From the beginning of 1990s, the leading countries, especially United States, are trying to develop dual-use technology which can be used for both military and commercial purpose, and to improve the efficiency of management system in logistics and procurements. Considering the global trends, Department of Defence has been seeking for solutions as to how to reform military specifications, and launched specification unification projects. As a result of the project, a series of dual-use standards for hardwares are being developed in the form of Korea Industrial Standards(KS standards). However, there are many of foreign standards, which are not readily interpretable by users, referenced in the standards. In this study, needs for the conversion of referenced foreign standards to KS standards are reviewed and the appropriate approaches as to the conversion are suggested.

In this study, I analyzed dual-career commuting couples time use. Concretely, this study compared the husband with the wife on the becoming a commuter family, the living apart on weekdays. And it examined time use on weekdays and weekends by the time amount of each activities and the ratio of actor on each hour. The survey participants included 131 married people who were dual-career commuting couple and who were maintained separate residence and work place. The major findings are as follows: First, weekday separation of the dual-career commuting couples is largely due to career. This kind separation is mostly due to sociostructural labor market factor and individual factor to increasing working women. Second, 94.6%(53) of male participants were resident living apart from their family on weekdays. Third, the most wives mentioned some kind of emotional liberation such as freedom on weekdays. Finally, there was gender difference in the time spent on each activities when dual-career commuting couples are living together and they are apart. Especially the most gender difference on weekdays is household work time and leisure time.

Purpose: This study was conducted to find out the association between dual-use of the electronic cigarette (EC) and conventional cigarette (CC) and depression among undergraduate students. Methods: The participants of this study were 225 undergraduate students who were attending two universities located in Ulsan metropolitan city. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression were conducted to analyze the data. Results: Nicotine dependence and depression were significantly higher in the dual-use group than in the single-use group. Dual-use of the EC and CC was significantly associated with depression among undergraduate students. In addition, quality of sleep was significantly associated with depression among undergraduate students. Conclusion: In order to prevent depression among undergraduate students, it is necessary to improve the awareness of the danger of dual use of the EC and CC.

This study focused on the time use of a dual-earner working group with preschool children on working and nonworking days using 2014 time-use survey data provided by Statistics Korea(KOSTAT). We collected the time-use data recorded in a 2,158 time diary. We divided the time use into 4 parts ; paid work, household labor work (including caring work), leisure and living essentials. For the statistical analysis, we used SPSS 18.0 packages, i.e., descriptive statistics, T-test, Anova with Duncan test and regression for the impact off the independent factors. The results verified gender differences in time use and recognized the usefulness of the time-allocation analysis for the diagnosis of Work and Life Balance(WLB). In the conclusion, we suggest increasing men's time allocation for household labor as a crucial solution to the WLB of dual-earner working groups. And the follow-up study should include the various factors that affect the time allocation of dual-earner groups, such as type of labor and job and children's ages.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to verify the degree of smoking behaviors including conventional cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, and dual use of conventional and electronic cigarettes among adolescents, and to explore associated intrapersonal and interpersonal factors of the three smoking behavior groups. Methods: The secondary data analysis was performed using the 17th 2021 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey. The types of smoking behaviors were grouped into conventional cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, and dual use for data analysis. Descriptive statistics and a χ² test were performed. Multinomial logistic regression analysis was conducted to identify factors associated with of the three smoking behavior groups. Results: Among the 54,848 adolescents, 3.6%, 1.2% and 6.2% were involved in conventional cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, and the dual use, respectively. The factors associated with the three types of smoking behaviors were depression, suicidal ideation, having a smoking mother, having smoking brothers or sisters, and having smoking friends. Recovery from fatigue by sleep was associated with the dual use of conventional and electronic cigarettes. Anxiety was associated with conventional cigarettes. Having a smoking father was associated with conventional cigarettes and dual use. Conclusion: A significant number of adolescents were involved in not only the use of conventional or electronic cigarettes, but also dual use of them. Adolescents who had depression, suicidal ideation, having a smoking friend, and having a smoking family member were more likely to be involved in the three types of smoking behaviors. Customized interventions to decrease smoking should be developed considering intrapersonal factors as well as interpersonal factors.

