Design of Static Output Feedback Controllers for Rollover Prevention (차량 전복 방지를 위한 정적 출력 피드백 제어기 설계)

  • This paper presents static output feedback LQ and $H_{\infty}$ controllers for rollover prevention. Linear quadratic static output feedback controllers have been proposed for rollover prevention in such a way to minimize the lateral acceleration and the roll angle. Rollover prevention capability can be enhanced if $H_{\infty}$ controller is designed. To avoid full-state measurement for feedback requirement or sensitiveness of an observer to nonlinear model error, static output feedback is adopted. To design static output feedback controllers, Kosut's method is adopted because it is simple to calculate. Differential braking and active anti-roll bar are adopted as actuators that generate yaw and roll moments, respectively. The proposed method is shown to be effective in preventing rollover through the simulations on nonlinear multi-body dynamic simulation software, CarSim.

  • This paper suggests a dynamic balanced scorecard (DBSC) model employing the concept of system dynamics (SD), which could overcome the limitations inherent in the conventional balanced scorecard (BSC) and facilitate strategic learning process in organizations. The BSC has been a successful framework for measuring an organization's performance in various Perspectives through translating an organization's vision and strategy into an interrelated set of key performance indicators and specific actions. The BSC, while having significant strengths over traditional performance measurement methods, however, has its own limitations, due to its static nature, such as overlooking two-way causation between performance Indicators and neglecting the impact of delayed feedback flowing from the adoption of new strategies or policy changes. To overcome these limitations, we employs SD, a methodology for understanding complex systems where dynamic feedback among the interrelated system components significantly impact on the system outcomes. The SD simulation model in the form of DBSC we suggest in this paper would serve as a useful strategic learning tool for facilitating an organization's communication process through various scenario analyses as well as predicting the dynamic behavior pattern of their key performance measures over a future time frame. For the demonstration purpose, we apply the DBSC model to Korea Coal Corporation (KoCoal ) BSC case.

  • This paper presents an attempt to find the physical structure of dynamic systems which achieves the behavior of a given system function. The scheme pursued by the paper would be regarded as synthesizing dynamic systems, and a method to synthesize them analytically is proposed by means of bond graph prototypes. The method adopts several conceptsused to synthesize networks in the electrical field, but yet deconstrates its own strengths such as the freedom from assigning causality and determining junction types. Also, itis shown that this method has further advantages in reticulating a given specification into feedforward and feedback components relative to network synthesis and the method is examined though an example to trace the outline of the analytical synthesis of dynamic systems using bond graph prototypes.

  • In industrial production-distribution systems, production and purchasing rates, associated inventories, and sales are very critical for the profits of each component in the system. The objective of this study is to investigate an effective information control scheme for a production -distribution system by automatic feedback control techniques. In this work, a dynamic control scheme that has an integrated -error with state-feedback and filtering (ISFF) is proposed as a new algorithm for a dynamic controller. Generalized formulations of the dynamic control are proposed in the continuous-time and discrete-time cases. A methodology for an evaluation of ISFF controller gains using the eigen structure property is presented. When an upper-limit is imposed on the production capability by available factory space and capital equipment, supervisory control is provided to avoid integrator-windup and deterioration of system performance.

Dynamic Stabilization for a Nonlinear System with Uncontrollable Unstable Linearization (제어불가능 불안정 선형화를 가지는 비선형 시스템에 대한 다이나믹 안정화)

  • In this paper, we design a dynamic state feedback smooth stabilizer for a nonlinear system whose Jacobian linearization may have uncontrollable mode because its eigenvalues are on the right half-plane. After designing an augmented system, a dynamic exponent scaling and backstepping enable one to explicitly design a smooth stabilizer and a continuously differentiable Lyapunov function which is positive definite and proper. The convergence of the designed controller is proved by the new notion 'degree indicator'.

  • In this paper we consider the problem of global finite-time stabilization for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems which include uncertainties. The uncertainties are time-varying disturbances or parameters belong to a known compact set. The proposed design method is based on backstepping and dynamic exponent scaling using an augmented dynamics, from which, a dynamic smooth feedback controller is derived. The finite-time stability of the closed-loop system and boundedness of the controller are preyed by the finite-time Lyapunov stability theory and a new notion 'degree indicator'.

  • Adaptive output feedback control technique using Neural Networks(NN) is proposed for uncertain nonlinear Multi-Input Multi-Output(MIMO) systems. Modified Dynamic Inversion Model(MDIM) is introduced to decouple uncertain nonlinearities from inversion-based control input. MDIM consists of approximated dynamic inversion model and inversion model error. One NN is applied to compensate the MDIM of the system. The output of the NN augments the tracking controller which is based upon a filtered error approximation with online weight adaptation laws which are derived from Lyapunov's direct method to guarantee tracking performance and ultimate boundedness. Several numerical results are illustrated in the simulation of Van der Pol system and unmanned helicopter with model uncertainties.

3rd SDM with FDPA Technique to Improve the Input Range (입력 범위를 개선한 FDPA 방식의 3차 시그마-델타 변조기)

  • In this paper, $3^{rd}$ SDM with FDPA(Feedback Delay Pass Addition) technique to improve the input range is proposed. Conventional architecture with $3^{rd}$ transfer function is just made as adding a digital delay path in $2^{nd}$ SDM architecture. But the input range is very small because feedback path into the first integrator is increased. But, proposed architecture change feedback path into the first integrator to the second integrator, so input range could be improved about 9dB. The $3^{rd}$ SC SDM with only one operational amplifier was implemented using double-sampling technique. Simulation results for the proposed SDM designed in $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology with power supply voltage 1.8V, signal bandwidth 20KHz and audible sampling frequency 2.8224MHz show SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) of 83.8dB, the power consumption of $700{\mu}W$ and Dynamic Range of 82.8dB.

Novel Position Controller for PMSM Based on State Feedback and Load Torque Feed-Forward

  • In this paper, a novel position controller based on state feedback and feed-forward is proposed. Traditional position and speed controllers are replaced by a single controller with the position and speed as state feedbacks, and the position command and load torque as feed-forwards. The feedback and feed-forward gains are obtained by analytic modeling and design. The load torque, rotor speed and position are estimated by an observer based on a Kalman filter (KF) with a low resolution mechanical position sensor. Feed-forward compensation by an estimated load torque is used to improve the dynamic performance during load torque changes.
