  • Pediatric surgeons are familiar with the posterior sagittal approach to the rectum at sacrococcygeal area and well oriented with the anatomy because of the Penal procedure for imperforate anus. The author utilized the posterior vertical elliptical incisions in 12 cases of sacrococcygeal teratoma since 1987. For presacral tumor(type IV)$^2$, the incision was exactly same as the posterior sagittal procedure for imperforate anus. But the out-growing(type I) or dumbbell-shaped(type II & III) tumors, a vertical elliptical incision was required. For the laterally deviated tumors, a vertical and half-chevron incision was utilized in one case, but an unbalanced vertical elliptical incision was acceptable for the remaining two cases, with shrinkage of the overlying skin. In dumbbell-shaped tumors(type II & III), the narrow waist of the tumor was at the level of the levator muscle, which formed a muscle-belt on the tumor waist. A careful dissection to save the muscle-belt seemed to be the most important point during this procedure, utilizing the nerve-stimulator. After complete removal of the tumor and the coccyx, the levator muscles and the skin were closed in vertical fashion along the midline. For the caudally extending tumors in 3 cases, the muscle complex was divided in midline. Nothing by mouth and total parenteral nutrition was maintained for 1 week and then laxatives were given for 2 weeks in order to give the sphincters rest. Operative scars were acceptable resembling natural vertical midline folds, and the sphincter function was continent in all cases. In conclusion, vertical elliptical incision in sacrococcygeal teratoma is recommended because of the acceptable scar, functional restoration, and because it is a familiar procedure particularly for the pediatric surgeons who are accustomed performing posterior sagittal approach for imperforate anus.

  • The goal of this study is to realize the PBG lowpass filter using novel PBG structure modification both upper layer and ground layer. It has been designed three aperture slots of ground layer for PBG structure which the center slot shape of ground is two type, rectangular and dumbbell. This PBG LPF llas the character of the broader stopband and smaller size than typical LPF. The measurement results have matched the simulated ones. It has the cutoff frequency of each 4.4650Hz and 3.520Hz and at least -2OdB of the signal suppression at the stopband.

  • General, fast, and efficient stitching methods for the synthesis of dendrimers with linear PEG units at a core, as dendritic-linear-dendritic materials, were developed. The synthetic strategy involved the click reaction between an alkyne and an azide. The linear core building blocks, three dialkyne-PEG units, were chosen to serve as the alkyne functionalities for dendrimer growth via click reactions with the azide-dendrons. These three building blocks were employed together with the azide-functionalized Fr$\acute{e}$chet-type dendrons in a convergent strategy to synthesize the Fr$\acute{e}$chet-type dendrimers with different linear core units. Their structure of dendrimers was confirmed by $^1H$ and $^{13}C$ NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and GPC analysis.

  • In Concrete, shrinkages occur like plastic shrinkage and drying shrinkage in the early age because of evaporation and transfer of moisture. Within the country, the crack test standardized by KS is used to test the drying shrinkage of the concrete by using the restricted drying shrinkage of Dumbbell type mold, but this test is for the cracking-point and the restricted shrinkage stress. Thus it is difficult to valuate the crack quantitative test. In this study, it is intended to develop the Flat-ring type restrained test method for the shrinkage deformation movement of the concrete and to provide the quantitative data for evaluating the cracks in concrete. And it suggest the proper specimen diameter and quantitative test method about shrinkage crack properties on Flat-ring type restrained test method. And Verified the suitability.

  • A rare case of atlantoaxial rotatory subluxation occurred after pediatric cervical spine surgery performed to remove a dumbbell-shaped meningioma at the level of the C1/C2 vertebrae. This case is classified as a post-surgical atlantoaxial rotatory subluxation, but has a very rare morphology that has not previously been reported. Although there are several reports about post-surgical atlantoaxial rotatory subluxation, an important point of this case is that it might be directly related to the spinal cord surgery in C1/C2 level. On day 6 after surgery, the patient presented with the Cock Robin position, and a computed tomography scan revealed a normal type of atlantoaxial rotatory subluxation. Manual reduction was performed followed by external fixation with a neck collar. About 7 months after the first surgery, the subluxation became severe, irreducible, and assumed an atypical form where the anterior tubercle of C1 migrated to a cranial position, and the posterior tubercle of C1 and the occipital bone leaned in a caudal direction. The pathogenic process suggested deformity of the occipital condyle and bilateral C2 superior facets with atlantooccipital subluxation. A second operation for reduction and fixation was performed, and the subluxation was stabilized by posterior fixation. We encountered an unusual case of a refractory subluxation that was associated with an atypical deformity of the upper spine. The case was successfully managed by posterior fixation.

  • The tensile properties of short nylon6 fiber reinforced NR and SBR have been investigated as functions of fiber aspect ratio(AR), diameter ratio(DR), interphase condition, and fiber content. The tensile strength increased with increasing fiber AR(20 min.) and good interphase conditions. The short-fiber(DR=3 and AR=20 min.) reinforced SBR did not show the dilution effect for all interrhase conditions. And the short-fiber(DR=3 and AR=20min.) reinforced NR did not show the dilution effect except for the no-coating. The tensile moduli were significantly improved due to fiber AR. fiber content, and good interphase at same DR. The better interphase condition showed the higher pull-out force at same DR. Also, the stress analysis near the fiber end carried out using axisymmetric FEA to be convinced of the reinforcing mechanism. It is found that the fiber AR, interphase and DR have an important effect on tensile properties.

  • In this paper, we showed the characteristic of transmission line with DCS (Defected Ground Structure), which is etched on the metallic ground plane. And we extracted the equivalent element value of DGS section. Effects of a lumped element placed on DGS section were investigated by employing DGS of dumbbell shape and parallel resonator with DGS. Chip type resistor, inductor, and capacitor were chosen as lumped elements for experiments. Experimental results show that the Q-factor and resonant frequency of the proposed DGS section can be controlled directly by using the external lumped element.

  • Although the interest in NBR has been increasing due to the recent developments of the aerospace sector, there are few reports on HNBR's aeronautical oil, particularly evaluations of the accelerated life of harsh factors. In this study, the tensile strength was adopted as a performance evaluation factor to evaluate the accelerated life of HNBR used in the aviation field. The accelerated stress factor affecting the performance-aging characteristics was defined as temperature. The acceleration stress factor was determined to be temperature, and the result of measuring the tensile strength change over time. The sample for the acceleration condition was taken out of the oven for a certain period and left at room temperature for 24 hours. The dumbbell type 3 specimens were manufactured according to the standard specified in KS M 6518 and were measured the tensile strength, a factor in accelerated life evaluations. The activation energy was 0.895, and the shape parameter was 1.152 using the Arrhenius model. The characteristic life obtained from the tensile strength of the HNBR specimen immersed in aviation oil at 20℃ was 272,256 hours; the average life was 258,965 hours, and the B10 life was 38,624 hours.
