$CaMoO_4$ 결정 형태의 전개 (Morphology evolution of $CaMoO_4$ crystals)

  • 단순 침전법으로 타원, 땅콩, 아령, 바디가 있는 구형 모양의 $CaMoO_4$ 결정을 합성하였다. $Ca^{2+}$ 이온과 $MoO_4^{2-}$ 이온 농도가 증가함에 따라서 $CaMoO_4$의 형태는 차원형에서 땅콩 모양과 아령 모양을 거쳐서 마디가 있는 구형 모양으로 전개됨을 확인하였다. 이러한 $CaMoO_4$ 결정의 형태의 전개는 프랙탈 메커니즘에 기인한다. 타원형의 양 끝 부분에서부터 가지를 치면서 결정 성장이 시작된다. 1차와 2차 프랙탈 성장에 의해서 땅콩 모양과 아령 모양이 각각 형성되었다. 아령 모양에서 더 프랙탈 성장을 하여 최종적으로 마디가 있는 구형이 형성되었다.

  • In order to protect the turbine blade from working fluid of high temperature, many cooling techniques such as internal convection cooling, film cooling, impinging jet cooling and thermal barrier coating have been developed. With all other things, film-cooling has been widely used as the important alternative. In the present work, numerical analysis has been performed to investigate and to compare the film-cooling performance of various film-cooling hole schemes such as cylindrical, crescent, louver, and dumbbell holes. To analyze the turbulent flow and the film-cooling mechanism, three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes analysis has been performed with shear stress transport turbulence model. The validation of numerical results has been assessed in comparison with experimental data. The characteristics of fluid flow and the film-cooling performance for each shaped hole have been investigated and evaluated in terms of centerline, laterally averaged and spatially averaged film-cooling effectivenesses. Among the film cooling holes, the dumbbell shaped hole shows better film-cooling effectiveness than the other shaped holes. And the louver and cylindrical shaped hole show the worst film cooling performance, and concentrated flows on near the centerline only.

기울어진 선형편파 수신을 위한 차량용 도파관 슬롯 배열 안테나 (The Slotted Array In-motion Antenna for Receiving a Tilted Linear Polarization using a single layer film)

  • 본 논문에서는 차량용 위성 안테나에 적합한 평판형 도파관 안테나를 설계 제작 하였다. 제안된 안테나는 마이크로 스트립 패치 배열 안테나의 유전체 손실 및 급전 라인의 손실을 대체하고자 조립하기에 간단한 3층 구조의 급전 도파관을 이용하여 고이득의 안테나를 구현하였다. 또한 위성에서 송신한 선형 편파 신호가 전리층을 지나면서 'Faraday rotation' 현상으로 인해 송신 안테나와 수신 안테나사이에 스큐가 발생하고 이는 편파 손실을 야기시켜 신호의 세기가 감쇄되는데, 이를 제거하기 위해서 아령 모양의 선형 편파기를 제안하였다. 본 논문에서 제안된 $4{\times}16$ 배열 안테나를 제작한 결과 29.4dB의 이득을 얻었다.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the algorithm which can control muscle power assist robot especially for elderly. Recently, wearable robots for power assistance are developed by many researchers, and its application fields are also variable such as for medical or military equipment. However, there are many technical barriers to develop the wearable robot. This study suggest a control method improving performance of a wearable robot system by using a EMG signal of major muscles and a force sensor signal as command signal of system. The result of the robot Prototype efficiency experiment, the case of Maximum Isometric motion it suggest 100% power of muscle, the man need only 66% of MVIC(Maximum Voluntary Isometric Contraction) to lift 5kg dumbbell without robot assist. However the man needs only 52% of MVIC to lift 5kg dumbbell with robot assist. Therefore 20% muscle power increased with robot assist. Also, we designed light weight robot mechanism that extract the command signal verified and drive the wanted motions.

