In the event of a maritime distress accident, rapid search and rescue operations using rescue assets are very important to ensure the safety and life of drowning person's at sea. In this paper, we analyzed the surface layer current in the northwest sea area of Ulleungdo by applying machine learning such as multiple linear regression, decision tree, support vector machine, vector autoregression, and LSTM to the meteorological information collected from the maritime observation buoy. And we predicted the drowning person's route at sea based on the predicted current direction and speed information by constructing each prediction model. Comparing the various machine learning models applied in this paper through the performance evaluation measures of MAE and RMSE, the LSTM model is the best. In addition, LSTM model showed superior performance compared to the other models in the view of the difference distance between the actual and predicted movement point of drowning person.

In the present study, the drowning-out crystallization of L(+)-calcium lactate was investigated in order to develop the crystallization separation process. The crystallization of the calcium lactate was induced by injecting the alcoholic anti-solvent into the aqueous solution of calcium lactate and the control of the calcium lactate crystal size during the crystallization was primarily investigated under the consideration of the anti-solvent species, anti-solvent composition and agitation speed as the key operating factors. Alcohols of methanol, ethanol, n-propanol and i-propanol were used as the anti-solvent for the drowning-out crystallization. Prior to the crystallization experiment, the solubility of calcium lactate in the water-alcohol mixture was measured along with the variation of the alcohol species and composition, which was necessary to estimate the supersaturation level of the crystallization. By the drowning-out crystallization, the calcium lactate crystals of the fabric shape were obtained. Using the ethanol as the antisolvent, the fabric crystals close to the needle shape were produced. However, the hairy crystals were obtained by using the propanol as the anti-solvent. Due to such morphological features, the crystals was highly apt to form the aggregates. The aggregation of the crystals was intensified as increasing the alcohol fraction in the water-alcohol mixture. Meanwhile, the agitation caused the breakage of crystals, resulting in the decrease of the crystal size. Therefore, the crystal size in the crystallization was predominantly determined by the competition between the crystal aggregation and breakage.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the actual status of occurrence of near-drowning accident by regions, sex, causes, places, months and days through Bureau of Statistics for 3 years from 1998 to 2000. 1. In the actual status of drowned persons by regions, 255 persons(15.1%) of Kyung-Ki regions are highest, 27 persons(1.62%) of Che-Ju regions are lowest. 2. In the actual status of drowned persons by sex, the yearly mean 1324 male persons(78.58%) and 362 female persons(21.42%) of 1,686 persons the yearly mean are drowned and the number of male drowned persons is 3.7 times higher than that of female. 3. In the actual status of drowned persons by age, among 1,686 drowned persons the yearly mean, 467 persons between fifteen and nineteen are drowned(9.23%). 4. In the actual status of drowned persons by causes, the major causes due to the poor swimming skills are 43.4%. 5. In the actual status of drowned persons by places, the major places are rivers and riversides(50.0%). 6. In the actual status of drowned persons by months, among 1,686 drowned persons the yearly mean, 319.33 persons(18.94%) on the July and 403.66 persons(23.94%) on the August had the highest the drowning accident. It is one of major cause of seasonal accidental death especially in summer. 7. In the actual status of drowned persons by day of the week, among 1,686 drowned persons the yearly mean, most of near-drowning accidents are happened on weekend(56.62%).
This Design research is a design of rescue equipment combined with beach garbage can for prompt rescue at the time of the accident in water. As a usual, it is used as garbage can hanging a garbage bag on the holders located in both sides, and it can be used to rescue drowning men promptly taking out a rescue tube located inside of the equipment at the time of the accident in water. Support is consisted of beach one, wall-hanging one and pipe one, and it could be installed to match the situation because it can be combined with all main frames. As a usual, it is used as garbage can in seaside, but it can be used to rescue drowning men promptly taking out a rescue tube after pulling the handle located in front of main frame at the time of the accident in water, and it can be used to pull drowning men out of the water because rope is kept in rescue tube.

