Objective: The Yip1 domain family (YIPF) proteins were proposed to function in endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to Golgi transport and maintenance of the morphology of the Golgi, which were homologues of yeast Yip1p and Yif1p. YIPF3, the member 3 of YIPF family was a homolog of Yif1p. The aim of present study was to investigate the expression and regulation mechanism of porcine YIPF3. Methods: Quantitative realtime polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) was used to analyze porcine YIPF3 mRNA expression pattern in different tissues and pig kidney epithelial (PK15) cells stimulated by polyinosine-polycytidylic acid (poly [I:C]). Site-directed mutations combined with dual luciferase reporter assays and electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) were employed to reveal transcription regulation mechanism of porcine YIPF3. Results: Results showed that the mRNA of porcine YIPF3 (pYIPF3) was widely expressed with the highest levels in lymph and lung followed by spleen and liver, while weak in heart and skeletal muscle. Subcellular localization results indicated that it expressed in Golgi apparatus and plasma membranes. Upon stimulation with poly (I:C), the level of this gene was dramatically up-regulated in a time- and concentration-dependent manner. pYIPF3 core promoter region harbored three cis-acting elements which were bound by ETS proto-oncogene 2 (ETS2), zinc finger and BTB domain containing 4 (ZBTB4), and zinc finger and BTB domain containing 14 (ZBTB14), respectively. In which, ETS2 and ZBTB4 both promoted pYIPF3 transcription activity while ZBTB14 inhibited it, and these three transcription factors all played important regulation roles in tumorigenesis and apoptosis. Conclusion: The pYIPF3 mRNA expression was regulated by ETS2, ZBTB4, and ZBTB14, and its higher expression in immune organs might contribute to enhancing ER to Golgi transport of proteins, thus adapting to the immune response.
This study aims at investigating the possible effects on the tax accounting practices stemming from adopting the IFRS in financial reporting process. It also seeks for policy implications to help alleviate practical conflicts likely to arise from the inconsistencies between the existing tax law and the tax related IFRS provisions. The results of the survey analysis are summarized as follows: firstly, majority opinion is opposed to the fair value based revaluation of property assets as well as the application of immediate recognition of foreign currency translation gains/losses. It favors the existing provision on asset securitization which adopts sales transaction view. Secondly, most of the respondents oppose the proposed amendments which allows dual classification of lease contracts on the ground. Third, functional currency appears acceptable on a conceptual level, even though a deep concern is expressed regarding the practical feasibility of computing taxable income using financial statements translated on the basis of functional currency on a practical viewpoint. Fourth, many respondents support the existing convention of recognizing depreciation expenses for taxation purposes and are in favor of the separation of accounting and tax books on a long-term basis. Fifth, the majority opinion approves the maintenance of existing tax reconciliation system and the recognition of expenses related with the doubtful accounts on reporting basis. Finally, a concern is raised with regard to the added burden of practical job loads needed to comply with the proposed amendments.
Bones are important parts in sustaining the shape of the body, but they are also metabolic organs which undergo bone remodeling by constant bone resorption and formation. Osteoporosis, the typical metabolic bone disease, is characterized by a reduction in bone mineral density (BMD). Women more than men are at risk fir osteoporosis-related fractures, especially in the lumbar spine, wrist, and hip region. Risk of fracture depends on one's BMD, which open determined by the peak bone mass value achieved at skeletal maturity and followed by subsequent age-and menopause-related bone loss. Genetic and environmental factors are known to play a key role in bone metabolism and diet is considered as one of the important environmental factors. The purpose of the present study was to assess the status of BMD and bone mineral content(BMC) to clarify the relationships between dietary intakes and the risk of osteoporosis in adult women in Taegu. Subjects were 130 healthy females in between 20 and 69 years of age. BMD and BMC of the lumbar spine(venebrae L2-4) of the subjects were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. The average age of the subjects was 47.4${\pm}$11.7 years old, the average weight was 57.2${\pm}$8.4kg, the average age of menarche was 16.6${\pm}$1.9 years old and the average age of menopause was 48.4${\pm}$5.3 years old. The nutrient intakes of the subjects measured by the convenient method were generally lower than the level of RDA. The result of nutrient intake assessed has shown that the average energy intake was 1701${\pm}$316kca1 which is 85.1% of the RDA and the average calcium intake was 485.4${\pm}$172.3mg which is 69.3% of the RDA. The intakes of protein, vitamin A, vitamin B$_1$, niacin were greater than the RDA, whereas the remaining nutrient intakes were lower than the RDA. The average BMD of the subjects was shown to be 1.06${\pm}$1.09g/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The highest BMD of 1.24${\pm}$0.14g/$\textrm{cm}^2$ was noticed in the subjects of 30s compared to 20s, 40s, 50s, 60s. The BMD values were compared by the relative body weight(R3W) of the menopause subjects, and it was found that the underweight group had significant lower BMB while the rest of the groups did not have any