  • This paper describes the research in condenser cone of sealing-end for 154kV oil-filled underground cable. We conducted the design based on the results of electric field analysis by electrostatics theory and FEM. In case that condenser cone type EB-A was compared with bell mouth type EB-A, the results of the AC and lightening impulse voltage test showed improvment of 10 percents.

  • This paper proposed a method for controlling the active power of a single-phase grid-connected photovoltaic(PV) system by the quasi-Z-source inverter (QZSI). The MPPT of PV array is achieved by adjusting a shoot-through time of QZSI. The PI+R controller is used for reducing the steady-state error of the grid current. The simulation studies are carried out to verify the performances of proposed system.

  • In this paper, the active backlight control technology with data processing algorithm was developed in order to improve image quality for IPS-mode LCD-TV applications. The image blinking problem caused by repeatedly abrupt change of the backlight luminance was solved by algorithms-Fba(Flexible Boundary algorithm) and Cfa(Cumulative Feedback algorithm)-and the optimized number and space of backlight dimming steps based on perception. In the IPS-mode 42" TFT-LCD panel, the dynamic contrast ratio can be more than twice the typical level by means of lower block luminance and higher white luminance. Additionally, Power consumption and LCD temperature was decreased.

  • A neuromorphic hardware that mimics biological perceptions and has a path toward human-level artificial intelligence (AI) was developed. In contrast with software-based AI using a conventional Von Neumann computer architecture, neuromorphic hardware-based AI has a power-efficient operation with simultaneous memorization and calculation, which is the operation method of the human brain. For an ideal neuromorphic device similar to the human brain, many technical huddles should be overcome; for example, new materials and structures for the synapses and neurons, an ultra-high density integration process, and neuromorphic modeling should be developed, and a better biological understanding of learning, memory, and cognition of the brain should be achieved. In this paper, studies attempting to overcome the limitations of next-generation neuromorphic hardware technologies are reviewed.

  • 본 논문은 HVDC 시스템의 최대 송전능력을 다루었다. HVDC 시스템은 AC 시스템과 연결되는 부분에서 DC출력의 60%정도의 무효 전력을 소비한다. 그러므로 상대적으로 약한 AC 시스템에 연결될 경우에는 전압 안정도(Voltage Stability)문제를 유발할 수 있다. 이러한 전압 안정도가 HVDC의 최대 송전 전력을 결정하는 주된 요인이다.
