SRM의 고효율 구동을 위한 PLL 제어방식 (Design of SRM according to Design Parameters)

  • Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) drive system is known to provide good torque characteristics and high efficiency drive. However, speed variation caused by higher torque ripple is one of main drawback. The Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) technique in conjunction with dynamic dwell angle control has good speed regulation characteristics. In this paper, appropriate advance angle control for high efficiency drive and PLL technique for accurate speed control is proposed. A TMS320F240 DSP is used to realize this drive system. Test results show that the system has good dynamic and precise speed control ability as well as high efficiency.

  • The switched reluctance motor (SRM) has a simple motor construction with no rotor windings. It also has simple concentrated windings on the stator windings. Thus it is expected to be a lower cost machine to manufacture than other motors. This paper has computed an optimal parameters asking for SRM drives using by PC-SRD that was programmed by T. J. E. Miller/M. Mcgilp. According to advanced angle and dwell angle, the output, efficiency, currents and torque were computed. The experiments with 8/6 SRM have tested.

  • The switched reluctance motor (SRM) would have torque ripple if not operated with an MMF waveform specified for switching angle and phase voltage. This paper describes the robustic control scheme that permits the phase torque to be flat by PLL(Phase Locked Loop) controller. In this control scheme, the locked phase signal of PLL controls the switching dwell angle and it's loop filter signal controls the switching voltage adaptively. Experimental results show that stable dynamic performance is obtained for torque and speed together with low torque ripple on the operation of variable loads.

Hybrid Excitation Control of SRM Drive for Reduction of Vibration and Acoustic Noise

  • The simple motor construction and low cost, fault tolerant power electronic drive has made the switched reluctance drive a strong contender for many applications. But the switched reluctance drive does exhibit higher levels of vibration and acoustic noise than that of most competing drives. The main source of vibration in the switched reluctance drive is generated by rapid change of radial magnetic force when phase current is extinguished during commutation action. In this paper, a hybrid excitation method is proposed to reduce vibration and acoustic noise of the switched reluctance drive. The hybrid excitation has 2-phase excitation by long dwell angle as well as conventional 1-phase excitation. The vibration and acoustic noise are reduced because the scheme reduces abrupt change of excitation level by distributed and balanced excitation.

  • One of factors that affect combustion in the cylinder of the engine is to keep a greater energy in the ignition system to minimize pollutant emissions and to increase its performance of the low temperature. This paper reviews theoretically the state and input variables of the ignition system from the state transition equation. Effects on characteristics of the system such as primary current, secondary available voltage and spark duration by reducing the pre-resistance from 3.5 to 0 ohm in 12V system is experimentally investigated when the ignition coil has a primary resistance of 1.5 ohms ad the dwell angle of the breaker point is 43.2 degrees (0.75 radian). Advantages and limitations for using the low resistance of the primary circuit are also presented to optimize the performance of the ignition system with the breaker point.

부스트 Negative Bias를 가지는 단상 SRM 컨버터 (Single Phase SRM Converter with Boost Negative Bias)

  • At the high speed operation, the boost negative bias can reduce the negative torque and increase the dwell angle, so the output power and efficiency can be improved. In this paper, a novel power converter for single phase SRM with boost negative bias is proposed. A simple passive capacitor circuit is added in the front-end, which consists of three diodes and one capacitor. Based on this passive capacitor network, the two capacitors can be connected in series and parallel in different condition. In proposed converter, the phase winding of SRM obtains general dc-link voltage in excitation mode and the double dc-link voltage in demagnetization mode. The operation modes of the proposed converter are analyzed in detail. Some computer simulation and experimental results are done to verify the performance of proposed converter.

  • In order to obtain better performance for a SRM(switched reluctance motor) drive, the commutation from one phase to another must be as fast as possible. In this paper a novel converter for SRM drive is proposed, which can accelerate the turn-off and turn-on time by using two capacitors to form a resonant circuit with the motor inductance. Two capacitors recover rapidly stored energy in the off going phase and establish rapidly the current rising in the on going phase. As a result, the current tail can be shortened and the dwell angle in the positive torque region can be extended. And comparing with the asymmetric converter, this converter has higher energy availability in energy conversion process and less number of switches.

  • A pulse with modulation(PWM) that keeps a constant angle of dwell and adjust duty ratio is a good method to control a speed of SRM. And a method of one pulse control is proper a operation on range of high speed in SRM for a good energy efficiency. Because PWM method is more safety than one pulse method, conversion of those is best choice according the speed range. So, some algorithm is need for smooth conversion of the mode of control. This paper presents a factor of conversion that proper the conversion of control mode between PWM and one pulse method This factor is from estimation of torque and proper at the variable range of conversion and show the better conversion characteristic than constant factor of conversion.
