In this paper, we classify ECG signal data for mobile devices using deep learning models. To classify abnormal heartbeats with high accuracy, three factors of the deep learning model are selected, and the classification accuracy is compared according to the changes in the conditions of the factors. We apply a CNN model that can self-extract features of ECG data and compare the performance of a total of 48 combinations by combining conditions of the depth of model, optimization method, and activation functions that compose the model. Deriving the combination of conditions with the highest accuracy, we obtained the highest classification accuracy of 97.88% when we applied 19 convolutional layers, an optimization method SGD, and an activation function Mish. In this experiment, we confirmed the suitability of feature extraction and abnormal beat detection of 1-channel ECG signals using CNN.
This paper proposes a method called linear prediction (a high performant technique in digital speech processing) for analyzing digital ECG signals. There are several significant properties indicating that ECG signals have an important feature in the residual error signal obtained after processing by Durbin's linear prediction algorithm. The ECG signal classification puts an emphasis on the residual error signal. For each ECG's QRS complex. the feature for recognition is obtained from a nonlinear transformation which transforms every residual error signal to set of three states pulse-cord train relative to the original ECG signal. The pulse-cord train has the advantage of easy implementation in digital hardware circuits to achive automated ECG diagnosis. The algorithm performs very well feature extraction in arrythmia detection. Using this method, our studies indicate that the PVC (premature ventricular contration) detection has a at least 90 percent sensityvity for arrythmia data.
The purpose of this thesis is the propose of various signal processing algorithm for the ECG(electrocardiogram) and the design of realtime automated ECG analyzer feasible with these algorithms. The algorithms are composed of (1)filtering procedure fer the estimation and removal of baseline drift, 60Hz power line interference, and muscle artifacts (2)detection procedure of QRS complex and P wave (3)typification procedure for the pattern classification according to the morphologies (4) selection of representative beat, significant point and wave boundary decision procedure and (5) parameter extraction and diagnosis procedure. All verifications are carried out between the algorithms proposed in this paper and other algorithms already proposed by many researchers, for the objective comparison in each procedure. The efficiency of proposed algorithms are demonstrated with the aid of internationally validated CSE database and the performances of filtering procedure are compared on artificial noise signal as well as actual ECG signals with appropriate noise components. for the comparison on the performance of designed automated ECG analyzer, the diagnosis results were compared with ECG analyzer manufactered by Fukuda denshi in Japan.
The health of the human heart is commonly measured using ECG (Electrocardiography) signals. To identify any anomaly in the human heart, the time-sequence of ECG signals is examined manually by a cardiologist or cardiac electrophysiologist. Lightweight anomaly detection on ECG signals in an embedded system is expected to be popular in the near future, because of the increasing number of heart disease symptoms. Some previous research uses deep learning networks such as LSTM and BiLSTM to detect anomaly signals without any handcrafted feature. Unfortunately, lightweight LSTMs show low precision and heavy LSTMs require heavy computing powers and volumes of labeled dataset for symptom classification. This paper proposes an ECG anomaly detection system based on two level BiLSTM for acceptable precision with lightweight networks, which is lightweight and usable at home. Also, this paper presents a new threshold technique which considers statistics of the current ECG pattern. This paper's proposed model with BiLSTM detects ECG signal anomaly in 0.467 ~ 1.0 F1 score, compared to 0.426 ~ 0.978 F1 score of the similar model with LSTM except one highly noisy dataset.
A personal authentication system based on biosignals has received increasing attention due to its relatively high security as compared to traditional authentication systems based on a key and password. Electrocardiography (ECG) measured from the chest or wrist is one of the widely used biosignals to develop a personal authentication system. In this study, we investigated the feasibility of using similar ECG measured behind the ears to develop a personal authentication system. To this end, similar ECGs were measured from thirty subjects using a pair of three electrodes attached behind each of the ears during resting state during which the standard Lead-I ECG was also simultaneously measured from both wrists as baseline ECG. The three ECG components, Q, R, and S, were extracted for each subject as classification features, and authentication accuracy was estimated using support vector machine (SVM) based on a 5×5-fold cross-validation. The mean authentication accuracies of Lead I-ECG and similar ECG were 90.41 ± 8.26% and 81.15 ± 7.54%, respectively. Considering a chance level of 3.33% (=1/30), the mean authentication performance of similar ECG could demonstrate the feasibility of using similar ECG measured behind the ears on the development of a personal authentication system.

This paper describes an algorithm that can efficiently analyze the ECG signal using frame knowledge representation technique. Input to the analysis process is a set of significant points which have been extracted from an original sampled signal(lead II) by the syntactic peak recognition algorithm. The hierarchical property of ECG signal is represented by hierarchical AND/OR graph. The semantic information and constraints of the ECG signal are desctibed by frame. As the control mechanism for labeling points, the search mechanism with the mixed paradigms of data-driven and model driven hypothesis formation, scoring function, hypothesis modification network and instance inheritance are used. We used the CSE database in order to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm.
This paper describes the design of a hardware system for ECG feature extraction based on pipeline processor consisting of three computers. ECG data is acquisited by 12 bit A/D converter with hardware QRS triggred detector. Four diagnostic parameters-heart, axis, and ST axis, and ST segment are used for the classification and the diagnosis of arrhythmia. The functions of the main CPU were distributed and processed with three microcomputers. Therefore the effective data process and the real time process using microcomputer can be obtained. The interconnection structure consisting of two common memory units is designed to decrease the delay time caused by data transfer between processors and designed by which the delay time can be taken 1% of one clock period.
