Construction of Virtual Environment for a Vehicle Simulator (자동차 시뮬레이터의 가상환경 구성에 대한 연구)

  • Vehicle driving simulators can provide engineers with benefits on the development and modification of vehicle models. One of the most important factors to realistic simulations is the fidelity given by a motion system and a real-time visual image generation system. Virtual reality technology has been widely used to achieve high fidelity. In this paper the virtual environment including a visual system like a head-mounted display is developed for a vehicle driving simulator system by employing the virtual reality technique. virtual vehicle and environment models are constructed using the object-oriented analysis and design approach. Accordint to the object model a three dimensional graphic model is developed with CAD tools such as Rhino and Pro/E. For the real-time image generation the optimized IRIS Performer 3D graphics library is embedded with the multi-thread methodology. Compared with the single loop apprach the proposed methodology yields an acceptable image generation speed 20 frames/sec for the simulator.

  • In this paper, we develope an ATM switch simulator in order to evaluate the HAN/B-ISDN ATM switch currently being developed by ETRI. It models the basic cell switching functions of the target ATM switch with priority control and multicasting features and it also supports such various traffic models as random or bursty traffic, balanced or unbalanced traffic, multicast traffic models. Using this simulator, we can evaluate the performances of the ATM switch in terms of various performance indices, i.e. cell delay, cell loss probability, etc., and this simulator can be utilized in the system parameter tunings such as the common buffer size and address buffer size.

  • This paper describes a down-scaled model for a high-speed railway train. The propulsion system of simulator consists of four line-side converters four induction motors driven by two inverters, an eddy current braking system, two dynamic braking systems. The control algorithm of traction and braking including anti-skid control can be developed using the simulator. Simulator design procedure. control algorithm and some experimental waveforms are presented in this paper.

  • In this paper, the implementation of a virtual Plant simulator for the PLC programming is presented. A virtual plant simulator that replaces function of transducers (e.g. pumps and valves) consists of a personal computer and a PLC(Programmable logic controller). Input/output conponents are edited on the monitor and are operated as the field transducers. The timing process for input/output components is analyzed. The data flow between a PLC system and a virtual plant simulator is carried out.

  • In this paper describe the block simulator that simulate generator's contoler such as governor, exciter and stabilizer. To use legacy tool such as PSS/E for user defined model is very difficult. The simulation tool such as Matlab/Simulink is easy to simulate user defined model but integrate simulation and power system network analysis is unavailable. As a result this paper show that block simulator for contoler model verify. It is include block simulator design, implementation and verify to Matlab/Simulink.

  • An integrated single-wafer processing tool, composed of multiple single wafer processing modules, transfer robots, and load locks, has complex routing sequences, and often has critical post-processing residency constraints. Scheduling of these tools is an intricate problem, and testing schedulers with actual tools requires too much time and cost. The Single Wafer Processor (SWP) simulator presented in this paper is to validate an on-line scheduler, and evaluate performance of integrated single-wafer processing tools before the scheduler is actually deployed into real systems. The data transfer between the scheduler and the simulator is carried out with TCP/IP communication using messages and files. The developed simulator consists of six modules, i.e., GUI (Graphic User Interface), emulators, execution system, module managers, analyzer, and 3D animator. The overall framework is built using Microsoft Visual C++, and the animator is embodied using OpenGL API (Application Programming Interface).

  • Fundamental research is conducted in order to develop measurement system for E-beam focus position compensation. In this paper, simulation results using Fresnel's formula shows effect of photoresist film thickness according to incident conditions. Also, electromagnetic simulator is developed based on Boundary Element method (BEM) and several results confirm the feasibility of the simulator.

  • 본 논문에서는 시뮬레이션 속도 향상을 위하여 VHDL(Very high speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language)로 기술된 디지털 회로 시뮬레이션을 위한 병렬 분산 VHDL 시뮬레이터(Parallel Distributed VHDL Simulator : PDVS)를 개발한다. 개발된 프로그램을 대규모 병렬 프로그래밍 환경에서도 수행될 수 있도록 하기 위해서 표준 통신 라이브러리인 MPI(Message Passing Interface)를 이용하여 구현된다. PDVS 의 전체적인 시스템구성도, PDVS 에 사용된 시뮬레이션 프로토콜, 전역가상시간 계산 메카니즘 및 논리적 프로세스의 내부 구성요소들간의 관계와 PDVS의 제어 흐름도를 제시한다. 그리고 본 연구에서는 병렬 분산 시뮬레이션의 병렬성 정도를 분석하기 위하여 디지털 회로의 크기 변화와 처리되는 사건수(grain size)의 변화에 따른 성능 결과를 제시한다. 이 연구에서 4배크기의 디지털 회로를 적용한 경우는 프로세서를 12개 사용할 때에 8배의 속도향상을 얻었다. 그리고 처리되는 사건의 수가 200인 경우는 프로세서를 32개 사용할 때에 12배의 속도향상을 얻었다. 또한 동일한 방법을 SGI Origin 2000, Cray T3e 및 IBM SP2에 적용함으로서 그 성능의 간접적인 비교결과도 제시한다.

A Design of Handling Quality Assessment Environment Based on FLIGHTLAB Model Using Legacy Simulator (레거시 시뮬레이터를 활용한 FLIGHTLAB 모델 기반의 조종성 평가 환경 설계 연구)

  • The handling quality simulator including high fidelity flight mechanics model is indispensable component to design and verify the flight control system. Korea Aerospace Industries, LTD. (KAI) has been performing LCH (Light Civil Helicopter) core technology development program regarding automatic flight control system (AFCS) software development. And KAI has been developing flight mechanics model using FLIGHTLAB to design and evaluate the AFCS flight control law. This paper presents the handling quality assessment environment development results through the combining FLIGHTLAB with a legacy simulator. And this paper details the FLIGHTLAB model, application development process and FLIGHTLAB interface design. The developed handling quality assessment environment has been demonstrated with the ADS-33E hover and pirouette MTE (Mission Task Element) maneuver simulation.

  • Position of surface objects can be fixed in many ways. The most popular radionavigational systems, including satellite systems, make possible obtaining nearly continuous and very precise ship's position. However, under the water application of radionavigational systems is impossible. Underwater navigation requires other tools and solutions then these encountered in surface and air navigation. In underwater environment vehicles and submarines, operate that have to possess alternative navigational systems. Underwater vehicles, in order to perform their tasks require accurate information about their own, current position. At present, they are equipped with inertial navigational systems (INS). Accuracy of INS is very high but in relatively short periods. Position error is directly proportional to time of working of the system. The basic feature of INS is its autonomy and passivity. This characteristic mainly decides that INS is broadly used on submarines and other underwater vehicles. However, due to previously mentioned shortcoming i.e. gradually increasing position error, periodical calibration of the system is necessary. The simplest calibration method is surface or nearly surface application of GPS system. Another solution, which does not require interruption of performed task and emergence on the surface, is application of comparative navigation technique. Information about surrounding environment of the ship, obtained e.g. by means sonic depth finder or board sonar, and comparing it with accessible pattern can be used in order to fix ship's position. The article presents a structure and a description of working of underwater vehicle navigation system simulator. The simulator works on the basis of comparative navigation methods which exploit in turn digital images of echograms and sonograms. The additional option of the simulator is ability to robust estimation of measurements. One can do it in order to increase accuracy of position fixed with comparative navigation methods application. The simulator can be a basis to build future underwater navigation system.
