  • This paper reports an experimental result on optimizing dissimilarity-based classification(DBC) by simultaneously using a dynamic time warping(DTW) and a multiple fusion strategy(MFS). DBC is a way of defining classifiers among classes; they are not based on the feature measurements of individual samples, but rather on a suitable dissimilarity measure among the samples. In DTW, the dissimilarity is measured in two steps: first, we adjust the object samples by finding the best warping path with a correlation coefficient-based DTW technique. We then compute the dissimilarity distance between the adjusted objects with conventional measures. In MFS, fusion strategies are repeatedly used in generating dissimilarity matrices as well as in designing classifiers: we first combine the dissimilarity matrices obtained with the DTW technique to a new matrix. After training some base classifiers in the new matrix, we again combine the results of the base classifiers. Our experimental results for well-known benchmark databases demonstrate that the proposed mechanism achieves further improved results in terms of classification accuracy compared with the previous approaches. From this consideration, the method could also be applied to other high-dimensional tasks, such as multimedia information retrieval.

  • Recently, many multimedia services have emerged in Internet such as real-time and non- real time services. However, in this Internet environment, we have some limitations to satisfy each service feature. To guarantee the service features in Measurement-Based Admission Control(MBAC) based system on the flow-aware network, there is the method applying Dynamic Priority Scheduling(DPS) algorithm that gives a higher priority to an earlier incoming flow in all of the link bandwidth. This paper classifies all flows under several groups according to flow characteristics on per-flow MBAC algorithm based system. In each flow group, DPS algorithm is applied. This paper proposes two methods that are a DPS based bandwidth borrowing method and a bandwidth dynamic allocation method. The former is that if low priority class has available bandwidths, the flow of high priority class borrows the bandwidth of low priority class when high priority flow has insufficient bandwidth to connect a flow call. The later is that the each group has a minimum bandwidth and is allocated the bandwidth dynamically according to the excess rate for available bandwidth. We compare and analyze the characteristics of the two proposed methods through the simulation experiments. As the results of the experiment, the proposed methods are more effective than existing DPS based method on the packet loss and delay characteristics. Consequently the proposed two methods are very useful in various multimedia network environments.

  • Angiography equipment is used to evaluate and treat coronary artery disease. As a common feature of equipment, radiation is used, and function development for dose reduction is being carried out by each company. Therefore, the difference depending on whether DCR installed in angiography equipment is used is analyzed from a radiological point of view to prove the effect. Among 431 patients who underwent coronary artery intervention from March 2021 to February 2023, 250 patients with retrospective data were selected. And than among the 250 subjects obtained, 91 patients used the cardiovascular roadmap function during single-vessel intervention, and 159 patients did not use the roadmap. When DCR was used, total dose area product (34.57 uGy/m2 : 69.15 uGy/m2), total air kerma dose (688.47 mGy : 1640.4 mGy), fluoroscopy dose (23.87 uGy/m2 : 49.91 uGy/m2) and fluoroscopy time (723.55 s : 366.03 s), total number of images (17 : 26) showed lower values and were statistically significant than those not used. The use of DCR function in single vessel coronary intervention is thought to be radiologically safer as single vessel coronary intervention using dynamic cardiovascular DCR showed lower perspective time and perspective dose than procedures performed without the DCR.

