전파반무향실의 특성평가에 관한 연구 - 수평편파를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Evaluation of Semi-Anechoic Chamber Characteristics -mainly on horizontal polarization-)

  • We are confronted with the serious EMI(electromagnetic interference) problems in company with the development of electronic equipments. Accordingly it is also required to construct some anechoic chambers for EMI measurement. Furthermore it is very important to evaluate the chamber characteristics in advance of its construction. For that purpose we have analyzed the characteristics by computer simulation in base on the image method, and compared the results with the measured ones. In case of 3-meter method as a result, the curved line of height pattern of open site varies similarly as that of height pattern of anechoic chamber. When we measure the electromagnetic strength and can get the height pattern curves by frequencies, we utilized it effectively because we can protect instrumental errors in measurement. On the other hand, there is a little difference in site attenuation above 700MHz. When the ferrite grid was used however, the calculated values agree well with the measured values up to 1000MHz with the exception of 30-40 MHz range. The reason is that we don't consider the antenna coupling in the low frequencies of 30-100MHz range.

Balance Winding Scheme to Reduce Common-Mode Noise in Flyback Transformers

  • The flyback topology is being widely used in power adapters. The coupling capacitance between primary and secondary windings of a flyback transformer is the main path for common-mode (CM) noise conduction. A Y-cap is usually used to effectively suppress EMI noise. However, this results in problems in space, cost, and the danger of safety leakage current. In this paper, the CM noise behaviors due to the electric field coupling of the transformer windings in a flyback adapter with synchronous rectification are analyzed. Then a scheme with balance winding is proposed to reduce the CM noise with a transformer winding design that eliminates the Y-cap. The planar transformer has advantages in terms of its low profile, good heat dissipation and good stray parameter consistency. Based on the proposed scheme, with the help of a full-wave simulation tool, the key parameter influences of the transformer PCB winding design on CM noise are further analyzed. Finally, a PCB transformer for an 18W adapter is designed and tested to verify the effectiveness of the balance winding scheme.

  • Recently, due to the onset of the information age, various high-priced, large-size machines have been invented such as intelligent building and high-tech computer operated facilities. Consequently, all kinds of electrical, electronic, and communication equipments and facilities have been found to be vulnerable even to small amounts of electrical shock. Interference between equipments and equipment malfunction occur because of various electromagnetic interferences. Galvanic action by direct current (D.C.) causes gas valve corrosion and other electrical problems such as static electricity and electromagnetic interference (EMI) occur as well. Most of the problems stated above occur because of problems in grounding.

  • At this study, one of the electrical problems, arc characteristics according to loss of contact between a pantograph and a catenary, was analyzed. A characteristic of arc current is disappeared in a short period of time. Nevertheless, it has large current same as a surge, so that it has EMI/EMC problems. In the case of the electrical railway system, there is oscillation and de-wiring. The are current is generated by these problems. The result of this study can be used as a facility design to prevent a surge and needs to prove through actual field data in the main circuit of an electric train for a precise analysis about effect of are.

  • In the near future, the voltage of power system for passenger vehicle will be changed to 42V from existing 14V./ Because of increasing power and voltage ratings used in the vehicle the motor drive system has high switching dv/dt and it generates electromagnetic interference (EMI) To solve these problems multi-level inverter system may be used The feature of multi-level inverter is the output voltage to be synthesized from several levels of voltage Because of this feature high switching dv/dt and EMI can be reduced in the multi-level inverter system But as the number of level is increased manufacturing cost is getting expensive and system size is getting large. Because of these disadvantages the application of multi-level inverter has been restricted only to high power drives. The method to reduce manufacturing cost and system size is to integrate circuit of multi-level inverter into a few chips But isolated power supply and signal isolation circuit using transformer or opto-coupler for drive circuit are obstacles to implement the integrated circuit (IC) In this paper a drive circuit of 4-level inverter suitable for integration to hybrid or one chip is proposed In the proposed drive circuit DC link voltage is used directly as the power source of each gate drive circuit NPN transistors and PNP transistors are used to isolate to transfer the control signals. So the proposed drive circuit needs no transformers and opto-couplers for electrical isolation of drive circuit and is constructed only using components to be implemented on a silicon wafer With th e proposed drive circuit 4- level inverter system will be possible to be implemented through integrated circuit technology Using the proposed drive circuit 4- level inverter system is constructed and the validity and characteristics of the proposed drive circuit are proved through the experiments.

