한국형 박동식 생명구조장치(T-PLS) 순환회로를 위한 최적화 모델 연구 (A Study of Optimal Model for the Circuit Configuration of Korean Pulsatile Extracorporeal Life Support System (T-PLS))

  • 배경: 체외순환장치 중 막형산화기를 사용하는 인공심폐기나 생명구조장치(Extra-corporeal Life Support System; ECLS)는 혈액이 통과하기 위해 막형산화기 전방에 구동점프가 요구된다. 국내에서 개발된 박동식 생명구조장치(T-PLS)의 경우는 막형산화기가 두 개의 혈액주머니 사이에 위치하여 액츄에이터가 번갈아 까내는 구조로 되어 있다 저자 등은, 만일 저항이 낮은 gravity-flow hollow fiber 막형산화기를 사용한다면 두 개의 혈액주머니와 박동점프를 막형산화기 후방에 설치하는 것이 가능하며, 이러한 구조는 같은 펌프박동 조건에서 2배의 맥박수를 보장하므로 펌프박출량이 증가될 것으로 가정하였다. 본 실험은 한국형 생명구조장치의 회로구성을 최적화하기 위해 계획되었으며, 기존의 막형산화기를 사용한 직렬회로구조와 gravity-flow hollow fiber 막형산화기를 이용한 병렬회로 구조를 박동에너지와 펌프박출량을 이용하여 비교하였다. 대상 및 방법: 실험은 $35\~45kg$의 돼지 12마리에서 심실세동혈 심정지 모델을 만들었으며, T-PLS 회로구성 형태에 따라 두 군으로 나누었다. 직렬군은 두 개의 혈액주머니 중간에 기존 막형산화기를 직렬로 설치하였으며, 병렬군은 gravity-flow hollow fiber막형산화기 후방에 이중구동점프를 병렬로 설치하였다. 펌프박출량은 대동맥 도관에서 직접 혈류를 측정하였고, 등가압력에너지(EEP)는 실시간으로 컴퓨터에 저장된 펌프박출곡선과 하행대동맥 혈압곡선에서 계산하였다. 각 지표는 점프속도 30, 40, 50 BPM에서 매번 측정하였다. 결과: 두 군 모두 박동에너지 측면에서 충분한 박동성을 보여주었다. 점프속도 30, 40, 50 BPM에서 EEP와 평균동맥압의 변화율은 병렬군의 경우 $13.0\pm.7\%,\;12.0\pm1.9\%,\;and\;7.6\pm0.9\%$였으며, 직렬군의 경우 $22.5\pm2.4\%,\;23.2\pm1.9\%,\;and\;21.8\pm1.4\%$였다. 점프박출량의 경우는 점프속도 40, 50 BPM에서 병렬군의 경우 $3.1\pm0.2\;and\;3.7\pm0.2L/min$였으며, 직렬군의 경우 $2.2\pm0.1\;and\;2.5\pm0.1\;L/min$였다(p<0.05). 결론: 혈류 저항이 낮은 gravity-flow 막형산화기를 사용하여 T-PLS 구동점프를 병렬회로로 배치할 경우 효과적인 박동성은 유지하면서, 기존의 막형산화기를 이용한 직렬회로 구조에 비해 점프박출량을 증가시켰다.

  • This paper discribes a study on the switching character of MOS-GTO and the design of gate drive circuit. Chopping power supply converter, synchronious and asyncronious motor speed adjustment, inverter, etc., needs low drive energy "high frequency" switches. To fulfill these need, switches must have rapid switching time and insulated gate control. MOS-GTO structure is well suited to these constraints. The power switch is serial installation of a GTO thyrister and a MOS Transistor. The gate of the GTO is linked to positive pole of the cascode structure via a MOS high voltage transistor and ground via a transient absorber diode. This high performance MOS-GTO assembly considerably increases the strength which facilitate the drive of GTO thyristers.

  • This paper discribes a study on the bridge type power converter for laser high power generator with high frequency and high voltage using MOS-GTO. This converter effectively makes the best of the high frequency HV transformer and input-side equivalent parasitic capacitance of high voltage feeding cable in place of DC output smoothing filter. The cicuit configuration and performance are discussed and design criteria are given. The prototype rated of 10 KW, 100 KHz is implemented and experimental results are given.