This paper proposes a form and use of exponential of a matrix over dual quaternions. Due to the property of the product for dual quaternions, we give the way of computing the exponential of a matrix with the exponential map from their Lie algebras into the dual quaternionic matrices and a form of an eigenvalue of the dual quaternionic exponential of a matrix.

This study analyzed the time use of dual income paid workers. The data was selected from the '2009 Korean Time Use Survey' by the Korean National Statistical Office. There were 2799 respondents who were paid workers with dual income. There were big differences in time use between men and women. The result showed that men's time allocation focused on 'labor and leisure' and women's time allocation focused on ‘labor and housework'. This means the women among dual income paid workers faced difficulties in dual burden of work-family balance. Regression analysis on time use dividing men and women showed that age, education, income, working type and the presence of preschool children had significant effects on time allocation. We found the income effects on time use which reduced paid working time and increased housework and leisure time. Significantly, younger men who have preschool children spend more time in housework. We could find the possibility of a change in men's time allocation.

Purpose: This study aimed to understand the relationship between cigarette and electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) use and sleep health among Korean adolescents. Methods: Using the 14th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey, we included 52,928 adolescents who responded to sleep satisfaction and sleep duration. Participants were classified into four groups: non-users, cigarette-only users, e-cigarette-only users, and dual users of both products. To examine the associations between cigarette and e-cigarette use and sleep health, data were analyzed using complex samples cross tabulation and complex samples logistic regression. Results: Of the four groups, dual users reported the lowest level of sleep satisfaction and sleep duration; 57.0% and 86.9% of dual users were not satisfied with their sleep and have insufficient sleep duration, respectively. The proportion of students who were not satisfied with their sleep was higher among cigarette-only users compared to e-cigarette-only users (52.7% vs. 45.8%), but the two groups reported similar rates of insufficient sleep duration (84.2% vs. 84.3%). Compared to non-users, cigarette-only users, e-cigarette-only users, and dual users were more likely to not be satisfied with sleep (odds ratios [ORs] were 1.49, 1.36, and 1.75, respectively) and had significantly higher odds of experiencing insufficient sleep duration (ORs were 1.85, 2.06, and 2.34, respectively). Conclusion: E-cigarette-only use and dual use as well as cigarette-only use were associated with poor sleep health. Therefore, to improve adolescent sleep health, health professionals should provide sleep intervention strategies considering the association between smoking and sleep health.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that affect the smoking type among those who have used regular cigarettes, liquid or cigarette-type e-cigarettes. Methods: The subjects of analysis were 6,081 people who had smoked regular cigarettes or e-cigarettes. For data analysis, SPSS ver.25.0 statistical package program was used. Multinomial logistic regression analysis was performed to find out the factors affecting smoking type. Results: Factors affecting the experience of using e-cigarettes compared to regular cigarette smoking are gender and class. Academic performance, living with family members, drinking experience, and secondhand smoke in school. The factors influencing dual use compared to regular cigarette smoking were gender, class, academic performance, economic status, living with family, drinking experience, and experience of secondhand smoke in school. Smoking cessation attempts had an effect on dual use compared to regular cigarette smoking. Conclusion: Smoking cessation experience had a greater effect on e-cigarette use than regular cigarette smoking.

Required system and technology for the civil helicopter and the military helicopter are almost similar. A lot of mount helicopters are converted from military to civil, or converted oppositely, or new developed considering civil-military dual use in order to reduce development cost and period. In the case of converting the military to the civil, the military helicopters are developed based on sufficient requiring amount following conversion to the civil helicopters with minor modification. This paper presents the investigation and the analysis for the case and the approach of dual use helicopter development from military helicopters to civil helicopters.
