A Study of the Bituminous Coal Oxidation Factor in Large Scale Boilers for Estimating GHG Emissions

  • Korea-specific GHG emissions should be estimated correctly in order to ensure effective measurement of climate change variables. The use of country-specific data that reflects fuel and technology characteristics is needed for accurate GHG emissions estimation. Oxidation factors are used to convert existing data into equivalent GHG emissions, and changes in these oxidation factors are directly related to changes in emissions. As such, the oxidation factor is one of the most important variables in using country-specific data to determine GHG emissions. In this study, the oxidation factor of bituminous coal in large scale boilers was estimated using 4,527 data points sampled from eight large-scale boilers that had been using bituminous coal for two years. The average oxidation factor was determined to be 0.997, which is lower than the oxidation factor of 1 that is recommended by the IPCC G/L for large scale boilers when estimating national GHG emissions. However, an oxidation factor less than 1 is assumed for fluidized bed boilers, internal combustion engines, and other small-scale boilers. Accordingly, studies on oxidation factor estimation should be continued to allow for accurate estimation of GHG emissions.

고도처리 하수처리장 운전조건의 통계분석 (Statistical Analysis of Operating Parameters on Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant)

  • Statistical analysis between operating parameters and effluent quality on advanced wastewater treatment plant was performed. Through factor analysis four factors derived varimax rotation were selected each plant. Four components explained $80\%,\;82\%$ of the total variance of the process, respectively. The components on MLE plant were identified in the following order: 1) HRT increase and BOD load decrease by influent decrease, 2) Biomass, 3) SVI increase by internal return increase, 4) Microbial diversity by SRT increase. On $A_2O$ plant, we defined them as follows: factor 1, high MLSS by return rate increase, HRT increase by influent decrease; factor 2, biomass; factor 3, BOD of influent; factor 4 was relate to DO.

도심지역 인공호의 수질관리를 위한 지표세균에 관한 연구 (A Study on Indicator Bacteria for Water Quality Management of Urban Artificial Lakes)

  • Distribution of fecal pollution indicator bacteria and environmental parameter were investigated of urban artificial lakes. An average concentration of temperature, pH, SS, DO, $COD_{Mn}$, T-P, T-N, Turbidity, Chl-a were $21.5^{\circ}C$, 8.07, 116.70 mg/l, 8.66 mg/l, 2.24 mg/1, 0.52 mg/l, 1.71mg/l, 80.54 NTU, and 52.12 mg/l respectively. From the results of bivariate correlation analysis, fecal contamination indicator bacteria were found to be mutually correlated. And turbidity and suspended solid were correlated. From the results of principal component analysis, four factors were extracted. And four factors of variance explained up to 81.5 percentage. Factor 1 was pollution pattern by fecal contamination, factor 2 was physical pollution pattern by pollution source, factor 3 was natural pollution by precipitation, and factor 4 was artificial pollution pattern by organism.

액티브 시니어 골프참여자의 지각된 환경적요인과 주관적 건강 및 활동적 노화의 관계 (The Structural Relationship among Perceived Environmental Factor, Self-Rated Health and Active Aging for Active Senior Golf Participants)

  • 본 연구는 액티브 시니어 골프참여자를 대상으로 지각된 환경적요인과 주관적 건강 및 활동적 노화에는 어떠한 관계가 있는지 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 SPSS(Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 18.0과 AMOS(Analysis of Moment Structures) 18.0을 이용하여 빈도분석, 확인적 요인분석, 신뢰도분석과 상관관계분석을 실시하였고 모형을 설정한 뒤 구조방적식모형(Structural Equation Modeling)을 통하여 변인 간의 인과적 관계를 규명하였다. 이상과 같은 연구방법과 연구모형 검증을 기초로 하여 본 연구에서 도출된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지각된 환경적요인은 활동적 노화에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 활동적 노화는 주관적 건강에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 지각된 환경적요인은 주관적 건강에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 지각된 환경적요인과 주관적 건강의 관계에서 활동적 노화는 매개하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • A spring water quality was depend on the aquifer soil status. However, water quality was rapidly contaminated by artificial affects. In the contaminate components, the heavy metals were significantly important because the heavy metals influence the plants and the animals. But, it is difficult to find out how the heavy metal can affect in the water quality. According to the group analysis and the factor analysis, water quality management was advanced. The experimental area was divided into three region and six factor. The six factor could not define the overall water quality, however this method were one of the useful methods.