키토산의 효소분해물질이 흰쥐의 당 및 지방대사에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Chitosan Treated with Enzymatic Methods on Glucose and Lipid Metabolism in Rats)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effets of chitosan and beef tallow at different level on glucose and lipid metabolism in rats. Dietary fot level was 20% and 40%, and chitosan was given at levels of 0%, 3%, and 5%(wt/wt) of diet. Chitosan supplement tended to decrease the serum total lipids, total cholesterol, and triglycerides. HDL cholesterol and HDL cholesterol : total cholesterol ratio tended to increase with 5% chitosan supplementation. LDL cholesterol and VLDL triglyceride tended to decrease with chitosan supplementation. Lipid concentration of liver and epididymal fat pad(EEP) tended to decrease with medium dietary fat and chitosan treatment. fecal excretion of total lipid and triglyceride exhibited a tendency to increase with high fat levels and chitosan. Length of small intestine and gastrointestinal transit time were not affected by dietary fit levels or chitosan supplements. Therefore, it could be suggested that chitosan supplement had beneficial effects on lipid metabolism. (Korean J Nutrition 31(7) : 1112-1120, 1998)

Design of Unequal Error Protection for MIMO-OFDM Systems with Hierarchical Signal Constellations

  • In multimedia communication systems, efficient transmission system design should incorporate the use of matching unequal error protection (UEP), since source coders exhibit unequal bit error sensitivity. In this paper, we present UEP schemes which exploit differences in bit error protection levels in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems over frequency selective fading channels. We introduce an UEP scheme which improves the link performance with multiple transmit and receive antennas. Especially, we propose a new receiver structure based on two stage Maximum Likelihood detection (MLD) schemes which can approach the performance of a full search MLD receiver with much reduced computational complexity. In the performance analysis, we derive a generalized pairwise error probability expression for the proposed UEP schemes. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes achieve a significant performance gain over the conventional equal error protection (EEP) scheme.

장갑표적 감지센서용 94GHz 도파관 하모닉 전압조정발진기 설계 기법 (A Design Method of the 94GHz(W-Band) Waveguide Harmonic Voltage Controlled Oscillator for the Armor Sensor)

  • In this paper, we propose a design method of the millimeter-wave(W-Band) waveguide cavity harmonic voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) using a Gunn diode for the armor sensor. Using the 3-dimensional simulation tool(Ansoft $HFSS^{TM}$), we were able to find the impedance matching point between waveguide and Gunn diode and estimate the oscillation frequency. A varactor diode is used for the frequency tuning, and we find out the equation for the calculation of the tunable frequency range. The designed VCO shows good performances; 17dBm output power at 94GHz center frequency, 520MHz frequency tuning range similar to the estimated value(480MHz).

유도무기용 전파고도계 주파수변환기 및 Ku-대역 안테나 개발 (A Development of Radar Altimeter Frequency Converter and Ku-Band Antenna for a Missile)

  • A radar altimeter which measures the distance using radio wave developed by domestic technology has been applied to various missiles. It is used also for calculating the error of integrated navigation technique. There are a couple of methods to reduce the error but in this paper, we proposed to utilize existing C-band radar altimeter main body with frequency conversion. We designed and manufactured the frequency converter and Ku-band antenna to accomplish this goal. From the test results of products' function and performance, we could expect the possibility of applying this method to enhance the missiles' integrated performance.

BioPAC 모듈을 이용한 마우스 시각유발전위 측정 시스템 확립 (Measuring System of Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) in Mice using BioPAC Modules)