This paper proposes the development of an AI drone equipped with motion detection and thermal imaging camera to quickly rescue people from drowning accidents. Currently, when a drowning accident occurs, a large number of manpower must be put in to find the person who needs it, such as conducting a search operation. The time required for this process is too long, and especially the night search is more difficult for a person to do directly. To solve this situation, we are going to use AI drones.
This study was to exhibit the effective emergency care method for the drowning and non-drowning who are reached two-thousand peoples every year in our country. For investigate the effective emergency care, this study was discussed as follows ; Pathophysiology of the water submersion, Fresh-water & sea-water drowning, Factors affecting survival, and Prehospital management. The conclusions from this study were summarized as follows; 1. Remove the patient from the water. If you suspect neck or spinal injuries, Always support the head and neck level with the back and, begin rescue breathing. 2. Maintain the airway and support ventilation in the water use the jaw-thrust technique to avoid farther injury to the neck or spine. We might encounter more resistance to ventilations than you expect because of water in the airway. Once you have determined that there are no foreign objects in the airway, apply ventilations with more force; adjust ventilations until you see the patient's chest rise and fall but not until you see gastric distention. Do not attempt to remove water from the patient's lungs or stomach. 3. If there is no pulse, begin CPR. 4. Administer high-flow supplemental oxygen; suction as needed. 5. Once the patient is breathing and has a pulse, assess for hemorrhage; control any serious bleeding that you find. 6. Cover the patient to conserve body heat, Handle the patient very gently, and, Transport the patient as quickly as possible to Emergency Department, Continuing resuscitative measures during transport. If the patient have the hypothermia, follow hypothermia management.
Spherical DADNE/AP (1,1-diamino-2,2-dinitroethylen/ammonium perchlorate) energetic composites were produced by drowning-out/agglomeration (D/A). The agglomeration of DADNE with AP particles was found to be affected by the amount of the bridging liquid, stirring velocity and residence time. The composites appeared to grow dramatically with the amount of bridging liquid which triggers agglomeration. As the stirring velocity and the residence time increased, the size of composites increased and then tended to decrease. Thermal gravimetric analysis showed that the addition of DADNE activates the low temperature decomposition (LTD) of AP. For the neat AP, the only about 30 wt% of AP was found to decompose at the LTD. On the other hand, it was found that 70 wt% of AP decomposed when DADNE was added by physical mixing and 90 wt% of AP decomposed when the DADNE/AP composites were prepared by the D/A method.

Purpose: This paper aims to derive improvement measures, in terms of legal and technical aspects, which can reduce effectively the casualties caused by drowing accidents. Method: Firstly, we checked the status of drowing accident management and carried out the interview of field private safety guards. field private safety guards. In addition, surveys were conducted on safety personnel and managers. Based on survey results, we are lastly analyzed the specific problems and reviews the improvement measures from technical and legal aspects. Result: As an analytical result, it was considered that supplementary supporting tools such as CCTV, monitoring devices using IoT and artificial intelligence technologies were necessary to prevent drowning accident, and qualification with limited authority should be added to the private safety guard because of the lack of regulation. Conclusion: In order to manage water safety effectively, a comprehensive water safety management system should be established that integrates people and equipment through systemic education of security personnel, authorization of enforcement, and introduction of surveillance equipment.
Cyclotrimethylene trinitramine (RDX) is a high explosive commonly used for military applications. Submicronization of RDX particles has been a critical issue in order to alleviate the unintended and accidental stimuli toward safer and more powerful performances. The purpose of this study is to optimize experimental variables for drowning-out crystallization applied to produce submicron RDX particles. Effects of RDX concentration, anti-solvent temperature and anti-solvent mass were analyzed by the central composite rotatable design. The adjusted determination coefficient of regression model was calculated to be 0.9984 having the p-value less than 0.01. Response surface plots based on the central composite rotatable design determined the optimum conditions such as RDX concentration of 3 wt%, anti-solvent temperature of $0.2^{\circ}C$ and anti-solvent mass of 266 g. The optimum and experimental diameters of RDX particles were measured to be $0.53{\mu}m$ and $0.53{\mu}m$, respectively. The regression model satisfactorily predicts the average diameter of RDX particles prepared by drowning-out crystallization. Structure of RDX crystals was found to be ${\alpha}$-form by X-ray diffraction analysis and FT-IR spectroscopy.

Tools and equipment that can provide buoyancy for a drowning person are important for saving lives. The purpose of this study was to estimate the minimum amount of gas needed and the buoyancy value in newton units required to generate the minimum buoyancy determined to be sufficient for keeping the head of a drowning person above the water's surface to allow for respiration for at least 1 minute. A buoyancy experiment was carried out with a long rubber balloon injected with carbon dioxide gas, and a buoyancy measurement experiment was performed on six college students. The degree of buoyancy was measured using a 5-point scale, and the statistical value of the measured data was analyzed to estimate minimum buoyancy. As a result, 8 grams of carbon dioxide were determined to satisfy minimum buoyancy conditions with a confidence level of 72%, and buoyancy was calculated to be 44.66 newtons. 12 grams of carbon dioxide met the minimum buoyancy conditions with a confidence level of 100%, and buoyancy was calculated to be 66.99 newtons. This study is expected to contribute to the development of low cost, easy-to-carry minimum buoyancy aids.
