 필연적으로 이루어지게 되며, 이를 토대로 시스템 설계와 구축이 이루어지게 된다. 문화적 차이는 경영활동에서 기업 구성원의 태도와 인간관계 뿐 아니라, 조직문화와 기업의 운영원칙의 차이를 만들어낸다. 문화적 차이는 크게는 동양과 서양의 문화권에 대한 차이를 거론할 수 있으며, 작게는 같은 문화권 내의 각 국가마다의 차이를 말할 수 있다. 본 논문은 문화적 차이가 ERP 시스템의 구축과정과 시스템에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 이에 대해 ERP 시스템의 구축과정과 의사결정과정, 사용자 Interface에 대한 부분에서 문화적 차이가 미치는 각각의 영향을 분석했으며, 아울러 이에 따른 한국의 문화적 차이에 따른 영향도 분석하였다.

The major purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing the implementation performance of ERP Systems from an integrated viewpoint. For this purpose, a research model is developed based on the literature reviews of ERP systems, contingency theory, and change management theory. The research model proposed fifteen variables as the factors influencing the implementation performance in the ERP systems. The data have been collected from the 164 enterprises which implemented ERP systems at least one year ago. The respondents were person in charge of ERP system of each corporation. The results of hypothesis testing through multiple regression analysis are summarized as follows. Firstly, standardization of work, concentration of decision making, top management concern and support, real user participation, project support goodness, ease of use, and system usefulness have positive influence upon non-financial performance. Secondly, market uncertainty, industrial competition, project support goodness, and customization minimization have positive influence upon financial performance. From the analysis, this research have identified important characteristics for the successful implementation of ERP systems. Consequently, this research ends with managerial and theoretical implications of the study results, as well as limitations and future research directions.