differences in BMD. The most strongly correlated nutrient with BMD among the menopause subjects appeared to be calcium. The women whose Ca intakes were higher than 500mg showed the significantly higher BMD than those with Ca intakes lower than 500mg. This study suggests that the most effective way to prevent osteoporosis and to reduce the incidences of fractures seems to be minimizing bone loss through the adequate intake of calcium as well as avoiding underweight, especially in menopausal women. The objective of this study was to examine the effect of trans-10, cis-12 conjugated linoleic acid (t10c12-CLA) on the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) pathway in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated porcine peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). t10c12-CLA was treated with different concentrations in culture medium of LPS$na{\ddot{i}}ve$ and LPS-stimulated PBMCs. The mRNA expressions of prostaglandin $E_2$ ($PGE_2$)-synthase, COX-2 and 5-LOX were measured using quantitative real-time PCR. In addition, the production levels of $PGE_2$ and 5-LOX in culture supernatant from PBMCs with or without LPS were assessed by ELISA. In LPS$na{\ddot{i}}ve$ PBMCs, treatment of t10c12-CLA significantly (p < 0.05) increased the mRNA expressions of PGE2 synthase and 5-LOX compared to vehicle control. Expression of COX-2 mRNA did not show significant difference compared to vehicle control by t10c12-CLA treatment in LPS$na{\ddot{i}}ve$ PBMCs. However, the addition of LPS in PBMCs markedly (p < 0.05) increased the mRNA expression of COX-2, $PGE_2$ synthase and 5-LOX, and also significantly (p < 0.05) enhanced the production of $PGE_2$ and 5-LOX relative to LPS$na{\ddot{i}}ve$ PBMCs, respectively. However, the addition of t10c12-CLA significantly (p < 0.01) suppressed the LPS-induced excessive expression of COX-2, $PGE_2$ synthase, and 5-LOX compared to those of PBMCs treated with LPS alone. The production levels of $PGE_2$ and 5-LOX in culture supernatant from LPS-stimulated PBMCs were also significantly (p < 0.05) inhibited by the treatment of t10c12-CLA compared to LPS alone. These results suggested that t10c12-CLA has an anti-inflammatory effect via dual inhibition of COX-2 and 5-LOX with gene expression and production level in LPS-stimulated porcine PBMCs. Therefore, it was thought that t10c12-CLA can attenuate the inflammatory response by down-regulation of eicosanoids production.
An antifungal antibiotic-producing strain, BCNU 2003, was isolated from forest soil in Korea. The morphological and physiological characters, and 16S rRNA sequences analysis of strain BCNU 2003 identified this strain as Bacillus genus. The Bacillus sp. BCNU 2003 showed strong antifungal activities against Aspergillus niger, Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Trichophyton rubrum with inhibition ranging from 62.05 to 63.49% by using dual culture technique. Bacillus sp. BCNU 2003 produced a maximum level of antifungal substances under aerobic incubation at 28oC and pH 6.5-7.2 for 6 days in LB broth. Ethyl acetate extract of the cultured broth showed strong antifungal activity and a broad antifungal spectrum against various pathogenic fungi. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values for its active extracts ranged between 0.0625 mg/ml and 1 mg/ml. In addition, Bacillus sp. BCNU 2003 was determined to have the ability to produce enzymes such as amylase, protease, gelatinase and catalase.

For the spring ephemeral and myrmecochorous perennia, Corydalis filistipes Nakai (Fumariaceae), rare and narrow endemic to Ullung Island in Korea, genetic diversity and structure of 4 subpopulations of the species were investigated with allozyme markers. Levels of genetic diversity (A=1.73, $P_{95%}$=61..2%, Ho=0.201, He=0.167) were relatively lower than those of other endemic species with widespread distribution range, but considerably higher than other endemic species with similar life history traits isolated in island. The moderate level of genetic diversity within subpopulations in C. filistipes is characteristic of the species with predominantly outcrossing, myrmecochorous seed dispersal by dual function of the elaisome and mode of sexual and asexual reproduction by the cleistogamy. The analysis of fixation indices showed an overall excess of heterozygotes (mean $F_{IS}=-0.1889,\;F_{IT}=-0.1226$) relative to H-W expectations. About 5.6% of the total genetic variation was found among subpopulations ($F_{ST}$=0.0557). The strategies of reasonable conservation and management, and the maintenance mechanism of genetic diversity of Corydalis filistipes Nakai, endemic plant species in Korea were discussed.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is highly prevalent worldwide. The major challenge for current antiviral treatment is the elevated drug resistance that occurs via rapid viral mutagenesis. In this study, we developed AAV vectors to simultaneously deliver two or three shRNAs targeting different HBV-related genes. These vectors showed markedly better antiviral effects than ones that delivered a single shRNA in vitro. A dual shRNA expression vector (AAV-157i/1694i), which simultaneously expressed two shRNAs targeted the S and X genes of HBV, reduced HBsAg, HBeAg and HBV DNA levels by $87{\pm}4$, $80.3{\pm}2.6$ and $86.2{\pm}7%$ respectively, eight days post-transduction. In a mouse model of prophylactic treatment, HBsAg and HBeAg were reduced to undetectable levels and the serum HBV DNA level was reduced by at least 100 fold. These results indicate that AAV-157i/1694i generates potent anti-HBV effects and that the strategy of constructing multi-shRNA expression vectors may lead to enhanced anti-HBV efficacy and overcome the evading mechanism of the virus and thus the development of drug resistance.
