  • In the area of assembly process of micro-chips and electronic parts on the printed circuit board, surface mounting device(SMD) is used as a fundamental tool. Generally speaking, the motion of the SMD is based on the ball screw system operated by any type of actuators. The ball screw system is a mechanical transformer which converts the mechanical rotational motion to the translational one. Also, this system could be considered as an efficient motion device against mechanical backash and friction. Therefore a dynamic modeling and stste sensitivity analysis of the ball screw system in SMD have to be done in the initial design stage. In this paper, a simple mathematical dynamic model for this system and the sensitivity snalysis are mentioned. Especially, the bond graph approach is used for graphical modeling of the dynamic system before analysis stage. And the direct differentiation method is used for the state sensitivity analysis of the system. Finally, some trends for the state variables with respect to the design variables could be suggested for the better design based on the results on the results of dynamic and state sensitivity.

  • We develop jumping ring system with sensor and control system using dynamic neural networks. Jumping ring, sensor and control system are controlled by 586 PC using Turbo C program. Sensor system is composed of 20 optical sensors and encoder. The control circuits are consisted of thyristor, FET and phase controller. A/D converter and optical sensor acquire real time motion data of the jumping ring system. The information of acquired jumping ring Position is estimated by using dynamic neural networks. Estimated control signals are sent to control circuits and D/A converter to track desired position of the jumping ring system. Experiment results are given to verify that proposed dynamic controller is useful in real jumping ring system.

  • Seismic responses due to the dynamic coupling between a primary structure and secondary system connected to a structure are analyzed in this study. The seismic responses are compared based on dynamic coupling criteria and according to the error level in the natural frequency, with the recent criteria being reliant on the error level in the spectral displacement response. The acceleration responses and relative displacement responses of a primary structure and a secondary system for a coupled model and two different decoupled models of two degrees-of-freedom system are calculated by means of the time integration method. Errors in seismic responses of the uncoupled models are reduced with the recent criteria. As the natural frequency of the secondary system increases, error in the natural frequency decreases, but seismic responses of uncoupled models can be underestimated compared to that of coupled model. Results in this paper can help determine dynamic coupling and predict uncoupled models' response conservatism.

  • In the respect of the environmental protection viewpoint, $CO_2$ may be one of the most attractive alternative refrigerants for an automotive air-conditioning system. For the development of control algorithm of a $CO_2$ automotive air-conditioning system, characteristics of a $CO_2$ refrigerant should be considered. The high-side pressure of a $CO_2$ system should be controlled in order to improve the system efficiency. In this study, dynamic physical models of a $CO_2$ system were developed and dynamic behaviors of the system were predicted by using these models. Control algorithms of a $CO_2$ system were also developed and the effectiveness of these algorithm was verified by using dynamic models.

  • A practical method of identifying the inertial parameters, viscous friction and Coulomb friction of a robot is presented. The parameters in the dynamic equations of a robot are obtained from the measurements of the command voltage and the joint position of the robot. First, a dynamic model of the integrated motor and manipulator is derived. An off line parameter identification procedure is developed and applied to the University of Minnesota Direct Drive Robot. To evaluate the accuracy of the parameters the dynamic tracking of robot was tested. The trajectory errors were significantly reduced when the identified dynamic parameters were used.

  • As policy makers are often concerned about dynamic effects of demand behavior and its welfare analysis by quantity changes, the paper shows how dynamic price formation systems can be built up to analyze the effect of policy options to the markets dynamically. The paper develops dynamic model of price formation for fish from the intertemporal optimization of the consumer choice problem. While the resulting model has a similar form of the error correction types of dynamic price formation system, it provides the rational demand behavior contrary to the myopic behavior of error correction demand models. The paper also develops appropriate tools of dynamic welfare analysis in quantity space using only short-run demand estimates both theoretically and empirically as a first attempt in the literature of price formation and fisheries. The empirical results of Korean fish markets show that the dynamic model and the welfare measures are reasonably plausible. The methodology and theory of this research can be applied and extended to the commodity aggregation, dynamic demand estimation, and dynamic welfare effects of regulation in the similar framework. Thus, it is hoped that this will enhance its applications to the demand-side economics.

  • This paper proposes a new foundation model called "Dynamic foundation model" for the dynamic analysis of plates on foundation subjected to a moving oscillator. This model includes a linear elastic spring, shear layer, viscous damping and the special effects of mass density parameters of foundation during vibration. By using finite element method and the principle of dynamic balance, the governing equation of motion of the plate travelled by the oscillator is derived and solved by the Newmark's time integration procedure. The accuracy of the algorithm is verified by comparing the numerical results with the other numerical results in the literature. Also, the effects of mass and damping ratio of system components, stiffness of suspension system, velocity of moving oscillator, and dynamic foundation parameters on dynamic responses are investigated. A very important role of these factors will be shown in the dynamic behavior of the plate.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the static and dynamic stability-of the unmanned airship under development ; the target airship's over-all length of hull is 50m and the maximum diameter is 12.5m. For the analysis, the dynamic model of an airship was defined and both the nonlinear and linear dynamic equations of motion were derived. Two different configuration models (KA002Y and KA003Y) of the airship were used for the target model of the static stability analysis and the dynamic stability analysis. From the result of analyses, though the airship is unstable in static stability, dynamic characteristics of the airship can provide the stable dynamic stability. All of the results, airship models and dynamic flight equations will be an important basement and basic information for the next step of developing the automatic flight control system(AFCS) and the stability augmentation system(SAS) for the unmanned airship as well as for the stratospheric airship in the future.

  • This paper describes the dynamic modeling of a railway vehicle when it is under braking force. It is important for the enhancement of braking performance to establish a proper dynamic model of a railway vehicle because the braking performance is affected by some dynamic forces generated by a railway vehicle when it undergoes braking. In this paper, a dynamic model for one vehicle is suggested to compute the dynamic behavior of a railway vehicle in the HILS(Hardware In-the-loop Simulation) system for the railway vehicle braking devices. To simplify the dynamic model, friction between a wheel and a rail is assumed that there exist only the static and the dynamic friction forces. Static friction coefficient is also assumed to be a function of the running speed. Some simulations are carried out with various braking forces, and the braking characteristics according to the change of the braking force are discussed. This study can provide some fundamental results to construct the HILS system for braking devices of a railway vehicle.
