This study was performed in order to know the histochemical changes of mucosubstances in granular secretions of the serous gland under normal and dry conditions. The frogs were collected near Jinju and the experimental groups were retained under dry conditions for 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours to make a comparison with normal group. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The secreting granules in serous gland of the frog skin contained neutral and weakly acidic mucosubstances. 2. the secreting granules in serous gland of the frog skin were significantly decreased under dry conditions, as is evident from the histochemical properties. The neutral mucosubstances were decreased more than acidic mucosubstances. 3. Histochemical compositions of the mucosubstances of secreting granules in the lumen of the serous gland were not changed according to dry condition.

Ethanol-based dry shampoo may provide an important and valuable resource in convenience for patients and busy people due to the unnecessity of water to wash out. In this research, ethanol-based dry shampoo was prepared by simple mixing of specific detergent materials and different contents of ethanol. Cytotoxicity was examined by the MTT assay to determine less-irritative materials of detergent and shampoo. Patch test on skin was performed to figure out the degree of skin irritation and also antimicrobial effect was examined by the eradication of bacteria. As a result, it was confirmed that ethanol-based dry shampoo had non-cytotoxicity as well as an antibiotic effect. Therefore, ethanol-based dry shampoo will be able to provide esthetic and hygienic hair treatment purposes with cleanliness and convenience.
Objectives : Atopic dermatitis is a skin problem that causes dry skin, intense itching, and then a red, raised rash. It may be a long-lasting (chronic) skin problem that requires more than one treatment. The cause of atopic dermatitis isn't clear, but it affects the skin's ability to hold moisture. The skin becomes dry, itchy, and easily irritated. The purpose of this study was to report the clinical effects of herbal medicine on atopic dermatitis. Methods : We employed oriental medical treatments; herbal-medication (Cheonggisanbyeonbang), acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping therapy. At the same time, the patient sweated out the skin poison. We treated him two times a week with oriental therapy method. He took medicine three times a day after a meal. During taking medicine, we let him avoid fatty food, flour based food, and alcohol. We took a picture the patient's body parts and compared the symptom with previous symptom. With the picture, we evaluated the patient's condition. Results : After taking treatment - 17 times' acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping therapy during 4 months- and taking herbal-medicine, the skin condition of the patient was much improved. At first, he was troubled with itching and hot feeling at reddish area, time after time the itching and hot feeling was weakened. The reddish area was changed to dry condition and changed to normal state. In advance, the symptom of arms was improved, and later the symptom of legs was started to improve. Conclusion : Herbal medicine (Cheonggisanbyeonbang) was an effective in the treatment of atopic dermatitis and it helped to improve regenerating the skin in the body.
Objectives: Sasang Constitutional Medicine is popularly appliedto treatment in Korea. Constitution is a holistic concept contained internal and external characteristics, and physical traits including ordinary symptoms. Skin is one of constitutional property elements. So we researched a correlation female facial skin and sasang constitution. This is a basic study to find constitution can be a major factor to care and manage skin. Methods: We examined sasang constitution and facial skin condition of 100 healthy women who aged from 30 to 59. Hydration and sebum of facial skin was measured by skin diagnostic instrument and skin type was calculated from the data. Keratin, pore size, acne, and brightness of face was measured by skin magnifying lens and subjective skin troubles in ordinary times was also investigated. Constitution diagnosis and Skin diagnosis was investigated separately as a blind test andthe data was statistically analyzed with chi-square test, Correlation analysis, One-way analysis of variance. Results: 1. In sasang constitution, Taeeumingroup bad significant tendencies of larger hydration and sebum amount, combination degree of forehead and cheek was also higher than other constitutions(p<0.05). 2. Facial skin type was significantly different according to Sasang Constitution, Soeumin and Soyangin had a tendency of dry skin comparatively, but Taeeumin had mainly a tendency of combination skin and secondly dry skin(p<0.05). On the other hand, there was no correlation between age and skin type. 3. In subjective skin trouble, Soeumin group had less acne trouble than Soyangin and Taeeumin group(p<0.1). Pore size trouble was more frequent in Soyangin group than Soeumin group(p<0.05). Keratin trouble was more frequent in Soeumin group than Soyangin and Taeumin group(p<0.1). Conclusions: Korean healthy women's skin condition was different according to sasang constitution.

The order to see how the deep cleansing change sebum and moisture condition by skin type, 20 persons with dry skin and oily skin were divided into two groups of scrub group and enzyme group and given the deep cleansing care, totaling 8 time. After 8 times of the deep cleansing care, the scrub group showed a valid change with oily skin while the enzyme group showed a valid change with dry skin. However, both groups did not have change a moisture with any skin types. The outcome from the questionnaire that had been done to find subjective feeling indicated that oil change resulted in a valid feeling whereas change of moisture and sensitivity were barely felt.
Objectives: An ultra dry air environment of nearly ${\leq}2%$ RH is often required in lithium battery factories. The objective of this study is to evaluate the subjective eye, pulmonary, nose, and skin symptoms of workers exposed to ultra-low relative humidity and thionyl chloride. Methods: We recruited 274 workers using a self-reported questionnaire in March 2014. Those who worked in ultra-low relative humidity and with thionyl chloride were identified and their prevalence of symptoms was compared with that of other workers. We excluded white collar workers, researchers and other workers who were exposed to various hazard factors, and finally included 164 workers. Results: There were significant differences in the rate of self-reported eye and skin symptoms between exposure group_1 and exposure group_2. Exposure group_2 experienced more frequent eye, and skin symptoms. Multinomial logistic regression analysis for experience of dry eye symptoms and skin symptoms in exposure group_2 showed that dry eye symptoms (odds ratio [OR], 6.33, 95% confidence interval [CI], 2.19-18.24, p<0.001), and itchiness (OR, 6.45, 95% CI, 1.94-21.43, p<0.01) were the significant variables. The complaints of workers experiencing ultra-low relative humidity and thionyl chloride were high compared with other workers. Conclusion: These findings suggest that exposure to ultra-low relative humidity and thionyl chloride may be associated with more frequent eye and skin symptoms than exposure to ultra-low relative humidity alone. The current precautions to protect workers from the adverse effects of ultra-low relative humidity and thionyl chloride appear to be insufficient, indicating that additional management plans to reduce symptoms should be considered.

This paper proposes a dry-type surface myoelectric sensor for the myoelectric hand prosthesis. The designed surface myoelectric sensor is composed of skin interface and processing circuits. The skin interface has one reference and two input electrodes, and the reference electrode is located in the center of two input electrodes. In this paper is proposed two types of sensors with the circle- and bar-shaped reference electrode, but all input electrodes are the bar-shaped. The metal material of the electrodes is the stainless steel (SUS440) that endures sweat and wet conditions. Considering the conduction velocity and the median frequency of the myoelectric signal, the inter-electrode distance (IED) between two input electrodes as 18mm, 20mm, and 22mm is selected. The signal processing circuit consists of a differential amplifier with a band pass filter, a band rejection filter for rejecting 60Hz power-line noise, amplifiers, and a mean absolute value(MAV) circuit. Using SUS440, six prototype skin interface with different reference electrode shape and IED is fabricated, and their output characteristics are evaluated by output signal obtained from the forearm of a healthy subject. The experimental results show that the skin interface with parallel bar shape and the 18mm IED has a good output characteristics. The fabricated dry-type surface myoelectric sensor is evaluated for the upper-limb amputee.