Transparent and conductive carbon nanotube on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) were prepared by dip-coating method for self-sensing multi-functional nanocomposites. The changes in the electrical and optical properties of CNT coating mainly depended on the number of dip-coating, concentration of CNT solution. Consequently, the surface resistance and transmittance of CNT coating were sensitively controlled by the processing parameters. Surface resistance of CNT coating was measured using four-point method, and surface resistance of coated CNT could be better calculated by using the dual configuration method. Optical transmittance of PET film with CNT coating was evaluated using UV spectrum. Surface properties of coated CNT investigated by wettability test via static and dynamic contact angle measurement were consistent with each other. As dip-coating number increased, surface resistance of coated CNT decreased seriously, whereas the transmittance exhibited little lower due to the thicker CNT networks layer. Interfacial microfailure properties were investigated for CNT and indium tin oxide (ITO) coatings on PET substrates by electrical resistance measurement under cyclic loading fatigue test. CNT with high aspect ratio exhibited no change in surface resistance up to 2000 cyclic loading, whereas ITO with brittle nature showed a linear increase of surface resistance up to 1000 cyclic loading and then exhibited the level-off due to reduced electrical contact points based on occurrence of many micro-cracks.
In general, furniture industry, with its high foreign dependency, has serious logistics issues that are commonly raised in such countries as Korea, China and Japan. This leads to my different possibilities & ways of rationalizing the logistics systems that utilize port hinterlands. Thus the purpose of the present paper is to create new logistics systems which will work effectively across the three countries. In this research study, we came up with 2 logistics models in which the port hinterland of Busan serves as the distribution center for furniture industry, and the models were suggested as the cooperative logistics business systems for the North-east asian region. In the proposed models, 'Busan furniture logistics center' has the dual functions of 'the cross-docking center from China to Japan' and 'the assembly & delivery center for furniture imported by Japan'. To have this logistics business center materialized, we propose that policy-level supports from the relevant port authorities be provided in the following three aspects: overseas investment promotion focused on the furniture industry of Japan, protection & enhancement of competitiveness for the port of Busan, and uilization plans for the new port hinterland of the city.

Plastid proteomics are essential organelles present in virtually all cells in plants and green algae. Plastids are responsible for the synthesis and storage of key molecules required for the basic architecture and functions of plant cells. The proteome of plastid, and in particular of chloroplast, have received significant amounts of attention in recent years. Various fractionation and mass spectrometry (MS) techniques have been applied to catalogue the chloroplast proteome and its sub-organelles compartments. To better understanding the function of the lumenal sub-organelles within the thylakoid network, we have carried out a systematical analysis and identification of the lumenal proteins in the thylakoid of wheat by using Tricine-SDS-PAGE, and LTQ-ESI-FTICR mass spectrometry followed by SWISS-PROT database searching. We isolation and fractionation these membrane from fully developed wheat leaves using a combination of differential and gradient centrifugation couple to high speed ultra-centrifuge. After collecting all proteins to eliminate possible same proteins, we estimated that there are 407 different proteins including chloroplast, chloroplast stroma, lumenal, and thylakoid membrane proteins excluding 20 proteins, which were identified in nucleus, cytoplasm and mitochondria. A combination of these three programs (PSORT, TargetP, TMHMM, and TOPPRED) was found to provide a useful tool for evaluating chloroplast localization, transit peptide, transmembranes, and also could reveal possible alternative processing sites and dual targeting. Finally, we report also sub-cellular location specific protein interaction network using Cytoscape software, which provides further insight into the biochemical pathways of photosynthesis. The present work helps understanding photosynthesis process in wheat at the molecular level and provides a new overview of the biochemical machinery of the thylakoid in wheat.