Supply Chain Network Design Considering Environmental Factor and Transportation Types

  • Most important thing when designing and implementing a supply chain network is to consider various problems which may occur in real world situation. In this paper, we propose a supply chain network considering two problems (environmental factor and transportation types) under real world situation. CO2 emission amount as environmental factor is considered since it is usually generated from production and transportation processes. Normal delivery, direct delivery and direct shipment as transportation types are also considered since many customers ask various transportation types for delivery or shipment of their products under on-line or off-line purchase environment. The proposed supply chain network considering environmental factor and transportation types is represented in a mathematical formulation and implemented using hybrid genetic algorithm (HGA) approach. In numerical experiments, several scales of supply chain networks are presented and implemented using HGA approach. The performance of the HGA approach is compared with those of some conventional approaches under various measures of performance. Finally, it is proved that the performance of the HGA approach is superior to those of the others.

뉴시니어 소비자의 로하스(LOHAS) 성향이 친환경 식자재 태도 및 구매에 미치는 영향 연구 (The Effect of the LOHAS Tendency on the Attitude and Purchase Intention for Environmental-Friendly Food Materials: From the Perspective of New Seniors)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the LOHAS tendency of new seniors' and its effects on the attitude and purchase intention for environmental-friendly food materials. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey from random sample of 162 senior customers in Seoul and Kyunggi area. The LOHAS tendency of new seniors can be divided into three factors; environmental-friendly, sustainability and sociality. Environmental problems affected the environmental-friendly factor the most while manufacturing techniques for sustainable products and recycling habits were key variables for the sustainability factor. The idea of companies sharing their value system of LOHAS tendency was the most significant for the sociality factor. Each of these LOHAS tendency factors influenced the purchase intention of the new seniors.

  • Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common, childhood-onset, neuropsychiatric disorder with an estimated prevalence of 2-7.6% in Korean children. Although the etiology of ADHD is not well understood, evidence from genetic factor and environmental factor studies suggests that ADHD results from a gene environmental interaction. In the current study, we reviewed the evidence for and clinical implications of the hypothetical roles of organophosphate pesticides, organochlorine pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls, phthalate, bisphenol, polyfluoroalkyl chemicals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, mercury, lead, arsenic, cadmium, manganese, tobacco, alcohol as harmful risk factors in the development of ADHD.

"쾌적" 이미지의 평가 및 인식구조에 관한 연구 (A study on Appreciation and Perceptive Structure of "Keijeok" (Amenity) image)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand an appreciation and a perceptive structure of "keijeok" image by Semantic Differential Technique and Factor Analysis. The data used in this study was obtained by the questionnaire survey carried out in Pusan metropolitan city. 15 adjective pairs in the survey were evaluated by the Semantic Differential scales graded 7 ranges from 1(very good) to 7(very bad). A total of 452 samples were collected by the survey and analyzed for this study. The results are as follows; First, 15 variables comprehended to "keijeok" image were estimated as a positive conception(LT 4.0). What's more, residents may perceive "keijeok" image as intangible and aesthetic aspect such as "fresh", "pleasant", "clean". Second, the result of factor analysis shows that factor I which express the major conceptual meaning of "keijeok" image tends to have intangible or aesthetic adjective pairs rather than concrete, whereas factor II which has the weaker meaning compared with factor I may represent a functional aspect of "keijeok" image. It can explain that the perceptive structure of "keijeok" image may be largely influenced by subjective sense, then added or concreted with objective conception or environmental situation. The results can be considered as an important matter which should be reflected at the stage of environmental planning for people's amiable and desirable place.

강진만 생태계의 환경요인 분석 (Analysis of Environmental Factor in Ecosystem of Gangjin Bay)

  • 강진만의 생태계의 변화를 조사하기 위해 1998년 2월부터 11월까지 계절별로 주요인 분석을 수행하였다. 이러한 목적을 위해 영양염류, 수온, 염분도, COD, DO, 종속영양세균, 균류 그리고 분변성 대장균 등의 항목들이 6개의 정점에서 조사되었다. 이들 항목을 상관분석과 주요인분석 등의 통계처리를 한 결과 강진만의 생태계는 계절에 따라 2∼4개의 요인에 의하여 영향을 받고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 그 중에서 특히 담수유입에 따른 영양염류, 부유물질, 염분도 및 수온의 변화 등이 강진만 생태계에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 그리고 다른 만에 비해 강진만에 미치는 환경요인의 영향은 비교적 적었던 것으로 판단되었다.