식물에 따른 공변세포의 형태적 특징과 개념화 (Morphological Characteristics and Conceptualization of Guard Cells in Differernt Plants)

  • The walls of guard cells have many specialized features. Guard cells are present in the leaves of bryophytes, ferns, and almost all vascular plants. However, they exhibit considerable morphological diversities. There are two types of guard cells: the first type is found in a few monocots, such as palms and corn, and the other is found in most dicots, many monocots, mosses, ferns, and gymnosperms. In corns, guard cells have a characteristic dumbbell shape with bulbous ends. Most dicot and monocot species have kidney-shaped guard cells that have an elliptical contour with a pore at its center. Although subsidiary cells are common in species with kidney-shaped stomata, they are almost always absent in most of the other plants. In this study, there were many different stomatal features that were associated with kidney-shaped guard cells, but not dumbbell shaped guard cells, which are present in most grasses, such as cereals. Each plant investigated exhibited different characteristic features and most of these plants had kidney-shaped guard cells. However, the guard cells of Chamaesyce supina Mold, were often more rectangular than kidney-shaped. In contrast, Sedum sarmentosum guard cells were of the sink ensiform type and in Trifolium repens, the guard cells exhibited a more rhombic shape. Therefore, kidney-shaped guard cells could be divided into a number of subtypes that need to be investigated further.

Primary Spinal Dumbbell-Shaped Mesenchymal Chondrosarcoma Located Intradurally and Extradurally

  • Mesenchymal chondrosarcomas are rare malignant tumors of the bone and soft tissue. Spinal mesenchymal chondrosarcomas are even rarer and, to the best of our knowledge those that are concomitantly located in the intradural and extradural regions, have never been reported. We report a case of a 25-year-old man with back pain and bilateral progressive weakness of the lower extremities. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a markedly enhanced dumbbell-shaped mass at the T7 level. The lesion was intradurally located at the left side of the spinal cord, and extended extradurally to the extraforminal space through the T7-8 intervertebral foramen. The tumor was completely excised through a posterior approach. Microscopic examination and immunohistochemical studies confirmed mesenchymal chondrosarcoma. Postoperative radiation therapy and chemotherapy were also performed to prevent local recurrence and metastasis. The patient has been symptom-free for two years after surgery. Herein, we reviewed and discussed the clinical characteristics, treatments, and outcomes of primary intraspinal mesenchymal chondrosarcomas in the literature.

T자형 슬롯을 갖는 CPW 방향성 결합기 (CPW Directional Couplers with T-Shaped Slots)

  • 본 논문에서는 뒷면도체를 부동도체로 갖는 CPW 방향성 결합기에서 방향성 향상을 위한 뒷면도체의 변형에 관하여 논하였다. 이때 뒷면도체는 dumbbell 모양의 일반화된 구조와 그 변형구조로 가운데 부분이 완전히 제거된 경우도 가지며, 결합도의 감소를 막기 위한 보완구조로 접지면에서 T자형으로 확장된 슬롯을 함께 사용하였다. T자형 슬롯을 갖고 뒷면도체의 변형을 통한 방향성의 개선방법은 결합도의 큰 감소 없이 방향성 개선을 이룰 수 있다. 1 GHz에서 설계된 T자형 슬롯과 뒷면도체를 갖는 CPW 방향성 결합기는 full-wave analysis를 사용한 EM solver의 계산 결과 및 측정 결과를 통하여 큰 결합특성의 감소 없이 높은 방향성 특성을 가짐을 확인하였다.

최대 근력과 관련하여 EMG 상관관계에 관한 기초 연구 (A Basic Correlational Study of the Relationship between Maximum Muscle Power and EMG)

  • In this paper, a study was conducted to estimate the maximum muscle strength which is a standard for selecting exercise intensity in weight training. We designed a device that estimates the muscle fatigue from the EMG signal, expecting to show a correlation between peak muscle strength and fatigue. Curl - Dumbbell was performed using a 4 kg dumbbell and the frequency change of the EMG was observed. At this time, the designed device acquires the signal using the MCU and finally Matlab was used to confirm the change in the center frequency value. The results of 10 subjects were analyzed using SPSS regression analysis. The statistical results showed a correlation of $R^2$ 0.583 and Significant probability of 0.010, and the relation of Y = 8.144-2.097 (slope (MDF)) was obtained. In conclusion, if the wearable device is manufactured in the form of a wearable device and the user can recommend the exercise intensity, the system will be able to retry the more efficient exercise.