  • Objective: To develop a radiomics risk score based on dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI for prognosis prediction in patients with glioblastoma. Materials and Methods: One hundred and fifty patients (92 male [61.3%]; mean age ± standard deviation, 60.5 ± 13.5 years) with glioblastoma who underwent preoperative MRI were enrolled in the study. Six hundred and forty-two radiomic features were extracted from volume transfer constant (Ktrans), fractional volume of vascular plasma space (Vp), and fractional volume of extravascular extracellular space (Ve) maps of DCE MRI, wherein the regions of interest were based on both T1-weighted contrast-enhancing areas and non-enhancing T2 hyperintense areas. Using feature selection algorithms, salient radiomic features were selected from the 642 features. Next, a radiomics risk score was developed using a weighted combination of the selected features in the discovery set (n = 105); the risk score was validated in the validation set (n = 45) by investigating the difference in prognosis between the "radiomics risk score" groups. Finally, multivariable Cox regression analysis for progression-free survival was performed using the radiomics risk score and clinical variables as covariates. Results: 16 radiomic features obtained from non-enhancing T2 hyperintense areas were selected among the 642 features identified. The radiomics risk score was used to stratify high- and low-risk groups in both the discovery and validation sets (both p < 0.001 by the log-rank test). The radiomics risk score and presence of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutation showed independent associations with progression-free survival in opposite directions (hazard ratio, 3.56; p = 0.004 and hazard ratio, 0.34; p = 0.022, respectively). Conclusion: We developed and validated the "radiomics risk score" from the features of DCE MRI based on non-enhancing T2 hyperintense areas for risk stratification of patients with glioblastoma. It was associated with progression-free survival independently of IDH mutation status.

  • Purpose: We try to calculate EDW-factor easily with the formula applies essential data of EDW-factor and evaluate the validity through a measurement. Materials and Methods: We used the given value of GSTT (Golden Segmented Treatment Table) for the calculation of the EDW-factor. As to the experimental device, 0.6 cc farmer-type ion-chamber, an electrometer and water- phantom were used. A measurement was made at the maximum dose depth of the photon beam energy 6 MV and 15 MV under the condition that SSD (Source to Surface Distance) was 100 cm. The angle of the EDW (Enhanced Dynamic Wedge) which we use in an experiment was 60 degree, 30 degree, 20 degree in the Y1-OUT direction. We used Eclipse planning system (Varian, USA) as RTP system and the EDW-factor was calculated about all fields and EDW direction. In order to show the EDW-factor feature, a measurement was made at the selected field that verify the influence of the dependability about X, Y jaw and off-axis field. Results: When we change the Y1 field, it influence on the EDW-Factor and measured value. But the error between measured values and calculated values was less than 1%. The experimental result indicated the tendency that the error of the result of calculation and measured value becomes smaller as the EDW angle become smaller whether the calculation point (measurement point) and iso-center are same or not. The influence of the field size and energy did not show up. We simulated with the same condition using the RTP system. And we found that it makes no difference between the MU which is calculated manually by applying the EDW-Factor obtained from the commercial program and the value which is calculated by using RTP system. Conclusion: We excluded fitting value from well-known EDW-Factor formula and calculated EDW-factor with the formula applies essential data of EDW-factor only. As a result, there are no significant difference between the measured value and calculated value and it showed errors less than 1%. Also, we implemented the commercial program to calculate EDW-Factor conveniently without measure a factor on each field.

  • In this paper, a real-time dual-mode temporal synchronization and compensation method based on a new reliability measure in stereoscopic video is proposed. The goal of temporal alignment is to detect the temporal asynchrony and recover synchronization of the two video streams. The accuracy of the temporal synchronization algorithm depends on the 3DTV contents. In order to compensate the temporal synchronization error, it is necessary to judge whether the result of the temporal synchronization is reliable or not. Based on our recently developed temporal synchronization method[1], we define a new reliability measure for the result of the temporal synchronization method. Furthermore, we developed a dual-mode temporal synchronization method, which uses a usual texture matching method and the temporal spatiogram method[1]. The new reliability measure is based on two distinctive features, a dynamic feature for scene change and a matching distinction feature. Various experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method. The proposed algorithms are evaluated and verified through an experimental system implemented for 3DTV.

  • Most of the cyber attacks are caused by malicious codes. The damage caused by cyber attacks are gradually expanded to IoT and CPS, which is not limited to cyberspace but a serious threat to real life. Accordingly, various malicious code analysis techniques have been appeared. Dynamic analysis have been widely used to easily identify the resulting malicious behavior, but are struggling with an increase in Anti-VM malware that is not working in VM environment detection. On the other hand, static analysis has difficulties in analysis due to various packing techniques. In this paper, we proposed malware classification techniques regardless of known packers or unknown packers through the proposed model. To do this, we designed a model of supervised learning and unsupervised learning for the features that can be used in the PE structure, and conducted the results verification through 98,000 samples. It is expected that accurate analysis will be possible through customized analysis technology for each class.

