This paper presents the kinematic and dynamic analysis of parallel manipulators with redundant joints, obtained by putting additional active joints to an existing parallel manipulator. We develop the kinematic and dynamic models of a parallel manipulator with redundant joints. The redundancy in serial chain, due to the increased number of joints per limb, is considered in the modeling. Based oh the derived models, we define the kinematic and dynamic manipulabilities of a parallel manipulator with redundant joints. The effect of the redundant joints on the performance of parallel manipulators is analyzed in terms of kinematic and dynamic manipulabilities.
This paper presents the kinematic and dynamic analysis of parallel manipulators with actuation redundancy, obtained by replacing the passive joints of an existing parallel manipulator with the active ones. We develop the kinematic and dynamic models of a parallel manipulator with actuation redundancy. The multiplicity in selecting the controllable active joints among the increased number of active joints is considered in the modeling. Based on the derived models, we define the kinematic and dynamic manipulabilities of a parallel manipulator with actuation redundancy. The effect of the actuation, redundancy on the performance of parallel manipulators is analyzed in terms of kinematic and dynamic manipulabilities.
Induction motors are known to cause voltage dip, oscillating torque and inrush current on the dynamic period. To compensate for these undesirable effects, the prediction of dynamic performances is required. The dynamic performances are determinated by circuit time constants. From this point of view, in this paper, the dynamic equivalent circuit included only three time-constant parameters are presented. To predict more simply dynamic performances, the new characteristics time constant parameters are analyzed, and now these parameters are described as the function of circuit time constants. This paper reviews and analyzes the use of series capacitance compensations, and the use of this analysis can make simply a prediction about oscillating conditions.
In the present work a finite element formulation using dynamic explicit time integration scheme is used for numerical analysis of auto-body panel stamping processes. The lumping scheme is employed for the diagonal mass matrix and linearizing dynamic formulation. A contact scheme is developed by combining the skew boundary condition and direct trial-and-error method. In this work, for economic analysis the faster punch velocity and the mass scaling method are introduced. To investigate the effects of punch velocity and mass scaling, the various values of punch velocity and the various mass scalings are used for numerical analysis. Computations are carried out for analysis of complicated auto-body panel stamping processes such as forming of an oil pan and a fuel tank.
The present paper deals with the first ply failure analysis of the laminated composite plates under various static and dynamic loading conditions. Static analysis has been carried out under patch load and triangular load. The dynamic failure analysis has been carried out under triangular pulse load. The formulation has been carried out using the finite element method and a computer code has been developed. The first order shear deformation theory has been applied in the present formulation. The displacement time history analysis of laminated composite plate has been carried out and the results are compared with those published in literature to validate the formulation. The first ply failure load for laminated composite plates with various lamination schemes under static and dynamic loading conditions has been calculated using various failure criteria. The failure index-time history analysis has also been carried out and presented in this paper.
In this study, a rigid multi-body dynamic model has been developed for mechatronic analysis to evaluate dynamic behavior of a machine tool. The development environment was the commercialized analysis tool, ADAMS, for rigid multi-body dynamic analysis. A simplified servo control logic was implemented in the tool using its functions in order to negate any external tool of control definition. The advantage of the internal implementation includes convenience of the analysis process by saving time and efforts. Application of this development to a machine tool helps to evaluate its dynamic behavior against feeding its component, to calculate the motor torque, and to optimize parameters of the control logic.
A Precise actuator in the pick-up of a DVDR/P(Digital Video Disk Recorder/Player) is required to control position accurately. Therefore, in order to develop a reliable actuator, dynamic characteristics of each part in an actuator should be examined closely. This paper presents systematic design process of an actuator using various analysis methods to confirm fundamental capability and solve performance problems related to dynamic characteristics of an actuator beforehand. Particularly, sensitivity analysis is presented through the program using mass moment of inertia and general equations of rigid body. Through the result of sensitivity analysis, important inferiority causes of actuator are selected and reduced. In the end, dynamic characteristics of manufactured actuators are improved considerably.
This paper suggests new analysis algorithm for tile dynamic response of three dimensional structure which is frequently found in pipe line system of plant by the combination of the transfer stiffness coefficient method(TSCM) and Newmark method. Presented analysis algorithm for dynamic response can improve the computational accuracy remarkably owing to advantages of tile TSCM in comparison of transfer matrix method(TMM). Analysis system was modeled as a lumped mass system in this mettled. The analysis algorithm for dynamic response was formulated for the three dimensional structure. The validity of the this method is demonstrated through the results of numerical experiment for simple computational model by the TSCM and TMM.
This paper evaluates the seismic response of three dimensional steel space buildings using the spread plastic hinge approach. A numerical study was carried out in which a sample steel space building was selected for pushover analysis and incremental nonlinear dynamic time history analysis. For the nonlinear analysis, three earthquake acceleration records were selected to ensure compatibility with the design spectrum defined in the Turkish Earthquake Code. The interstorey drift, capacity curve, maximum responses and dynamic pushover curves of the building were obtained. The analysis results were compared and good correlation was obtained between the idealized dynamic analyses envelopes with and static pushover curves for the selected building. As a result to more accurately account response of steel buildings, dynamic pushover envelopes can be obtained and compared with static pushover curve of the building.
Wave equation analysis programs (WEAP) such as GRLWEAP and TNOWave were primarily developed for pre-driving analysis. They can also be used for post-driving measurement applications with some refinements. In the case of pre-driving analysis, the programs are used for the purpose of selecting the right equipment for a given ground condition and controlling stresses during pile driving processes. Recently, the program is increasingly used for the post-driving measurement application, where an assessment based on a variety of input parameters such as hammer, driving system and dynamic behaviour of soil is carried out. The process of this type of analysis is quite simple and it is performed by matching accurately known parameters, such as from CAPWAP analysis, to the parameters used in GRLWEAP analysis. The parameters that are refined in the typical analysis are pile stresses, hammer energy, capacity, damping and quakes. Matching of these known quantities by adjusting hammer, cushion and soil parameters in the wave equation program results in blow counts or sets and stresses for other hammer energies and capacities and cushion configuration. The result of this analysis is output on a Bearing Graph that establishes a relationship between ultimate capacity and net set per blow. A further application of this refinement method can be applied to the assessment of dynamic formulae, which are extensively used in pile capacity calculation during pile driving process. In this paper, WEAP analysis is carried out to establish the relationship between the ultimate capacities and sets using the various parameters and using this relationship to recalibrate the dynamic formula. The results of this analysis presented show that some of the shortcoming of the dynamic formula can be overcome and the results can be improved by the introduction of a correction factor.