  • For the development of feasible retinal prosthesis, one of the important elements is acquiring proper judging tool if electrical stimulus leads to patient's visual perception. If evoked potential to electrical stimulus is recorded in primary visual (V1) cortex, it means that the stimulus effectively evokes visual perception. Therefore, in this study, we established VEP recording system on V1 cortex using BioPAC modules as the judging tool. And the measuring system was evaluated by recording VEP of mice. After anesthesia, normal mice (C57BL/6J strain; n = 6) were secured to stereotaxic apparatus (Harvard Apparatus, USA). For the recording of VEP, the stainless steel needle electrode (impedance: $2-5k{\Omega}$) was positioned on the surface of the cortex through the burr hole at 2.5 mm lateral and 4.6 mm caudal to bregma. DA 100C and EEG 100C BioPAC modules were used for the trigger signal and VEP recording, respectively. When left eye was blocked by black cover and right eye was stimulated by flash light using HMsERG (RetVet Corp, USA), VEP response at left V1 cortex was detected, but there was no response at right V1 cortex. Amplitudes and latencies of P2, N3 peaks of VEP recording varied according to the depths of the electrodes on V1 cortex. From the surface upto $600{\mu}m$ depth, amplitudes of P2 and N3 increased, while deeper than $600{\mu}m$, those amplitudes decreased. The deeper the insertion depth of the electrode, the latency of N1 peaks tends to be delayed. However, there was no statistically significant difference among the latencies of P2 and N3 peaks (P > 0.05, ANOVA). Our VEP recording data such as the insertion depth and the latency and amplitudes of peaks might be used as guidelines for electrically-evoked potential (EEP) recording experiment in near future.

프로폴리스의 단백질합성저해활성 및 항진균활성 (Translation Inhibition Activity and Antifungal Activity of Korean Propolis)

  • 본 실험은 Propolis ethanol 추출물과, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol 등 4가지 용매로 더 추출한 분획틀을 이용하여 DPPH radical 소거능 실험과 항진균활성을 알아보았고, 고체배지 및 액체배지에서 항진균활성을 측정하였다. 또한 luciferase mRNA를 이용한 in vitro translation으로 이들 추출물에 의한 단백질합성에의 영향을 검토하였다. 첫 번째로, 액체배지에서의 항진균 활성을 실험한 결과 Candida glabrata, Candida lusitaniae 그리고 Cryptococcos neoformans 등의 성장저해율이 chloroform 분획 존재하에서 각각 39%, 41%, 48% 이었으며 ethyl acetate 분획 존재하에서 각각 25%, 24%, 13%로 측정되었다. 이 결과는 ethyl acetate 분획에 비해 chloroform 분획에 진균 성장 저해물질이 가장 많이 존재함을 나타낸다. 두 번째로, 동일한 비율로 희석한 프로폴리스 분획물들과 합성 항산화제인 BHT의 수소공여능을 비교하였을 때 Ethanol 추출물의 수소공여능은 합성항산화제인 0.1% BHT의 수소공여능보다 높았으며, 분획들 중에서 chloroform 분획이 가장 수소공여능이 높았다. 세 번째로, luciferase mRNA를 이용한 in vitro, translation 실험에서는 Propoliis ethanol 추출물이 단백질합성을 저해하는 것으로 관찰되었다. Propolis 분획물들 중에서 chloroform 분획이 단백질 합성을 가장 많이 저해하였다. 이와 같은 결과는 chloroform 분획물이 다른 분획에 비해 수소공여능, 진균성장 저해율 및 단백질합성 저해활성이 가장 큰 것으로 보여지므로 이 분획물에 대한 생화학적인 연구가 요구된다.

포도의 섭취가 흰쥐의 노화 과정 중 지방 대사에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Grape Intakes on Lipid Metabolism of Rats during Aging)

  • This study was performed to see effects of whole grape, grape pomace or grape juice intakes on lipid metabolism during aging in old Sprague-Dawely male rats. One hundred twenty rats of 13 months old Sprague-Dawely were blocked into eight groups according to body weight and raised for 3, 5 or 7 months with diets containing 2% (w/w) dried powders of three different pars of grape and 0.02% (w/w) CdCl₂. Body weights of Cd groups were lower than Cd free groups. Kidney and spleen weights were incre ased with age, and EEP weights of Cd groups were lower than those of Cd free groups. Total lipid, triglyceride and total cholesterol concentration in plasma increased with age. Whole grape, grape pomace or grape juice intake lowered plasma total lipid triglyceride and total cholesterol concentrations, and especially grape pomace lowered them markedly. Whole grape, grape pomace or grape juice intake decreased liver total lipid, triglyceride and total cholesterol concentrations and increased fecal lipid excretion. Grape diets decreased and Cd administration increased TBARS concentration in LDL fraction. In conclusion, grape diets were effective in decreasing lipid levels of liver and plasma, TBARS in LDL, and in increasing HDL cholesterol. The grape pomace was most effective among three grape parts. It is plausible that grape might be recommended for the treatment or prevention of cardiovascular disease and delaying aging. (Korean J Nutrition 35 (7): 713∼728, 2002)