  • In this paper, we propose a new technique of image based rendering(IBR) for the pose transformation of a face by using only a frontal face image and its mesh without a three-dimensional model. To substitute the 3D geometric model, first, we make up a standard mesh set of a certain person for several face sides ; front. left, right, half-left and half-right sides. For the given person, we compose only the frontal mesh of the frontal face image to be transformed. The other mesh is automatically generated based on the standard mesh set. And then, the frontal face image is geometrically transformed to give different view by using Invertible Meshwarp Algorithm, which is improved to tolerate the overlap or inversion of neighbor vertexes in the mesh. The same warping algorithm is used to generate the opening or closing effect of both eyes and a mouth. To evaluate the transformation performance, we capture dynamic images from 10 persons rotating their heads horizontally. And we measure the location error of 14 main features between the corresponding original and transformed facial images. That is, the average difference is calculated between the distances from the center of both eyes to each feature point for the corresponding original and transformed images. As a result, the average error in feature location is about 7.0% of the distance from the center of both eyes to the center of a mouth.

  • The Intermittent phenomena of the turbulent momentrm transports were closely examined in order to know the nature of intermittency and its fluid dynamic implications in the oceanic turbulent boundary layer. Also the connection between the observed intermittency and the bursting phenomenon was studied in detail. In this investigation, strong intermittency of turbulent momentum transports were found and the peak values of Reynolds stress (i,e., u'w') was about 408 times greater than average Reynolds stress (u',w') in the mid-layer and 270 times greater in the uppcrlayer of the turbulent boundary layer. These values are far greater than presently known maximum value, namely 30 times greater than the average Reynolds stress reported by Gordon (1974) and Heathersaw (1974). The distribution of Reynolds stress were extremely non-normal with the mean peak occurrence period of 5 minutes in the mid-layer and 1. 1 minutes in the upper layer of the turbulent boundary layer. Each teak lasted about 2 seconds in the mid-layer and 1.1 seconds in the upper layer of the turbulent boundary layer. Our dimensionless period of peak occurrence are found to be 33.3 in the mid-layer and 7.3 in the upper-layer, which are substantially larger than the often quoted values of 3.2-6.8 for the bursting period (Jackson, 1976). Some workers have interpreted that the intermittency phenomenon is the retlect of burst across their probe of the currentmeter (Gordon, 1974; Heathersaw, 1974). However, it was known that the burst can be found very near bottom boundary with smoothed bottom (i,e., friction Reynolds number$\leq$3,000) in the laboratory experiments. Through this investigation, it was found that the intermittent strength of the turbulent momentum transports does not conclusively indicate the characteristic feature of the boundary layer turbulence with a rough bottom (i,e., friction Reynolds number$\geq$10$\^$5/).

  • An autonomous virtual character can conduct itself like a human after recognizing and interpreting the virtual environment. Artificial vision is mainly used in the recognition of the environment for a virtual character. The present artificial vision that has been developed takes all the information at once from everything that comes into view. However, this can reduce the efficiency and reality of the system by saving too much information at once, and it also causes problems because the speed slows down in the dynamic environment of the game. Therefore, to construct a vision system similar to that of humans, a visual observation system which saves only the required information is needed. For that reason, this research focuses on the descriptive artificial intelligence engine which detects the most important information visually recognized by the character in the virtual world and saves it into the memory by degrees. In addition, a visual system is constructed in accordance with an image transaction theory to make it sense and recognize human feelings. This system finds the attention area of moving objects quickly and effectively through the experiment of the virtual environment with three dynamic dimensions. Also the experiment enhanced processing speed more than 1.6 times.
