  • A microstrip patch array designed at 35 GHz is described for use in the detection of the position of moving targets. To obtain wide detection range, the array is arranged to give a narrow beamwidth in the elevation plane and a wide beamwidth on the azimuth plane. This can be achieved by aligning the electric field plane of each element to the array axis. Employing a 3 dB-tapered feed network, the array has a side lobe level of less than -20 dB and wider azimuth beam width of 12.8$^{\circ}$ simultaneously.

  • In this paper, the dual-ground, high-gain and broad-band internal antenna has been designed and fabricated for 4th-generation mobile communication applications. The optimized antenna was fabricated using photolithography method. The antenna consist of the patches, antenna and system ground, and a probe. The patch and ground plane were separated by air. In order to prevent the demage due to radiator swaying, the foams(${\varepsilon}_r{\fallingdotseq}1.03$) were used to fix the patches and ground. The conductor for the radiators was 0.05 [mm] thick. The measured input return loss showed less than -10 [dB] at the broadband from 3499 to 4743 [MHz]. It's measured bandwidth was 1244 [MHz]. The radiation patterns measured at 3400, 3600, 3800, 4000 and 4200 [MHz] showed Omni-directional characteristics. The gain in the E-plane and H-plane was 4.7 ~ 6.1 and 2.1 ~ 4.3 [dBi], respectively.

  • This paper analyzed the circularly polarized conformal microstrip patch antennal using the unsplit anisotropic perfectly matched layer(UAPML) method. Also, this paper are treated effectively the edge and corner parts on the 3 dimensional UAPML. Especially, to analyze microstrip patch antennas with the coaxial feeder line, it was applied to mixed the UAPML with Mur's first order absorbing boundary condition. Therefore this paper suggest the new the method to mix the UAPML with Mur's first order absorbing boundary condition. The results show the time responses of electromagnetics $E_z$ and $H\chi'$, input impedances of coaxial cable and radiation patterns of strip parchs on the single and the array patchs with central frequencies 1.575 GHz, 1.778 GHz and 4.8 GHz in L-band and C-band for mobile communication. The results of this paper shows that its results was compared the Mur's first order abc and mixed the second order dispersion boundary condition(SDBC) with the Mur's first order absorbing boundary condition. In accordance with, the validity of the method is confirmed.

  • When analyzing the scatting problem of multi-layered planar structures using closed-form Green's function, one of the main difficulties is that the numerical integrations for the evaluation of diagonal matrix elements converge slowly and are not so stable. Accordingly, even when the integration fur the singularity of type $e^{-jkr}/{\gamma}$, corresponding to the source dipole itself, is performed using such a method, this difficulty persists in the integration corresponding to the finite number of complex images. In order to resolve this difficulty, a new technique based upon the Gaussian quadrature in polar coordinates for the evaluation of the two-dimensional generalized exponential integral is presented. Stability of the algorithm and convergence is discussed. Performance is demonstrated for the example of a microstrip patch antenna.

  • We propose a frequency selective surface(FSS) using double split ring resonators(DSRRs) for isolation enhancement between CDMA and RFID. The structure consists of an outer SRR and an inner SRR, and the gaps are formed in the same direction. By properly adjusting the gap and line width, the resonant frequency and skirt characteristics can be adjusted without varying the unit cell size. The proposed structure has a different field distribution from that of an ordinary SRR for magneto-dielectric materials. One layer consists of $9{\times}9$ unit cells and the other layer was separated by 50 mm. To validate the simulation results, we fabricated the patch antenna and the FSSs, and the measured results show a good agreement with the simulated ones. The electrical size of the unit cell is $0.110\;{\lambda}{\times}0.110\;{\lambda}{\times}0.002\;{\lambda}$, and the size of the two layer FSS is $1.058\;{\lambda}{\times}1.058\;{\lambda}{\times}0.153\;{\lambda}$. The two layer FSS maintain gain in CDMA frequency and has 6.9 dB reduced gain in RFID frequency.
