  • This paper presents real-time Direct Current (DC) network analysis applications for operation of DC distribution system or DC microgrid. These applications are installed on central Energy Management System (EMS) and provide solutions of DC network operation. To analysis DC distribution network, this paper proposes composition and sequence of applications. Algorithm of applications is presented in this paper. Demonstration tests are performed on DC distribution site in Gochang Power Testing Center of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO). To verify the performance, developed DC applications installed on EMS. Scenarios for demonstration test of voltage control are presented. Finally, measured data, application output data and simulation data (by PSCAD/EMTDC) are compared and analyze accuracy of applications.

  • The Energy Management System (EMS) communicates with power plants and substations, monitors the substations and plant operational status of the transmission and substation system for stability, continuity, real-time, and economy of power supply, and controls power plants and substations. Currently, the power exchange EMS communicates with power plants and substations based on the serial communication-based Distributed Network Protocol (DNP) 3.0 protocol. However, problems such as the difficulty of supply and demand of serial communication equipment and the lack of installation space for serial ports and modems are raised due to the continuous increase in new facilities to perform communication, including renewable power generation facilities. Therefore, this paper presents a TCP/IP-based communication method instead of the existing serial communication method of the power exchange EMS, and presents a security risk analysis that may occur due to changes in the communication method and a countermeasure to the security risk.

  • The purposes of this study which was conducted by studying the literature on Emergency Medical Dispatch System are to provide some developmental policies of quality management, pre-arrival instructions, priority dispatch protocols, training program for the dispatchers(Emergency Medical Dispatchers or EMDs) in Korea and to promote understanding emergency medical dispatching. The conclusions from this summarized as follows; (1) It is confirmed that there has been little study on the Emergency Medical Dispatch System in Korea, because for the first time, the real Emergency Medical Services were introduced into Korea in 1994, and the importance of the Emergency Medical Dispatch System has not been realized. (2) Only some squads are using a set of dispatch protocols, others aren't. (3) In spite of trying to introduce a new set of dispatch protocols, it isn't the priority dispatch system using a complete set of dispatch protocols which has key questions, pre-arrival instructions, mode & configuration based on patient assessment. (4) The EMS is unable to promote the service capacity by using quality management, because there is no medical control on the emergency medical dispatching and the EMDs. (5) There are no medical directors in the communications center who are in charge of the medical control to detect problems derived from the EMS and to solve them. (6) There are no systematic training program for the EMDs who are taking charge of dispatching. (7) Having a deep relation to the elements of the EMS, the emergency medical dispatching is subject to restriction of those elements.

  • In the Paris Climate Agreement, Korea submitted an ambitious goal of reducing the greenhouse gas emission forecast (BAU) by 37% by 2030. And as one of the countermeasures, a smart grid, an intelligent power grid, was presented. In order to apply the smart grid, EMS(Energy Management System) needs to be installed and operated in various fields, and the supply is delayed due to the lack of awareness of users and the limitations of system ROI. Therefore, recently, various data analysis and control technologies have been proposed to increase the efficiency of the installed EMS. In this study, we present a measurement control algorithm that analyzes and predicts big data collected by IoT using a SARIMA model to check and operate energy consumption of public sports facilities.

  • This paper is concerned with the Performance and Reliability Certification for fire detection system in outdoor area such small and middle sized cultural assets, natural monument and outdoor facilities. Especially, if a fire were to occur in vulnerable area, it is difficulty to detect a fire. therefore we propose a high efficiency and low cost unmanned fire detection system in capable of an early detection regardless spontaneously fire or firebug. for Adoption of Intelligent Fire Detection System with movable and unmanned function breaking from the existing Conventional Fire Detection System, this Range of R&D includes the Performance test, Function test, Field test, Flame Detection test and EMI/EMS Compliance test. the Result data of Performance test, Function test and Field test is generally good during 3 months. also we checked that thermal variation test and EMI/EMS compliance test are good result data within allowable range. As a result of general test, we verified improvement results that the measure distance of fire detection extend 75 m, the Power of waiting time increase 4 hours, the Power of operation time increase 3 days and the context awareness with video as well as sensors.

  • In an EMS (Electromagnetic suspension)-type Maglev (Magnetically-levitated) vehicle, the flexibility of the bogie frame may affect the acceleration of the electromagnet that is input into the control system, which could lead to instability in some cases. For this reason, it is desirable to consider bogie frame flexibility in air gap simulations, for the optimization of bogie structure. The objective of this paper is to develop a flexible multibody dynamic model of 1/2 of an EMS-type Maglev vehicle that is under testing, and to compare the air gap responses obtained from the rigid and the flexible body model. The feedback control system and electromagnet models that are unique to the EMS-type maglev vehicle must be included in the model. With this model, dynamics simulations are carried out to predict the air gap responses from the two models, of the rigid and flexible model, and the air gaps are compared. Such a comparative study could be useful in the prediction of the air gap in the design stage, and in designing an air gap control system.

  • Recently, the cooling water of power plant was included in RPS(Renewable Portpolio Standard) as water heat energy. Thus the trend of cooling water application is growing bigger for agriculture and fishing industry. Especially as energy consumption cost in agriculture and fishing industry is a vital element, the interests for energy efficiency is growing bigger. The advanced agriculture country like Netherlands is distributing diagnosis software to the farmers based on ICT diagnostic system for the efficient energy consumption and energy demand amounts depend on crops of cultivation in automated horticulture. Hereafter, in the preparation of the expansion of the automated agriculture domestically by the cooling water of power plant, we would like to propose the energy application case(Greenery) in the advanced countries abroad in agriculture and EMS system about the application of the cooling water in power plant.

  • The purpose of Emergency Medical System(EMS) is what a patient returns to society with recovering mental tone in the shortest time as giving prompt and proper medical treatment to patient in emergency situation, and the Correctional Administration(CA) is purposed for the convict to return and settle down to society after release from prison in success as executing schooling, enlightenment activity, vocational training to convict who was quarantined from the society for the term of imprisonment. The EMS and CA will coincide each other which is reverting people to society in safety. This study aims to suggest the developmental program of EMS in correctional facilities through the cause of emergency situation, system, human resources, establishment, medical equipments, state of budget and the point issue for safety of victim who has many chances that is exposed to physical damage and disease because of particularity of lower culture in correctional facilities and the staff who works there. First, in the view of the correctional facility security system, a proper number of the emergency rescuers should be employed. Second, the effective transportation system along with some emergency medical equipment needs to be established. Third, the correctional officers and the prisoners should be learned the first-aid training which is realistic, practical and systematic. Fourth, the cooperative system should be established such as 1339 emergency medical information center in society. Fifth, the Ministry of Health and Welfare must increase EMS budget for correctional facilities.

  • A role of Distribution Automation System(DAS) is required to be changed from observing and control to complex and various new system including functions which monitoring, control, prediction, operation and management of EMS type according to be gradually Smart Grid of distribution operation system for development of further power system industrial. IEC(International Electrotechnical Commission) published communication standards which interface and data model of distribution operation system to IEC 61968 and of host system like EMS(Energy Management System) to IEC 61970. So far, each standards are emphasizing themselves, but if they are applied by designed integration of the standards, it could be more efficiency system. So, in this paper, integration application of IEC standards and structure of further distribution operation system to use them are proposed by gradually increasing importance of communication protocols, functions and roles in further distribution management system considering Smart Grid.