  • Light dimming is based on adjusting the voltage which gets to the lamp. Light dimming has been possible for many decades by using adjustable power resistors and adjustable transformers. The power electronics have proceeded quietly since 1960. Between 1960-1970 thyristors and triacs came to market. Using those components it was quite easy to make small and inexpensive light dimmers which have goof efficiency. This type of electronic light dimmers became available after 1970 and are nowadays used in very many locations like homes, restaurants, conference rooms and in stage lighting. But the problem of thyristor dimmer have been that it has poor efficiency and voltage drop. Recently IGBT(Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) control is a new way to do light dimming for improving this problems. IGBT dimmer has many other advantages over traditional thyristor dimmer there are no huge current spikes and EMI caused by turn on Using IGBT it is possible to make the turn-off rate relatively slot to achieve quite operations in terms of EMI and acoustical or incandescent lamp filament noise. For the development of IGBT dimmer. This paper shows the effects of IGBT dimmer compared with thyristor dimmer through a simulation using EMTDC.

  • 전파통신의 급격한 발전에 따라 우리의 생활은 보다 편리하고 풍요로워졌다. 그러나 정밀 전기 전자 장치 및 제어 시스템 등이 경량화, 고속화, 소형화됨에 따라 외부의 EMI(전원장해)와 EFT(과도전압)에 의한 오동작, 인체에 미치는 영향 등의 많은 문제점을 야기 시키고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이에 대한 대책방법으로 10 MHz ~ 1.5 GHz에서 30 ~ 75 dB 이상의 노이즈 감쇠 특성과 IEC 61000-4-4의 level 4에서 4 kV의 과도전압을 인가시 600 V로 억제시키는 우수한 특성을 가진 대전력용 차단기 내의 EMC 필터를 설계 제작하였다.

Pulse-Width Modulation Strategy for Common Mode Voltage Elimination with Reduced Common Mode Voltage Spikes in Multilevel Inverters with Extension to Over-Modulation Mode

  • This paper presents a pulse-width modulation strategy to eliminate the common mode voltage (CMV) with reduced CMV spikes in multilevel inverters since a high CMV magnitude and its fast variations dv/dt result in bearing failure of motors, overvoltage at motor terminals, and electromagnetic interference (EMI). The proposed method only utilizes the zero CMV states in a space vector diagram and it is implemented by a carrier-based pulse-width modulation (CBPWM) method. This method is generalized for odd number levels of inverters including neutral-point-clamped (NPC) and cascaded H-bridge inverters. Then it is extended to the over-modulation mode. The over-modulation mode is implemented by using the two-limit trajectory principle to maintain linear control and to avoid look-up tables. Even though the CMV is eliminated, CMV spikes that can cause EMI and bearing current problems still exist due to the deadtime effect. As a result, the deadtime effect is analyzed. By taking the deadtime effect into consideration, the proposed method is capable of reducing CMV spikes. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

  • In this paper, electromagnetic topology (EMT) was used to analyze the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of RF circuits including passive and active components. It is difficult to obtain usable results for problems relating to electromagnetic coupling in complex systems when using conventional numerical or experimental methods. Thus it is necessary to find a new methodology for analyzing EMC problems in complicated electromagnetic environments. In order to consider the nonlinear characteristics of active components, a SPICE diode model was used. A power detector circuit and the receiver circuit of a radio control (RC) car were analyzed and experimented in order to verify the validity of this method.

  • In the conventional PWM converter, high-frequency switching techniques was used for high-density of energy, but occurred a lot of problems such as switching losses, switching voltage/current stresses, EMI(Electromgnetic Interference) and so on. To overcome these problems, various soft switching techniques have been presented. However these techniques are focused on reducing switching losses and voltage/current stresses . The simulation and experimental results are shown that the active clamp ZVS flyback converter with the proposed RPWM(Random Pulse Width Modulation) technique reduces the conducted noise.
